I’m not real sure about this because I truly don’t know much about the New York insurance regulatory agencies, but any time I real “The NRA is going broke,” I smile.
The gun group has been suing New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the state’s financial regulators since May, claiming the NRA has been subject to a state-led “blacklisting campaign” that has inflicted “tens of millions of dollars in damages.”
Best I can figure out, New York is saying that the NRA cannot market insurance policies to pay your legal bills if you burt or kill someone with your gun. Anyway, the NRA is yelling that the sky is falling and I’m looking for my pick-axe to help it along.
You can read all about it here, but no matter, I hope they lose.
My thought to reduce guns is to require real liability insurance for every gun you own. You know, like they now require it for cars. That way, you end up with a big fight between the NRA and big insurance. I wanna watch that fight.

Republican Illinois state Rep. Nick Sauer is a bit of a slime ball with a damn cherry on top.
Sauer posted pictures of his ex-girlfriend in her birthday suit on Instagram and used them to catfish other men into graphic sexual discussions. I know, slimy.
But, here’s the cherry on top.
Sauer, a member of the state House Sexual Discrimination and Harassment Task Force, is a self-described “fiscal hawk” who supports term limits and transparency in government, according to his website.
Yeah, you read that right. He’s a member House Sexual Discrimination and Harassment Task Force. I suspect he got on that committee because he’s a practical use expert.
So many Republican freaks, so little time.
Thanks to Robert for the heads up.

Todd Kincannon, the 37 year old former head of the South Carolina Republican Party, has been in trouble with the law.
In 2015, Kincannon was arrested for threatening his wife and locking her in his car. He blamed the incident on being under the influence of cough syrup.
This is the same guy who said that anyone who comes in contact with someone who has Ebola should be immediately executed.
Well, things have gone downhill, he was arrested for killing his mother’s 10 year old beagle with his bare hands and then stabbing it repeatedly with two kitchen knives.
His explanation this time?
“I’m the second coming of Christ and I got a command from God to do it,” the former GOP official said.
So, basically the same one Donald Trump is using.

Okay, I’m home. Mark is pleased with the hearings on both days, but if the judge doesn’t, Mark will appeal. I know this child and I can guaran-damn-tee you that he’s persistent.
The first thing I was greeted with this morning is that the liberal donation organization that I use to raise money just broke all records. Act Blue (where you donated for the ballot by mail program) says they have already hit their all-time fundraising mark this election cycle of one billion – with a damn B – dollars.
The group predicts donations will top $1.5 billion by year’s end, double the amount the fundraising clearinghouse processed in the 2016 election cycle. By comparison, it took ActBlue nearly 12 years — from its founding in June 2004 until March 2016 — to raise its first $1 billion.
The average donation this cycle: $34.
Small donations are funding the resistance.
And you had something to do with that.

Both El Jefe and I are up to our necks today. I’m fixing to go into the courtroom where they make me turn off my phone. Not just silence it – turn it off.
El Jefe is traveling and will check in when he can.
Meanwhile, talk among yourselves about whatever is on the news today.
I shall return!

The hearing starts at 2:00. I will try to update on here but to be honest I’m not a lawyer so I may not understand it all.
The New York Times did a great article this morning.
Send all your good karma this direction, please
i was just informed that we have to turn our phones OFF in the courtroom Will write about it later

Lil’ Bubba with Bubba at the Travis County Courtroom.
Okay, it’s over. Sorry about that but they make you turn off your phone in the courtroom. I didn’t know that.
The judge will have a decision within 30 days. Everybody thinks Mark did great! We’re going to eat now with a bunch of reporters.
Okay, so Alex Jones did not show up. His lawyers were given 1 and half hours to argue their case and spent 35 minutes of it showing a recording of one of Alex’s shows. It was gawd-awful. Jones went on a Muslim attack and then talked about a female lawyer on CNN but couldn’t recall her name. So he said, “you know, that blonde gal on CNN,” while making big ta-tas gestures with his hands. Then the lawyer told the judge, “I personally don’t even listen to the guy.” In short his argument was, “I know my client is a jerk but he has First Amendment rights.”
It was amazing.
During Lil’ Bubba’s talk he added a comment at the end saying that Jones is now demanding $100,000 from the Sandy Hook parents and that shows his character.
Making their final arguments, Jones’ lawyer said that Jones was now withdrawing that motion and he no longer wants the $100,000.
Yeah, now.
We’re back in court tomorrow to hear that the young man in Massachusetts who Jones accused of being the Florida school shooter and put his picture online.
Good coverage from the Austin newspaper.
And the teevee station.
