Getting the Ball Rolling

So, a West Virginia nurse was dispatched to Texas and New York during the pandemic, spoke at the Republican National Convention. I mean, that’s kinda a big deal to get to speak at a national convention.
“As a healthcare professional, I can tell you without hesitation, Donald Trump’s quick action and leadership saved thousands of lives during COVID-19,” said Amy Ford, a registered nurse.

And then she went out and shot somebody.
Amy Ford is also known as Amy Thorn.
Police said Thorn shot Jonda Whitt in the abdomen during an argument, WCHS reported.
Williamson Police Chief Grady Dotson said Thorn claimed she had become fearful for her safety and had told Whitt she had a gun. “She went to the car and got the gun out of the car,” Dotson said, local news outlet the Mingo Messenger reported.
Okay, here’s where I am confused. If it was self defense, why did you have to go to your car to get a gun? Why didn’t you go to your car to get … the hell out Dodge.
She shot the woman in the gut. I do not know where she was aiming. She was charged with malicious wounding. I don’t know what that is. We don’t have that in Texas. However, I suspect it’s a felony so she’ll feel right at home with the Trump administration.
When I heard it last night, I thought it was a joke. It’s not.
“In several phone calls last weekend from the presidential suite at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Mr. Trump shared an idea he was considering: When he left the hospital, he wanted to appear frail at first when people saw him, according to people with knowledge of the conversations. But underneath his button-down dress shirt, he would wear a Superman T-shirt, which he would reveal as a symbol of strength when he ripped open the top layer. He ultimately did not go ahead with the stunt.”
Two things:
Thing Uno: My grandson loves to do that. He’s 6. And, come to think of it, counting the five dollar haul he got from the tooth fairy last week, he’s got more money than Trump.
Thing Other: That’s what steroids will do to your brain.
Thing I forgot to count: I would pay cash money to see Trump rip over anything.
Awwwww … he must like Schitt’s Creek.
I know you always enjoy perusing Louie Gohmert’s campaign finance spending.

Too damn bad it’s illegal to convert campaign funds to personal use.
Okay, so it’s one thing to discover that your New Orleans, Louisiana, parish priest is making whoopee. With two women. At the same time. And the women are semi-professionals. And they have leather and whips. While your priest is partially wearing his religious garb. In the church at night. On the altar. With special lighting so it can be filmed. And they left the windows open for all to see. Someone did and called the police.
I mean, that’s one thing.
But, it’s kinda another thing that the exact same priest had recently taken over the chaplain position at the Catholic high school when the priest who had the job resigned last summer over “inappropriate texts” with a student. I don’t think the inappropriate texts were answers to the geometry test. And on the day the alter sex priest was arrested, the inappropriate text priest decided to announce that he had sexually abused a minor in 2013. Are they having a contest or something?
Archbishop Greg Aymond went to the church days later for a church ritual to restore the altar’s sanctity, the station reported.
I do not even want to know what weirdness that would involve.
Thanks to everybody for the heads up.
Trump claims he will have “thousands” of poll watchers all over the country. Alfredo over at the Dairy Queen is just guessing, but he bets this is going to be the official Trump poll watcher tee-shirt.

Yeah, that’s a Russian AK-47 superimposed over the American flag. And the wearer is probably being paid in rubles and a fifth of vodka.
Alfredo also came across this bit of gasping breath. You know how Trump hates it when people make money off his name and don’t give him a cut? Well, that’s happening right here:
It’s not an authorized committee, so none of this money is going to the Trump campaign – but saying you’re registered with the FEC might bring in more suckers.
And, goodness sake, they are a classy operation.

And then an added bit of fun – after the election, you’ll be able to see which of your neighbors bought this stuff. I don’t think the PAC owner thought about that.
