Remember When ….

November 18, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Remember when Democrats thought that John Kasich was the only reasonable Republican running for President?

Scratch that.

Unknown“As part of a broad national security plan to defeat ISIS, Republican Presidential candidate John Kasich proposed creating a new government agency to push Judeo-Christian values around the world,” NBC News reports.

“The new agency, which he hasn’t yet named, would promote a Jewish- and Christian-based belief system to four regions of the world: China, Iran, Russia and the Middle East.”

Two months ago Kasich said that the United States should accept refugees from Syria.  This week he sent a letter to President Obama saying not to accept any more.

Y’all, they ate his brain. Whatever started in Ben Carson’s brain has migrated to Kasich’s brain. We need to build a wall around the GOP Presidential candidates. A huge one. Huge.

Russia?! The dominant religion is Russian Orthodox which is CHRISTANITY! What a moroon. AND… last time I checked Iran is part of the Middle East. Do ANY of these people know about the GOOGLE?

(I’ll stop now before I say something Momma won’t like.)

  2. 1smartcanerican says:

Unbelievable! Every person on this earth has his/her right to believe in a religion of their choice, or not to follow any religion. No one has the right to force their preferred religious beliefs on another and for American to force Christianity/Judaism on the world’s population is totally not only impossible, but just flat out stupid!

The Christian right Dominionists are already responsible for hundreds of thousands deaths in Africa due to their terrible brand of xtianity and killing the gays.

These idiots like Kasich are a total embarrassment to most Americans!

    2
  3. I think it’s time the national GOP let America hear from the organ grinder rather than the monkeys.

    3
  4. charles r. phillips says:

With respect, Micr, I doubt there ARE any organ grinders anymore.

    4
  5. If that happens….. what do we do with all the churches and synagogues…..that are already doing that?

    5
  6. Being a democrat from Ohio—- believe me when I say Kasich was always Keyser Soze.

    6
  7. e platypus onion says:

He urged the federal government to “pause,” and put in place stringent background checks before allowing Syrians to enter the U.S.

Kasich didn’t elaborate, but his idea of stringent background checks is forcing refugees to agree to vote for wingnuts and become kkkristians.

    7
  8. Why is it that the worst version of Christians are the ones most eager to impose their “Christianity” on others. Religion is personal; attempts to impose it are pure politics.

PS, any entity that tried to survive by eating the brains of Repub candidates would quickly die of starvation.

    Or food poisoning.

    8
  9. Very interesting, does this mean that Japan may send state sponsored Shinto missionaries to the U.S.. My but the possibilities for cultural exchange seem endless.

    9
  10. So thats why we didn’t hear from him until now? Jindall is out so he’s decided to fill the Funkyness Slot.

    10
  11. W. C. (Pete) Peterson says:

Why is it that the Republicans want to shrink the Federal government down to the size they can drown in a bathtub, yet every time there is a problem, they want to create a new Federal agency to deal with it? And do all of that while at the same time giving tax cuts to their wealthy owners? These people aren’t sane enough to hold public office.

    11
  12. We need to shrink gummint cuz gummint cain’t do nothing right!

With the notable exception of a new federal agency:
    the Department of Judeo-Christian Proselytization.

The biggest medical mystery of our times: how can wingnut heads not explode while maintaining diametrically opposed ideas? Of course, I am using the word “ideas” loosely…

    12
  13. Does Ben Carson only perform brain surgery, or is he capable of a full brain transplant? John Kasich may be just the first.

“That’s not a green room! That’s an operating theater!”

    13
  14. @charles r. phillips
Also with all due respect, those monkeys do not only dance to the sounds inside their heads. We have heard aboot organ grinders, like the Brothers Koch, Shelly Adelson, etc. But I’m beginning to think they too are just monkeys dancing to a tune. What individuals or families actually call the GOP’s hoedown? Some light penetrating the GOP/Tea Party cabal would be helpful. Even enlightening!

    14
  15. Once again, as so often, I am reminded of the cartoon of a living room where a couple are watching Fox News with other obvious signs of their following of the RWNJs, and a bunch of zombies burst in screaming for “BRAAAINS…. BRAA– Ah, shucks.”

    15
  16. “I don’t think we should be promoting Judeo-Christian values in the Arab world,” Graham told Real Clear Politics in an interview. “I think that was the Crusades.”

    16
  17. Haven’t we had missionaries infiltrating the odd corners of the world for the last few centuries?

Of course, you know these guys trust government to be more effective than the private sector.

    17
  18. charles r. phillips says:

Micr, it’s pretty clear that those we think of as “organ grinders” don’t really control much. Yes, they provide cash and munchies, but can’t seem to stop the runaway train.

