It appears to be off-campus.  Injuries reported.  Gunman in custody.

De ja vu all over again. People in civilized countries must be getting dizzy from shaking their heads.

  2. Let’s see how long it takes to blame the victims for not having guns.

  3. We have to look llike we have lost our collective minds to the outside world.

    Crazy is escalating

    fenway fran,
I have a friend who teaches in a public high school in Singapore. He says the kids are truly puzzled over our obsession with guns.

  5. I am a multi-generational Texan and am truly puzzled and always have been over our gunz~

  6. The downside of this is that people from elsewhere will shrug and say, “Yeah, what do you expect: it’s Texas.” Unfortunately, they’re likely to get their turn (or perhaps already have) soon.

    Damn.

Constable killed was a nice guy. He was trying to serve eviction papers. Shooter killed by CSPD swat team. Apologized as he was dying. Two innocent bystanders involved, one died. Two other officers injured.

Some ass-sorry Momma, but keep reading please- posted a comment suggesting that if they issued handguns to all the incoming Aggies at Fish Camp these things would not happen.

None of these people were students, unless a policeperson was. So how would Aggies carrying handguns have adjusted this outcome in anyway:

…here, hold my backpack man, I need my PISTOL dammit
it’s in here somewhere pop pop pop …

W–T–F: these people are NUTS. We won’t even discuss alcohol, although I might have a drink 🙁 🙁 🙁

Liz — thanks for the details which I was just starting to search for. The guy serving the eviction papers was no bad guy, he was just doing his job. Who knows what the circumstances of the eviction might have been. The same thing could have happened to the tow truck driver trying to repo a car or truck. Some people are just wound way too tight and not wrapped nearly tight enough.

The mother of the shooter identified him, and published a statement expressing the family’s shock and grief that one of their members caused all this havoc and loss of life. She said he had been ill…

The lady who was shot was a Houstonian helping her daughter, an Aggie, move from a nearby home. She is in ICU in a Bryan hospital with damage to her lung. Still no info on the other bystander, a 65 yr old man.

If you are a praying kind of person please pray for all these people and their families. Positive thoughts and general
    concern count in my book.

Latest update is that the other victim is one Chris Northcliff, 43, who may have been walking by-we lived in that neighborhood 25 years ago, and there was always a great deal of foot traffic.

Sorry for the earlier misinformation. One policeman had surgery on his calf and is expected to make a full recovery, and two others were treated for shrapnel wounds and released.

Probably should make a disclaimer on this … I know a whole herd of Deputy Constables and three or four Constables.

almost nothing in law enforcement is more dangerous than serving eviction papers. Take high emotion, anger, embarrassment and add a firearm. Wow. Explosive situation. Wouldn’t do their job for all the tea in China, although I have stood by a time or two when they were serving.
