Welcome to East Texas, Brother

Charles Landers, who was looking for a place to fish as he drove along a roadway in east Texas when he apparently made a wrong turn onto the man’s property.

He was met by Michael Alan Truelock who is 50 years old and mad as hell that somebody might be in his driveway.

The language is rough but bleeped, and thank God, Landers made it home safely that night.

It’s kinda hard to believe that all this took place in Honey Grove, Texas, ain’t it?

I looked up Michael Truelock’s voting record. He is registered to vote and – surprise – he votes in the Republican primary.  I wonder if there’s guns involved in voting in Honey Grove.

Thanks to Dennis for the heads up.

Scarborough Goes All Howard Beale

June 17, 2020 By: El Jefe

You remember the movie, Network from 1976, yes?  If you don’t, go find it and watch it.  It’s about a major network anchor, Howard Beale (played by Peter Finch), who suddenly experiences enlightenment (or just goes stark raving mad) about the negligence of network television feeding bullshit to its audiences in a continuous stream.  Here’s one of the best rants from Howard:

Well, it’s happened again, for real this time, on MSNBC this morning.  Joe Scarborough went all Howard Beale on Mark Zuckerberg, pointing out his gross negligence in allowing bullshit to proliferate on Facebook that is now endangering lives and democracies all over the world.  This is mass media platinum, folks, not to be missed, though you do have to turn it down a bit when Joe loses control about halfway through the rant.  It would have been better if he collapsed on stage in a Bealeian finale.  Got to watch this:

They Made a List. How Nice!

Speaker Nancy Pelosi is tightening the rules on face masks in House committee meetings following Tom Rice announcing that he had been naked-faced at the capitol while he had tested positive for Covis 19.

Three congressmen have decided to test Speaker Pelosi and refuse to wear a mask anywhere ever.  They are Louie Gohmert, Andy Biggs, and Jim Jordan, who just coincidentally also happen to be three of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

They’ve got death, pestilence, and famine covered.  All they need is one of the cheap war hawks and they can head on over to the stables and get their horses.

Wanna Sell Some Books?

June 17, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

John Bolton’s book had lackluster pre-sales.  Trump sued him and called him a liar.

Boom!

Oh, yeah.

“Trump’s opposition to publication vastly increases the book’s value, and reader interest around the world… And we’re told that Attorney General William Barr has a starring role in the book.”

Trump, bless his scrambled egg brain, is threatening criminal action.

Thanks to Dennis for the heads up.

Okay, Here’s Where We Are At

June 16, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

So, Trump makes threats, former CIA Director under President Obama, calls upon Republican Party leaders to take a stand, and guess who answers … Anthony J Tata, retired brigadier general of the US Army who retired under suspect circumstances, Fox News commentator, and currently pentagon policy chief for Trump.

So, I guess this whole officer and a gentleman thing is dead.  It died of vulgarity. I don’t know why I’m surprised.

So, “suck on your pistol” is the new “lock her up?”

Thanks to Deb T for the heads up.

Ding! Ding!

I don’t know if it’s just me or if anyone else has noticed it, but it seems that I don’t get Breaking News Dings on my phone anymore.

North Korea and South Korea are blowing crap up to impress each other.  Kim’s little sister appears to be crazier than he is.   It’s a damn mess.  But no dings from my phone.

I think there’s a deal to quit sending them because people are already so overloaded that more bad news is all we do not need.

Wait, wait, wait. I just went to check and sure ‘nuf somebody who lives in this house turned off my phone alerts.  I guess somebody was tired of my phone going off at dinner time and me putting my hand over my heart so it will stay in my chest.  Then slowly pickup up my phone and look at it with one eye because that makes it easier to take.  Then hollering and clicking the read more button.

I’m not saying who, but checking the current population of my house does lower the possibilities.
