On the Road Again
Friday Toons will be back in force next week. We are roaming eastern WA this week on the trail of the Ice Age Floods. Doing posts via phone is rather annoying and cell service is not always available. And for all my TX friends, i want you to know that a 3 CD set of Willie Nelson, and some Jerry Jeff Walker CDs, are among our favorite road trip tunes.
You still play CDs on road trips? OK Boomer.
1Have a great time exploring.
2If you go near Leavenworth, it’s a delightful little town.
3Fran, Enjoy your weekend! You deserve it. I have a box of CD’s I could send you going back decades. Last I looked at them they had some oldies but goodies like the Buffalo Springfiel that I saw in concert in 1968.
4Half-Empty – as another boomer, I refuse to pay $20 a month for a satellite to play the music I like, and a lot of local radio is owned by the Magats. Besides, I own the opera, 15th Century church music, and Willie Nelson CD’s I like and might as well take them along. I’m with Fran on this one!
Fran – see you next week!
5Thanks, Fran! You deserve the time off. Oh, and I am a CD listener/collector myself.
6I am so old I not only listen to music CDs in my car, but I have a stock of books on CD also. Lots of miles to go this summer. Right after I go find an orange shirt!
7On the Road Again by Willie has been my official tune to begin every road trip for decades…sung joyously at the top of my lungs.
8Willie and Jerry Jeff got us to Spokane, Bruce Springsteen got us home. A CD I forgot we had, We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions (2006). Sang all the way home from TriCities. I’m so old, I still remember all the words to Erie Canal, which dear old dad would sing with us as kids. Who’s with me? BTW, my husband proudly drives his 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander, so yes, CDs. I keep a thumb drive in my 2020 Kia, or listen to podcasts via Android Auto because I’m cool like that.
