One Other Thing

October 14, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I have one other thing to add to El Jefe’s thoughts on the lack of irony by Republicans.

By the way, I thought Kamala Harris laid the framework for a later perjury charge in a precision fashion while Nasty Kavanaugh didn’t even realize what she was doing.  Some Democrats I know think she’s too brittle to run for president.  I disagree completely, she is sly and I love sly women.

  1. Agreed. Why aren’t you watching the game???

  2. I agree about Se. Harris from what I have seen she is great.
I understand that there has been some rumbling of disappointment by some activist from when she was AG of California. Don’t know enough to say. But she has been great as Sen.
Time for a new generation of D leaders. Ms. Harris along with woman from Brooklyn and Seattle, both I believe claim some connection to the democratic socialist party,(Which is fine) are prime candinates for leadership.
Just as Minnesota had dual endorsements by D’s and what used to be ( if I remember accurateley) The Farmers-Labor party.
A holdover vestige of the Grange movement.

Kamala Harris is about as brittle as a 12-lb. sledgehammer. She’s awesome! Intelligent, crafty, gutsy, and principled, and she’s only getting better. I’m proud that she’s my senator.

  4. A side light but Sen. Harris when setting the trap for thuglicans reminds me a bit of how Soledad O’Brien used to set up her interview victims, just before metaphorically gutting them, they did deserve it.

I was! I scheduled this earlier this afternoon. The magic of big time journalism.

  6. Harris is my #1 choice for all the reasons listed above.

  7. Thank you JJ, Thank you K, Thank you Debbo!

I thought that Harris was the most excellent questioner of Kavanaugh, but the main stream media hardly mentioned her or the very pointed questions she asked. Because she is a woman? Because they did not understand where she was going? I don’t know why, but I am so happy to see that my friends here recognize her skills.

  8. Kam Harris gets “slid” over by the press possibly because she is a newbie compared to all the vets on that committee who are much known to the press. No worries, though. With her talent, the press can’t help but catch up with her.

Here is another emotionally unhinged female Demmycrat that Drumpf loves to denigrate (asd if he knew what that term means)

Thanks. Looks more like Warren will run. I’d be tickled pink.

  11. Buttermilk Sky says:

The “Pocahontas” slur isn’t even an original Trumpism — it began with ex-senator Scott Brown. Most voters were repelled by the racism, and the rest didn’t understand it. And what is Brown doing now — selling Amway?

  12. I’m all in for Kamala — smart, sharp and takes no prisoners. This is what the Democratic Party needs. Someone who can lay it out in straight, strong terms while remaining as cool as they come. She’s also a generation younger than the present Democratic leadership. No matter how much I like Elizabeth Warren and Nancy Pelosi, there needs to be a new generation of Democrats in top leadership positions. The last two Democratic presidents, Clinton and Obama, were fresh on the scene nationally and in their 40s when elected. At 54, Kamala Harris is the right age in addition to her other political attributes.

  13. Lisbeth Echeandia says:

Kamala Harris is also a bit of an unpredictable quantity for many of the press. They do like consistency and they haven’t figured her out yet I think. I suspect they won’t either. She’s not coy, very direct and not into euphemisms. I really like and admire her.

  14. Lisbeth Echeandia says:

So, I guess the check from Mr. Trump will be forthcoming now that Elizabeth Warren has proof of Native American ancestry? Of course, the whole thing is based on ‘science’ so probably not something that will be ‘believed.’

  15. Jane & PKM says:

Senator Harris is spectacular, as are Senators Klobuchar and Warren. To the misogynist snacilbupeR who are fond of saying, “yes, but not that woman…” let us say fine, we have TWO women to run as President and VP with one to spare. Then I could go on to say ___and then some, but I won’t out of respect to Mama and the ladies.

Meanwhile, the polls were pretty much FUBAR in 2016, so dog willing all those races within the margin of error are Democratic seats. Also not reflected is the ‘itch McConnell shove Beer Bart down our throats effect. May Senator Heitkamp and Beto be rewarded by the voters for that stinking piece of over reach.

  16. @e platypus onion: Warren, unlike Majority Leader McCarthy’s brother-in-law, at least has DNA on her side:

A company owned by House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s in-laws won more than $7 million in no-bid and other federal contracts based on a dubious claim of Native American identity by McCarthy’s brother-in-law, a Times investigation has found.

Ex-senator Scott Brown is the US Ambassador to New Zealand and Samoa

After an early foot in mouth incident last year:

Scott Brown is facing complaints about his behavior as US ambassador to New Zealand, including comments to a female food server

he seems to be staying out of trouble

  18. One of the first things d’s should do is open large wide ranging investigation of demented donnies appointees and staff.
First one up should be mcconnells wife who has been scamming taxpayers money for a no show job in his cabinet.
Bring her up before public house panel and grill her like the thuglicans grilled Hillary on bogus benghazi/ email hearings.
keep her in the hot seat for 12 hours. Show no respect and just keep accusing her of fraud and conflict of interests over and over.
This should help mitchies blood pressure.
