Oh Y’all. Poor Rick Perry.
Rick Perry is starting his Presidential tour. He went to Dartmouth college and got punked.
The governor of Texas stopped by Dartmouth College, in Hanover, N.H., to discuss “border security, energy initiatives, and foreign policy,” according to student newspaper The Dartmouth, but some in attendance at the speech had a different idea.
The politician received a number of questions about homosexuality and sex during his appearance, such as “[do] you dislike bootysex because the peeny goes in where the poopy comes out?” and “would you have anal sex for $102 million?”
The questioner explained afterwards …
I asked Perry if he would have anal sex for $102 million, which is the amount of campaign contributions he received during his multiple runs for governor. As Packer explained, ‘This particular question occurred in the background of Perry’s moral opposition to anal sex (which we are criticizing), and was motivated by the fact that if Perry has any moral boundaries that have not been carefully selected by a team of campaign managers to appeal to specific constituencies, he has almost certainly had to violate those moral boundaries for campaign contributions.’ The power Perry has accumulated is large and threatening.
Good point.
Thanks to everybody for the heads up.
I thought he was in court. What’s he doing making a speech in an elite university, where smart people usually hang out?
1Did they address him as “pRick” for these questions? Anyway,
2I think the next two years is going to have many political “punkings” and pies thrown. May your aim be true!
The punker is right, but his question will be offensive to many, causing sympathy for Perry. Good thought, bad tactic.
3Rick Perry got punked? Best news I’ve had since the Midterm Massacre.
4Methinks the young lady posing questions to the Governor probably would make a good lawyer.
In that she probably wouldn’t ask a question in court, …to which she didn’t already know the answer.
JMHO.
5Am I the only one who finds the name “Packer” suspicious? First initial F?
6Oh, I am indeed reassured! These brat-kids are OK! The fate of our country is in good hands. Go Dartmouth!
7Perry’s so-called ‘power’ will soon be gone. He’ll soon be known as a ex-governor, just like Palin!
8I second Maggie. Hurray for the loudmouth from Dartmouth. Nobody wants to watch him wandering the country for the next two years. Maybe some folks would be sympathetic with Perry but if that subject had come up in one of our family gatherings all the kids (ages 35 and up) would have hooted and said crude things forcing me to go get dessert.
9And what’s y’all’s take on the continued effort to make the legal meanies quit picking on Perry?
And then there’s the last line:
“The power Perry has accumulated is large and threatening.”
How do we defuse the power Perry has accumulated? Undo CU? Find something that will stop the Kochs and their obscenely rich buddies? What all can we do at city and county levels that we know the state won’t help us with?
10Do you really want pRick to answer these questions honestly? I don’t think you do.
11Heck no. I never listen to Perry because I’ve never been forced to. Lots of bad words could fit here. You think he knows how to be honest? I think maybe he mighta started out okay but the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.
12There is a reason he is called Icky Ricky.
13There is a reason he is called Icky Ricky.
14This is just the beginning of something that’s going to dog Perry throughout whatever campaign he might pursue – his alleged hypocrisy. If he should want to have gay relationships, that’s probably his right so long as he can balance his actions with his family relationships. But if he engages in same-sex behavior, particularly as has been alleged involving subordinates during his travels – and then condemns homosexuality – that would make him a hypocrite in the eyes of the voting public.
The punking of Perry at Dartmouth was not a very elegant move on the part of Dartmouth students, but if not in New Hampshire, it might just as well be taking place somewhere ales.
15How is it that I read ‘starting his Presidential Boor’?
That definitely gave me nightmarish visions of W.
16Geez, that $102 million offer threw Perry on the horns of a dilemma. Not a moral one, an economic one.
