Pride and Prejudice
You knew one of them would finally admit it. It was like waiting for a soufflé, hoping that whoever finally said it would do it in a great puff of beauty that exceeded the bounds of normal … I dunno, bowls or something.
Dennis Ross, a Republican from Florida, did it.
With the government shutdown in its fifth day, many Republicans have conceded the fight is no longer about Obamacare. Rep. Dennis Ross (R-Fla.) added his name to the list on Saturday, saying the matter now boils down to “pride.”
And then to put a little more butter on that biscuit, Ross even admits that there’s no connection between the shutdown and the funding of Obamacare.
No. Really? Somebody alert the media. (Sarcasm is just one of the many free customer services cheerfully offered at the World’s Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.)
Uncle Melvin used to say that pride ain’t all that hard to swallow once you’ve chewed on it long enough. I wonder how long it’s gonna take John Boehner.
