Oh Yes, The Facebook
I guess we should have seen this coming.
Texas Republican Senatecreep Ted Cruz told the GOP to stop reading the New York Times. You know, pretending that most of them can read big words.
And that set me to pondering that the first step of any cult is to cut you off from reality. I am semi-intelligent. I can watch Fox News and come away with my values and ideals intact. The same is not true for the followers of Ted Cruz. If they are exposed to the New York Times, they will immediately vote for Hillary Clinton. In medical and psychological terms this is called “stupid.”
But just cutting them off from the New York Times isn’t enough. The Facebook is also a tool of the devil.
Just looking at pictures of your cat or what you had for dinner is far too tempting a lifestyle for Ted Cruz’s Teapartiers. They now have their own Facebook.
Okay, there’s an upside. I only have two Republican friends on Facebook, and now they can go post their crazy crap somewhere else. It’s not that I fear it will pollute my mind, it’s just that I just hate knowing how many people will believe any damn lie that ted Cruz, the NRA, and GOP tells them. And that Snopes has a liberal bias.
Thanks to EMoon for the heads up.
Personally, I stay away from FB…..it can get REALLY interesting if you HAVE TO UNFRIEND most of your relatives..and their friends…..and……
1Yeeeowza.
I don’t mind them playing in their own little yard…except they won’t stay there…they’ll just amp each other up and then rampage outward, sure of their beliefs as “right.”
2People keep pointing out (even Maddow) Teddy’s great education and intelligence and resume, etc. and how he is just playing to the base and will become whatever he needs to be when it is necessary. I personally believe, in all seriousness, when Teddy came to the fork in the road where the “fine line” between Genius and Insanity intersect, Teddy took the Insanity fork.

Teddy knows how to use a fork?
4I can’t look at that snake symbol without thinking of Clay Bennett’s cartoon of the Tea Party Flag.

5I watched Crudz smugly question both Hillary Clinton on Benghazi, then Chuck Hagel for Secy of Defense. As I sat there watching his act, I couldn’t help but wonder where all that gall was coming from….. I mean he’s been a Senator about 30 minutes, never served a day in the military… but when the cameras were on him, you’d think he was a ranking member on the committee, and former Navy Seal. Pompous smart-alec doesn’t even begin to describe Ted Cruz. Maybe he will convince some of my relatives on Facebook to go away with him, and I won’t have to unfriend any more. He’s dangerous in my book.
6And if you click through to the actual site, your browser should warn you that it uses an encryption certificate that is not issued by a trusted authority. This may mean that they want to encrypt their site via https but are too cheap to pay for a certificate from Norton-Verisign or Thawte or one of the other (relatively small number) trusted authorities. Or it may mean that they applied for such a certificate and the trusted authority was unable to verify their bona fides. That 2nd part is the reason why it is a good idea to think twice when one of those warnings shows up.
7After watching Cruz attempt to browbeat Hagel, I wondered what country he represents. Then I checked his donors on the Open Secrets website.
8He is beholden to a whole bunch of not Texas.
Thank you Ralph W. I will now see that as thier flag of intolerance.
9I’m thinking of crashing that little tea pot in character as one of them, then spread the idea that this whole site was started by Obama as a way to track “us” and to know how to find “us” when the time comes for him to drop his charade and reveal his true commu-fasci-social-muslim-Kenyan-Indonesian-antiColonial-antiAmerican -osity.
So trust no one there! Not even me! And especially not the guys who started the site. Because you watch, soon they will ask us for money.
(This will completely blow their little minds.)
In the meantime, we can play these cool games: Industrial Farmville, Inside the Bubble Safari, Realy Small Wurds With Freindes and Angry Birds Who Vote in Gerrymandered Primaries.
10I went to the website fully expecting to see retro-90’s early internet look. But that website looks very much like Facebook. Either Mark Zuckerberg’s lawyers are going to come after these people for copyright infringement or this is a new business opportunity for Facebook.
11I can watch Fox News and come away with my values and ideals intact, but the contents of my stomach are at risk.
12Wonderful news!! It will be so much easier for the FBI to find whoever owns those semi-automatic guns. Now if they would only follow Ayn Rand’s fans & move between the Continental Divide & the Cascade Mtns… somewhere no one else wants to live. We could ‘give’ them their own statehood & Interstate Highways & they could charge a toll to pay for their state’s expenses… with NO federal funds. Everyone would be happy, happy then.
13@daChipster, oh how I wish you would.
14Oh, so you gotta be invited to join. Guess I don’t know anybody that would invite me. Bummer

I wouldn’t care to belong to any club that would have Ted Cruz as a member.
