Phew! Well, You Just Never Know.

This is going to come as a great relief to Texans.  The rest of the world?  Not so much.

Y’all remember County Judge Tom Head out in Lubbock?  Well, the UN made an announcement today just for him.

The United Nations scoffed on Friday at claims by a judge in Lubbock County, Texas, that U.N. troops could invade the southern U.S. state to settle a possible civil war, which the judge warned could be sparked if Obama is re-elected in November.

“It’s absolutely ridiculous,” said U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s spokesman, Martin Nesirky, when asked if the United Nations had any plans to invade Texas.

But then again, they would lie about it, wouldn’t they?

Somebody get Judge Head a stiff drink or a new scapegoat.  It appears either one would do.

Thanks to Steve for the heads up.

Be social and share!

  1. Can we request a scapegoat that resides outside the borders of our fine state?

  2. Great, the whole world knows that leaders in Texas are crazy. That means that at least half the state population is crazy, or they would not have got voted in. They are going to start telling “Texas” joke everywhere. We will have to lie whenever we leave the country, when they ask where we are from. Those dang Texan accents are going to give us away. Double dang.

  3. I believe Yale still has a “de-accenting” program for people whose south of the Mason-Dixon line accents don’t play well in the business world, or the larger world stage.

  4. PS. Probably you first need to be admitted to Yale, to avail yourself of that program. I don’t believe they have community education classes, or enrollment for non-degree seeking students. Oh! I see a small business job creator opportunity here.

I will gladly teach New York accents to good people from Texas who find the R’s as embarrassing as I do. That will go over fine in Europe, although no so much in Alabama.

  6. Dear me, what must the U.N. think of Texas … the laughing stock for sure! Judge Head needs a head doctor!

  7. I can’t tell the difference from people speaking Spanish from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Mexico, Venezuela, or anywhere else. I just know they can talk to each in Spanish. Can you imagine a German or a Brit knowing which American accent is from the Texas, Georgia, Virginia, or Brooklyn? I think not.

  8. If Texas wishes to leave the United States I, for one, will gladly support them. Let ’em leave! It would improve the IQ of the US of A, not to mention Congress.

Richard, I take strong exception to your comment. What do you think would happen to people like Juanita and many of our local posters in the confederate state of Texas?

  10. @Barb

I couldn’t go anywhere is Italy, without everyone asking if I was from Dallas or Houston, the second I opened my mouth.(Because Texas only has 2 towns, as far as they were concerned). Some were from Germany and France and Ireland, not just Italians.

@Richard, how bout we let the secessionistas leave and the rest of us stay? That OUGHT to solve most of our problems, including the lege and the guvs office right there!

  12. The world is beginning to snicker. People know that we are about to send Ted Cruz to the Senate.
They also know that Ted says that the president is turning our golf courses over to the U.N. so they can feed little kids with bugs on their faces the pretty grass.

    12
  13. I am confused. If people like Judge Dread… er, Head… think the UN is useless everywhere it goes, why would they care if the UN was sent here?

    13
  14. After hearing Nikki (Nimrata) Haley last night – it SOUNDED TO ME like South Carolina is planning to SECEDE by the end of the week~they have a habit, you know, of causing all kinds of UNCIVIL problems in US Amercia (sp like Rmoney).

    14
  15. Why wait until these backward states secede form the Union? I prefer divorcing Arizona & Texas AFTER we move ALL Federal facilities in those states to higher ground. Let some northern Midwestern states have their pork barrel largess. Just saying’ . . . .
