Pssssttt – Over Here. Big Secret.

August 22, 2014 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Our friend Ms. Jay in New York signs up for Republican newsletters to keep an eye on the bad guys.  Please realize that she has never given a dime to any damn Republican or done anything for Republicans except give them her email address.

Apparently, the GOP has some pretty low standards for “most loyal supporters.”

They are telling her their secrets and ordering her not to forward this email.  She sent it to me instead.  So, you get to know the GOP secret strategy to win in 2014.

Click the little one to read the big one.

Okay, so here’s the deal.  They are going to get volunteers.  They are going to talk to their volunteers.  They will also talk to their candidates and parties.  They will use a data delivery system that Democrats have had for years.

So the secret GOP strategy  is “get some damn volunteers.”  I wish we had thought of that.

Thanks to Ms. Jay for the neato email.

Gotta hand it to the marketing flunkies. This seems to be just another shakedown attempt to separate Teabillies from their cash by stating the obvious in ‘elitist?’ grown-up language. Sadly, it will work.

Excuse me while I go get myself gay-married. Please, in lieu of flowers, send pot patient cards from various states.

  2. I know you didn’t “make this up” but darn.

    O.k. on second thought…

Sounds like a plan to me. 🙂

  3. VeeGee in VT says:

‘Para Bellum’ means, roughly [prepare] for war.

    3
  4. daChipster says:

Yes, this all reads exactly like every election strategy I’ve ever seen. Interesting choice of names for their tech “incubator,” though: “Para Bellum” from the latin saying “Si vis pacem, para bellum.”

If you want peace, prepare for war.

That was the motto of the company that made Lugers for the Nazis, and “parabellum” the name, also, of the 9mm ammo invented for the Luger.

So, yeah, guns, fascism, war and GOP strategy… all becoming pretty much synonymous these days.

  5. VeeGee in VT says:

I left out a comma in the post above, which should come after ‘roughly’, but I’m sure you get the idea. Prepare for war.

    5
  6. VeeGee in VT says:

Sorry to hog the comments section. Parabellum is also the name given to a number of weapons, including a WWI era machine gun and a Luger pistol. Just sayin’.

  7. As strong defenders of the military Republicans understand that when confronted with an impossible task, you can’t order someone to do it. You have to ask for volunteers.

    7
  8. Haha! Thanks for this post, & you’re welcome, JJ! 😀 The funny part is: I actually have conservative Republican friends and I post to their FB pages all the time. A Dem friend of mine was wondering if the Pubs think I am a spy! I said if so, I’m a really stupid spy because I never hide the fact that I’m a progressive Dem posting on a Republican’s page! So, like right here: Hide in plain sight & give away GOP secrets! (The same secrets that they are emailing to anyone who signs up to receive at any old email address …)

    8
  9. Whatever.

So long as the Dem candidate doesn’t commit a felony, get indicted, commit another felony or two threatening the Judge, the prosecution, and the Grand Jury, I think we got a chance.

    9
  10. Ralph Wiggam says:

I’ve been trying to “Make strategic engagement” with women for decades now. I hope that doesn’t make me a Republican.

    10
  11. Oh Ralph, it only makes you Republican if you feel dirty and guilty about it after.

    11
  12. Ralph Wiggam says:

Sometimes I feel dirty and guilty before, and during, but not after.

    12
  13. The not-so-secret GOP strategy is: attack and destroy everything that is good. Defend and promote everything that is evil.

    13
  14. Do they have even a trifle of understanding of the concept “new”?

    14
  15. Question for you all: does door-knocking and phone actually work for anyone? That seems to be the only thing my local county chair wants to do, but it is not only not effective for me, it is very much a negative and annoying.

    Just wondering … thoughts anyone?

    15
  16. Republican “strategic engagement” strategy with women and minorities has been a national joke. They have nothing to offer us, they insult us, disrespect us, oppress us and then expect our votes. Major problem with this one.

    16
  17. “Where are we going to find volunteers?” “Our secret weapon, the private prisons!”

    17
  18. Polite Kool Marxist says:

maryelle, if Marco Rubio were an honest man, he would have switched parties after he was force fed his earlier remarks on immigration reform. As for all the misogynists, they really cannot seem to help themselves out of the pile of st00pid. Then with their treatment of children seeking asylum and their cavalier attitude toward Ferguson, Piyush’s party of st00pid keeps accumulating st00pid.

Now they have Senators McGrumpy and Vapors out there beating the war drums. That should impress the veterans waiting for services.

Apparently their tin foil hats amplify their tone deaf disregard for what nearly 80% of Americans want. Win the Senate in 2014? How about they lose the House!

    18
  19. I notice that “women” were not among the constituencies to make a strategic connection with. No surprise there.

    19
  20. @Ralph Wiggam #12: Just do what the Republicans do: “Beg forgiveness, not permission” 🙂

    20
  21. @Dene #19: Yes, “women” are listed. They are the first group named in the paragraph “2014 Strategic Engagement”. Then you should read comments #10-#12 here. 🙂

    21
  22. It has to be said they are doing a bang up job of outreach to minorities, hispanics, african americans etc, one wonders what they do when they do not want these people to support them.

    22
  23. So their game plan is basically to be competent?

    I see a big problem.

    23
  24. daChipster says:

Mark J. Short answer: yes, if it’s done right.

    24
  25. If they are relying on women, African Americans, Hispanics and other minorities to do the precinct walking and door knocking there is a distinct possibility some of them are going to get shot.

Remember Yoshihiro Hattori, 16, shot in Louisiana in 92 as well as more recently Renisha McBride plus countless others in between.
