Duh, Lindsey
Okay, so Lindsey Graham can’t seem to shut his mouth lately. He is filling the Trump Twitter Void with Lindseyisms. He is so afraid that Ted Cruz is going to get attention.
Here’s a lovely example.
“The biggest winner of this whole impeachment trial is Lara Trump,” Graham said on “Fox News Sunday.” “My dear friend Richard Burr, who I like and have been friends to a long time, just made Lara Trump almost the certain nominee for the Senate seat in North Carolina to replace him if she runs, and I certainly will be behind her because she represents the future of the Republican Party.”
Burr has already announced that he’s not running again so why would his vote help her in particular?
The intellect of Lara Trump.
In April 2019, she described German chancellor Angela Merkel’s decision to accept refugees during the European migrant crisis of 2015 as “the downfall of Germany; it was one of the worst things that ever happened to Germany.”
Yep – one of the very worse.
And that is the future of the Republican Party. #CancelCulture
True The Vote
This will not be the first time, or even the third or eighth time, you have read about Cathy Engelbrecht here at the beauty salon. She’s been on our radar for ten years when she was speaking in church basements and VFW halls in the Houston area, pushing the idea that it’s too damn easy to vote. She would get the attendees name and addresses, mostly very old people, and send them requests for money. She didn’t like my questions and quickly named me “that woman” and told people I was a reporter as she rolled her eyes.
She had difficulty giving me any examples of the horror of illegal voting that she claimed was killing America. I could give her a couple of examples that happened right in her neighborhood, but they were both Republicans. She quickly informed me that she wasn’t talking about just two people, she was talking about hundreds, thousands. She just didn’t know any of them.
And then the third example hit. The Republican man she was personally supporting for county commissioner voted in two states for three elections and I had his signature to prove it. I wrote about it in the newspaper and he was defeated soundly.
I once described her as an attractive woman with a dollar sign on her forehead. She always had her hand out. She was far more concerned with raising money than illegal voting.
And now the Washington Post says she’s being sued for taking $2 million from a donor and producing the same thing I saw her produce – diddle squat.
I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did. If you do read it don’t get excited and skip over the part where she’s mattress thrashing with a member of her board of directors. Look, I don’t want to slut shame another woman, but she rolled her eyes at me and that gives me a free shot. I’m taking it.
Thanks to Sam in Minnesota and Alfredo over at the Dairy Queen for the heads up.
‘Bout the Same
A poll released this morning shows that a majoring of Americans believe Trump should have been convicted.
Nearly three in five Americans believe President Donald Trump should have been convicted in the Senate impeachment trial, according to a new ABC News/Ipsos poll that fielded immediately after the trial concluded.
So, that’s right at 58% of Americans thinking he should be convicted, which pretty much mirrors the percentage of United States senators from both parties.
The dude is guilty and we all know it.
Stop the Steal!
Keep your eye out on eBay for Trump’s defense team. They may have some stuff for sale. It seems that Mr. van der Veen has himself some sticky fingers.

Well, since everybody knows he’s not getting paid, I guess he has to make off with anything not nailed down.
Thanks to Carl for the heads up.
We Are Fine
It is 10:45 right now and it’s warmed up to 17 degrees, so when I say I’m fine, please take that to mean I’m alive.
Out my front door.
Deb T sent me a picture taken in Galveston that appeared on Kansas City television. Yeah, it’s that unusual.
Well, we aren't the only ones dealing with snow and cold this morning. It's not every day that you see a snowy Galveston, TX beach. Their temperature as of 8:30 am is a balmy 21°. pic.twitter.com/wyT8Duasyw

Our houses aren’t built for this. My laundry room is filled with tropical plants. My house was built in 1936 so it was built for cross breezes and ceiling fans. We’ll probably be house locked for a week – except maybe Wednesday – but right now, it looks like we’ll have ice on Thursday and Friday.
