Oh South Carolina, I Love You So

May 03, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

It’s hard to imagine a state crazier than Texas, but South Carolina is holding their own.

The South Carolina state House on Wednesday passed a so-called “nullification” bill that is declares President Barack Obama’s health care reform law to be “null and void,” and criminalizes it’s implementation.

It passed the South Carolina state house 65 to 39, at least they suspect so since finding someone in South Carolina who can count to 65 is becoming increasingly difficult.

Nikki Haley, who has recently graduated from the Jan Brewer School of Charm, said, “South Carolina does not want, and cannot afford, the president’s health care plan. Not now, and not ever.”

Wanna bet, Honey?

No, seriously, wanna bet?

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

These “show off” pieces of legislation against anything Obama usually end up in a higher court where they usually do not survive. Nikki seems to be following in the mental footsteps of Whatzizface Sanford! What a pity!

This could be classified as treason – and the administration maybe should start charging these yahoos.

  4. The last time they tried that nullification idea about 150 years ago, it didn’t turn out so well for them. a prime example of TSTL-Too Stupid Too Live.

I really enjoy your writing. You have a unique and wonderful ability to describe events that just gets right to the real heart of the issue. South Carolina’s number counting problems is a great example. Without that observation we couldn’t appreciate this vote by their legislature’s in all of its “don’t tread on me” splendor!

I’m seriously stealing “TSTL”………….:) It fits a lot of people that live around me!

My, my, Nikki, what a lyrical cadence you have:
“In the name of the greatest people that have ever trod this earth, I draw the line in the dust and toss the gauntlet before the feet of tyranny, and I say segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever.[15][16]”
    To quote from ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Wallace ).

C’mon Nikki, go for it; their next move might be something like a: *”Declaration of the Immediate Causes Which Induce and Justify the Secession of South Carolina from the Federal Union”.
‘Cause it worked out so well last time.

We best post a guard on Fort Sumter.

  8. Yep..fits some of my neighbors too, but most are workin’ too hard and exhausted to much give a crap, and they’re the ones who have needed health care for a long time. Georgia does not ask for much Federal program money…why? The rich foks still dream of slavery, and they don’t look at stats enough to realize it ain’t only black folks needing the help. None of us are going to hell…if you’re in a red state, you’re already servin’ your time!

Can’t remember who said it, but good enough to remember –“South Carolina is too small to be a republic and too large to be an insane asylem”

  10. Geeze, just change the name from SC to Tennessee and you have the same morons running the statehouse. Criminy!

This from the same people who are trying to establish a state religion.
We may have to fight the Civil War all over again. Only the new president of the NRA calls it The War of Northern Agression. How can America press into the 21st century when almost half of its citizens are still living in the Middle Ages????????????????????????????????

  12. Lynne B says:

Hey, NORTH Carolina is also trying to do its bit to relieve some of the stigma of Texas — they’ve given up counting votes! (At least, as long as there’s some chance that the Republicans might lose.)

  13. And the thing is…it’s the Right who want to shut down free speech (look at the attacks on the Occupy movement, among others) and criminalize being poor or a person of color, so the white men get all the guns. That’s freedom? No. That’s “We should get to do whatever we want to do, including imprison or kill everyone who disagrees with us.” How exactly is that different from the worse excesses of Islamists?
