Please Meet Judge Roach

May 19, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Judge Jack Roach is a District Court Judge in Collin County (Fort Worth).

Macho Judge John Roach

He has up and decided that lesbians are unfit mothers.  It appears that he has had no help coming to this decision.  You know, like scientific studies or child advocates.  Judge Jack Roach thinks children would be better off living with a convicted felon father who really doesn’t want them than a lesbian mother in a stable relation who adores them.

A Republican Texas Judge has ordered a lesbian couple to live apart or give up custody of their children. According to Think Progress, Judge John Roach of McKinney, Texas has given Page Price 30 days to move out of the home she shares with Carolyn Compton and Compton’s two children from a previous marriage because he does not approve of Compton and Price’s “lifestyle.”

Compton cannot have anyone in her home past 9:00 pm unless she is related to them “by blood or marriage.”  Gay marriage is illegal in Texas.

I guess that means her kids can’t have sleep overs and New Year’s Eve is gonna be mighty lonely for those kids.

Judge Roach calls himself a conservative.  I thought conservatives wanted government out of our lives. I guess that doesn’t apply to the s-e-x part.  They want to stand there and watch that.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

Be social and share!

  1. He has given her house rules in her own home? Can he legally even do that?

I wish she would fight this and make it big news.

    1
  2. Ft worth is Tarrant County. I think Collin County is Plano.

This Judge is on some other planet.

    2
  3. Juanita Jean says:

Linda, you are right! My head is on crooked. Recovering from strep throat. That’s no excuse to screw up Texas geography, though.

    3
  4. I tell you who shouldn’t be allowed near children – heterosexuals. Anyone else notice that they are the ones raising gay kids?

    4
  5. This story should be all over the news and I hope y’all will hoot and holler until it is. Does Texas have any Lambda or PFLAG outlets? ACLU?

    5
  6. Sam in Kyle says:

He attends Chase Oaks Church in Plano which according to their website is an extremely fundamentalist church, think Church of Christ. This is about discrimination pure and simple.

    6
  7. 1. Can he do that legally? 2. Go to a state where marriage is legal, get married, come back and say here you go! Then it can start to move up the courts.

    7
  8. Corinne Sabo says:

    This guy got elected?

    8
  9. Roach has placed a “morality clause” in Compton’s divorce papers, which forbids Compton from having anyone she is not related to “by blood or marriage” in her home past 9:00 p.m. if the children are present.

Because everyone knows that no hanky-panky can possibly take place at 8:45 p.m.

    9
  10. And of course men like Roach provide an excellent reason for women to go lesbian.

    10
  11. I know Judge Roach. I have known his dad for nearly 30 years. My flabber is just gasted. How disappointing.

    11
  12. maryelle says:

This is an excellent example of why we need the SCOTUS to come out and recognize sexual orientation as an inalienable right. It is also why there needs to be actual separation of church and state. This guy doesn’t belong on the bench.

    12
  13. What a jackwagon! Is he married? With kids old enough to embarrass him by “coming out”? What goes around always come stampeding back!

    13
  14. UmptyDump says:

Good ol’ Judge Roach. If he doesn’t think that a couple gay women are fit to parent, maybe he’s ready to put the kids in question in the care of some fundamentalist pastor buddies. After all, what could go wrong … go wrong … go wrong … ?

  15. 9 PM? I had a later curfew than that when I was 15 years old. But that was to get us kids OFF the streets and home, so we didn’t get up to any trouble. Now the government wants to enforce a reverse curfew, where you throw someone out ONTO the street at 9 PM? They better make up their mind.

    15
  16. It’s the hetero families you’re always hearing in the news that abuse their children … sexually and with beatings or locking them up out of sight and starving them … if anyone can produce ONE example of a gay or lesbian couple who have done these horrible, inhumane things to any of their kids … I like to see it!

These fundamentalist nutjobs are beyond belief! Oh, the day they have to answer to the Big Guy will be a day of celebration in Heaven and the fires of Hell will be stoked high and hot!!

  17. english teacher says:

If you go here, http://www.judgeroach.org/contact-us, you can send the “good” judge, your comments about his actions.

    17
  18. Somebody needs to get involved in this to advocate for these women. The ACLU, somebody.

They probably have no money for lawyers to fight this. They have kids.

What a stupid idiot this man is. Trying to force people to live the way he thinks they should. Gay marriage may not yet be legal in Texas, but far as I know, there are no laws against people living together. If there were…… Good Lord!

    18
  19. Marge Wood says:

    Sigh.

    19
  20. Maybe Page Price could legally adopt the children as her own.