I’ve heard theories for years, such as right-wing members of corporate boards who are on all the “right” boards for influencing policy. Many corporate boards share several members, causing the policies of all boards to be similar. If there are puppet masters, I would start there.

    18
  19. Marge Wood says:

I learn so much here. I do think the Koch brothers are in with the top power brokers such as big banks etc. Koch bros. have a presence in more than sixty countries. The way to know is to research the Koch brothers and their growing up and how they got to be the way they are. Read and read and read and when you get to the point of needing a higher dose of antidepressant, you’ve found out enough. And yeah, the K bros ARE on lots of boards of all sorts. They “help” groups, like the arts community, universities begging for money etc and then they say they get to decide who teaches what and if the organization doesn’t agree they take their money away. I see them as a couple of guys who see the whole thing as a big board game which makes them laugh.

    19
  20. Aggieland Liz says:

Two things: 1) the 1st Amendmend precludes this delightful plan for the “betterment” of the world and “security” of the USA; and, 2) It is quite shocking that Lindsey Graham is looking like the adult in the crowd now!

    20
  21. @Marge Wood
You remind me of the immortal words of William S Burroughs.
“A paranoid is someone who knows a little of what’s going on.
A psychotic is a guy who’s just found out what’s going on.”

    21
  22. We need to provide Repugs with sections of the Constitution which deal with the separation of church and state, the First Amendment. Their copies must be missing those pages.

Here is a list of what refugees facwe before they get admitted to the US. 13-count em-13 steps. That is more than alcoholics get.

  24. What a grand idea!! We just recently managed to get Irish Protestants and Catholics to stop killing each other.

Let’s stir things up a little sending our myth makers all over the world to start little tea parties with other myth makers.

Please tell me where intelligtent life has gone. I want a ticket there.

    24
  25. Pretty much stinks of establishing a government-sponsored religion to me. And Klueless Kasich is missing one important fact: Christians, Jews, and Muslims are all People of the Book. The three faiths are inextricably interwoven. Christ, for instance, is a prophet in Islam, and a lot of Abrahamic and Mosaic law is contained Islamic law as well.

Aside from all that, with the Ugly American still amok in the world, do we have to try to create the Arse-Ugly American? I think our fellow Earthlings have probably had enough of Uncle Sam’s Mr. Hyde by now. Just the idea of this is going to give them the fantods.

    25
  26. e platypus onion says:

a lengthy screening process. The U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants breaks it down in 13 steps; the Center for American Progress breaks it down to 21 steps.

18 to 24 months before refugees are allowed to enter. By then they may become angry converts to terrorist organizations.

    26
  27. Elizabeth Moon says:

Refugees could not be any worse than GOP candidates.

    27
  28. One of my dearest girlfriends has been the Exec Director of the African Community Center in Denver for about 20 years. She spends much of her time writing grant proposals to bring refugees, primarily from Africa, to the US. More recently, she has worked with the State Dept to relocate families from Iraq and Afghanistan, too. Her life, her heart is in the refugee community. Thru Jennifer, I have seen the struggle to bring refugees to the US, most arrive wearing a State Dept sweatsuit, flipflops, and maybe a cardboard suitcase with a few paltry belongings, perhaps a photo of family, whatever. I have helped her procure household items, clothing, donations; I’ve worked with refugees in their Second Safari thrift store, sorting donations, re-arranging merchandise, etc. I am talking something as basic as explaining to 3 African women who lived on a bare dirt floor and cooked gruel over a campfire under a tarp in a refugee camp how to sort coffee cups from wine glasses, organize them on a retail merchandise display case, in a foreign language. Really mind-blowing exchanges. I’ve seen children refuse to remove their gloves and knit hats indoors because they were new, and they’d never had them before. The same children showed up at their elementary school at 6:30 am, played on the playground equipment until someone got there, who convinced them to come indoors for hot chocolate before class. They were so excited to get to go to school, they didn’t want to be late. I will never forget the joy of handing them a soccer ball… of their very own. I convinced Realtors to clean out their garages before Christmas, to distribute their children’s outgrown bikes and toys. And yes, the vast majority of these kids were Muslim. Kids are all the same. They love to play with a ball, they love to ride bikes, they love to watch cartoons, even if it is on a 13 inch black and white TV that has been sitting in someone’s garage for 5 years. They don’t care if the towels don’t match. They don’t care if the Snoopy blanket is a little tattered around the edges. They don’t care if the Spiderman pillowcase is faded.

Jennifer’s office building was firebombed last weekend. They don’t know why, who, or how, or if it was even due to their being a tenant in the building. It’s scary stuff, nonetheless.

All this rhetoric and hate-mongering has to stop.
