Ooo, Ooo. Best Trump Analogy EVER

March 03, 2019 By: El Jefe Category: Dumpster Fire, Trump

I wish I had thought of this, but alas, I didn’t.  But I’m going to steal it.  This is the best, most descriptive analogy EVER of Trump.  Wait for it…

Donald Trump is to the US Presidency as Ted Baxter is to Walter Cronkite.

Boom.

  1. With all due respect, I think I’d go with Boom Shakalaka.

    1
  2. With apologies to Ted Knight of course.

    2
  3. Just saw a clip on the AM tv news shows of the Golden Gibbon at CPAC. Beyond totally nauseous!!! So, thanks for the Ted Knight remedy!

    3
  4. Old Fart says:

    I would’ve gone with Cronkite and Chuckles…

    4
  5. And about as “smart”. Perfect.

    5
  6. After watching clips of dotard45’s performance yesterday I have to conclude: worst stand up comedy routine ever.

    6
  7. RepubAnon says:

Trump is to genius as Einstein is to the characters in “Dumb and Dumber.”

    7
  8. That’s nsulting Ted Baxter.

    8
  9. Teach me not to look before clicking on “Submit”

    insulting.

    9
  10. “Four whores and seven lawyers ago, Benedict Donald brought forth on this continent a new ignominy, conceived in nepotism and dedicated to the proposition that all men are suckers.”

    10
  11. Rephrase:
Trump is to genius as “Dumb and Dumber” is to Einstein. or Genius is to Trump as Einstein is to “Dumb and Dumber.”

    11
  12. Jane & PKM says:

IQ45 is to leadership as an AK-47 is to medicine.
Dotard45 is to intelligence as a Twinkie is to nutrition.

SNL did their best to ‘explain’ DJT’s speech at CPAC, especially his WTF moment of groping our national flag. Again. “After Trump’s #MeToo moment with the flag …”

    BarbinDC @10 – POINTS!

    12
  13. Extending the analogy – – –
Near the end of 2020 Walter Cronkite announces “… the defeat of one term President Donald J. Trump. And that’s the way it finally is.”

Somewhere in Minneapolis (and across the nation) Mary Tyler Moore and a large majority of Americans are “grabbing them by the” MAGA hats, tossing those red beanies into the air, never to be seen or heard from again. The snow plows will clean up the mess.

    13
  14. Buttermilk Sky says:

Ted Baxter was fictional. Trump is all too real. Turning off the set does not make him go away. I’ve tried it.

    14
  15. His *act* of patriotism and love of country by this defilement of the flag should anger even his base would that they understood what desecration of the flag entailed. Surely the flag needs to be set afire after his orange greasy face has touched it. Every time I see that fecocephalic cretin groping the flag I want to vomit.

What really gets me is the smarmy shi*t-eating grin he has on his face that just screams “the uneducated that I love so much are eating this act up!”

    15
  16. J & PKM started it. Here is another couple:

….as is PeeWee Herman to Sir Laurence Olivier

…as is Elaine Bennet (dancing) to Ginger Rogers

    16
  17. Jaime @15,

For all we know, he maybe using it in place of toilet paper in the WH bathroom.

    17
  18. RepubAnon says:

@M: Thanks! Oh, for an “edit” button…

    18
  19. Jane & PKM says:

Donnie is to negotiating as mudslides are to landscaping.

Donnie is to solutions as hydrofluoric acid is to eyewash.

    19
  20. @el Jefe

    +1

  21. Some great comments on this particular post.

Elsewhere last month, a post here showed some photoshopped pics of Trump, with his trailing entourage carrying his very long, but flaccid, necktie. Someone should use that talent to show trump hugging a giant dollar bill hanging from that flagpole.

  22. maryelle says:

CPAC seems to be the venue for Republicans to act out their thuggishness, wacko conspiracies and despicable behavior.
I recall, not too long ago after Sandy Hook, seeing Mitch McConnell walk on stage brandishing a rifle. These people are without conscience.

    22
  23. He looks drunk. And stupid.

    23
  24. Teh Gerg says:

    “As syphillis is to sex.”

    24
  25. I’m avoiding coverage of CPAC as much as possible because I don’t need to vomit. And I have to disagree with the Ted Baxter comparison. Ted Baxter was clueless, and egotistical like a toddler, but he wasn’t nasty and mean and a liar, which are essential parts of Donnie’s nature. I’d rather compare Dubya to Ted Baxter.

    25
  26. What El Jefe, jaime@15, eh gerg@23, and the rest of y’all have said.
This traitorous, treasonous bastard’s desecrating our nations’ flag should earn him an extra rifleman on the firing squad after his (multiple) convictions for betraying and degrading the USA.

    26
  27. Resonance where other people have brains. And not much resonance at that.

    27
  28. Rhea, underneath the ‘congenial idiot’ veneer, Dumbya was usually a nasty mean ratbastard; he’s more like Cheney than most think, but acted as a foil to good ol’ Darth.
Can’t remember the several public examples of it (think one was at a ball game), and others have since stated examples.

    28

    29
  30. As peewee is to Johnny Cash

  31. slipstream says:

Trump called the Congressional oversight committee’s investigation “bullshit.” So very presidential.

I take this as a clear sign the investigation is getting close to uncovering serious crimes.

  32. Jane & PKM says:

Donnie is a stable genius as a nuclear reactor is stable without a cooling loop.

    32
  33. slipstream @31,

May the oversight committee and Mueller nab Rump, his family and all GOP who knew or were accomplices in crimes.

    33
  34. Lunargent says:

    Rhea@25 –

I agree. Ted Baxter was a pompous buffoon, but not evil or malicious. And especially after they paired him up with Georgette, a pretty likable guy.

Trump, OTOH, is petty, vicious, and a clear and present danger to the country. If he ever behaved decently, it’s long forgotten, submerged in the constant torrent of selfish, abusive, and deranged garbage that he produces and spews everywhere.

    34
  35. The Surly Professor says:

Yall have covered the analogies quite well, and I have nothing to add there. But damn, jaime, I really apprecicate the new addition to my vocabulary you tossed in up there: fecocephalic.

And I won’t have to work hard to use it in conversations. Anytime CPAC comes up, that word can be slid in without effort.

    35
  36. El Jefe, aren’t you going to tell us who coined that masterpiece?

    36
  37. The Surly Professor says:

Thank you kind sir. I think that word can easily be used to describe most all of the Republican’ts. Or is it Republidon’ts?