    20
  21. Elise Von Holten says:

    Judge Ca-Ca Roach…sigh…
Myths of my childhood where my best friends father (a tough Baptist God fearing man–yeah, yeah) tried to seduce (force himself on her) my mother and I was forbidden access to all the “good” people’s houses because my mother (the 1st divorcee in my school) was young, naive and pretty–the best/worst memory was being kicked out of my brothers baseball game, because my mother had come with a female friend (who was gay, but my Mom didn’t know about that then)–the bats got pulled out and we were asked to leave
I was about 11 and couldn’t understand what we had done wrong this time…I am less and less tolerant of these Xian conservatives…I suffered at their hands as a child and I don’t think decent people (gay or otherwise) should have to deal with this any longer–impeach the jerk…

    21
  22. W C Peterson says:

He”s not in the closet, is he? Lately, the harshest against gay relationships are gays themselves that are still in the closet.

    22
  23. He doesn’t approve of their “lifestyle”? I don’t approve of his ignorance and bigotry. Where do I sign up so I can dictate how this moron can live?

Oh, please take this to a higher court….

    23
  24. Rubymay says:

Did you say they like to watch ? Heck they also like to be involved — mistresses, affairs, phone sex, shoe-under-the mens-room-wall, you name it. This nut job doesn’t believe in God, he thinks he IS God. Impeach the son of a motherless goat!

    24
  25. BarbinDC says:

I have 93 year-old neighbor who was reared in an Orthodox Jewish home. (Her Dad would wake up every morning and recite the prayer that gave thanks to God for not making him a woman. No lie.) She has niece who happens to be the author “Heather Has Two Mommies.” I have great neighbors.

So, I bought the 10th anniversary edition of that “notorious” book to give to the daughter of my dear friends and had it signed when the author came to town to visit her aunt. My friends were thrilled and treasure the book. Both of them have doctorates (in different disciplines) and are raising their two girls to be open-minded. I don’t think the younger generation are going to need much help in that regard.

We just need to get them registered to vote. It’ll be quite a few years for that to happen with my friends’ daughters, however. Besides, they live in Maryland (!).

    25
  26. scottybeamer says:

His decision surely cannot be legal. Is he connected at the hip with Ted Cruz? He’s probably so far in the closet he can’t even see the doorknob!

    26
  27. Just sent him an email.

    I think we all should.

    27
  28. shortpeople says:

Handcuff him to Rick Bartlett, put them both in the back of a pickup truck, and drive over a bumpy section of a bridge spanning the Colorado River.

    28
  29. UmptyDump says:

Remember this other Texas family law judge?

    http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dT1iHH-3cTQ

Do he and Judge Roach fly in the same flock?

    29
  30. Judge Roach gives cockroaches, which are already despicable, a bad name. Surely Lambda or some other group will help the women fight this wrongful ruling by Roach. Lambda knows about the matter.

    30
  31. Bill F. says:

I sent him a message. Doubt it will get through his thick head.

    31
  32. That judge is damn well named. Somebody call Orkin.

    32
  33. Darn it Ray!!! You stole my whole comment right out of my keyboard!

    33
  34. Isn’t it interesting, the more Republican/conservatives yell about big gov’t intrusion into our lives, the more they do it.

    34
  35. Katie Johnsonius says:

This is what I sent the so-called “Judge”:

“Judge” Roach, you are wrong on same sex couples raising healthy, happy children. I hope we people of tolerance who read about this horrific decision can bring together enough money to appeal your ignorant, “faith”-based decision… to the Supremes, if necessary. You need your name dragged through the mud. I have two lesbian friends who have been together for more than twenty years. They bought sperm from a donor, and at different times, each of them had a baby from the same donor, so they are sisters. Each of them adopted the other’s child, and their kids are the healthiest, happiest, most well-adjusted kids you can imagine. Would you break this family apart?

By the way, Dear Readers, why don’t we all send the parents some money so they can appeal? Anyone know how we could do that?

    35
  36. maryelle says:

Congratulatios, Ray. You get the prize for this one.

    36
  37. Can’t these women move? bad neighbors, targeting will follow…smh

    37
  38. Elaine, they shouldn’t have to move.

Juanita, you realize this ruling keeps the mother from hiring a babysitter and going to an evening movie, yes? This just stinks and it must not stand. I hope the appeal has already been filed.

    38
  39. Katie Johnsonius says:

Okay, y’all, I am fairly much annoyed by this whole situation, and all the other narrow-minded stories I been reading about homophobia, so I went searching to find a little more info to share with JJ fans. I thought that maybe we could help support the moms.

I found something that I think is pretty damned peculiar. Y’all won’t EVEN be able to guess the name of the law firm that has been representing the moms…

Check it out: The firm is Barrett A. Stern and Michael D. Dement of Dement, Roach & Stern PLLC. See any name there that rings your chimes?

So now, (it would appear), that Roach’s very-own-firm is going to milk those moms to pay for an appeal of Roach’s very-own-decision?

Something hasn’t shown itself. I pray to God that LAMDA is involved already. Maybe they have a plan.

JJ: should I research this more, to be sure that these are the same damn Roaches?
