Real Talk From A Real Texan

February 10, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I want y’all to meet David Currie, who is the chairman of the Tom Green County Democratic Party and has recently been elected to represent The Rural Caucus at the Texas Democratic Party.

David lives among heathens, miscreants, and rascals.  Tom Green County voted 75% for Ted Cruz.  If you’re wondering, Tom Greene County is a lot like Abilene but without the panache.

David is a retired Baptist minister but, as Momma used to say – not “that” kind of Baptist.  David may have retired, but he took his pulpit with him.

He preaches to rural Texas.  I think you’ll enjoy this.

And then the Republicans try to cook him and eat him.

I love a good sermon.

Be social and share!

  1. Damn, I wish he were a Kansan!

  2. THAT gives the Republicans conniption fits.

    2
  3. Does anyone else see it?

“I only mention it because sometimes there’s a man… I won’t say a hero, ’cause, what’s a hero? But sometimes, there’s a man. Sometimes, there’s a man, well, he’s the man for his time and place. He fits right in there.” -The Stranger

  4. A good article, but, did you read the comments? As long as people “think” like this, we are in deep trouble. They have aways existed, but now they control the bullhorn. And, of course, abortion is the single issue. Nothing else matters.

    4
  5. Just stating what we all know here–abortion is about keeping those uppity women–and all women–in line. Progress toward civilization is attained slowly usually–step by step–by people who have decided not to stay in line.

  6. Liberty Belle says:

Except for me, David may be the last remaining Democrat from Paint Rock. Concho County as well as Tom Green used to be solidly Democratic, but both have now crossed to the dark side.

  7. A bit off subject but for those who have not watched this you should

ps. At the very end when they pan out there is louie gohmert, top row near center, looking less then happy.

  8. Preach it brother! Right on!

  9. Loved all of it, but this jumped out at me:

Protect private property rights. I am a rancher. My great-grandfather came to Concho County in 1879. I don’t mind putting a wall along the border where it will be effective, if it is actually effective, but I don’t support taking farmers’ and ranchers’ land to keep a silly campaign promise. Try to take my land and I’ll remind you I also strongly support the Second Amendment.

  10. Opinionated Hussy says:

A beautifully-written piece – short, sweet, and very much to the point.

  11. David Currie has been a great leader of the party here in San Angelo. And there are more Democrats than you might imagine. San Angelo is rapidly becoming the West Texas art center…Lots of art in parks and under bridges and all along the downtown Concho river. Murals are all over the place.

Lots of places to eat and so…

    Ya’ll come, you hear?

    11
  12. If only all Democrats wern’t afraid to promote their own progressive agenda, the world would be a better place
