Yeah, the Royal wedding was fun. I hope the Duchess of Sussex continues to bring the royal family into the real world.

  2. Yeah, someone tweeted that there were more Americans there than at the inaugural.

  3. I doubt the Queen has ever heard a sermon like that in an English church. I thought it was wonderful!

  4. Jane & PKM says:

The UK received a beautiful bride, while all we got was a royal pita.

  5. Bananas says:

Bear in mind that the town of Windsor where the wedding was held has a population of about 33 thousand & is at least an hour and a half drive from London.

  6. Old Quaker says:

As a trained clergy person (4 yrs in excellent seminary) I can say the wedding this morning was the finest religious service I’ve ever observed. Bp Curry was is the creme d creme of black preaching; I loved it. Guess some brits choked on it but Harry and Meghen didn’t. Having been married 48 years I thought “Lean on me” was a perfect piece. Taking care of each other is the mission of marriage. A lot of rules got updated today in St George’s Chapel. I won’t list each little, but significant, change they offered, there were many.

Trump’s crowd set an all-time record for pendejo viewing.

  8. That Other Jean says:

That was a wedding the likes of which the Windsors have never seen–and it was wonderful. You’re right, Old Quaker–“Lean on Me” was perfect. I wish both the newly-minted Duke and Duchess of Sussex many years of joy in each other.

  9. So now we got a peek at the genealogy of Doctor Who’s Liz Ten (Elizabeth X).

To quote my son, “It took us241 years but America has finally infiltrated the British monarchy. Now Phase 2 of the revolutionary war can begin!”

  11. I wonder tif the ga-ga crowd in England realized that when Harry and Meg said their vows what they were really saying was, Britain, we are one people. It may take a bit but I bet it will sink in.

  12. Old Fart says:

    Have fun kids.

Marriage can be a heck of a ride…

  13. Buttermilk Sky says:

It’s actually “Stand By Me,” by Ben E. King, Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, recorded by King in 1961. Certainly never before sung in St. George’s Chapel, Windsor. I loved it.

  14. Jane & PKM, what’s so PITA about Harry? He was once, but I think he’s straightened up and grown up pretty well, it just took him longer.

  15. Jane & PKM says:

Debbo, really sorry, my bad. Should have been clear.

Picture #1 with streets bare to greet Donnie: we received a royal pita (Donnie).
Picture #2 with crowds lining the street to glimpse the Duchess of Sussex: the UK received a beautiful bride.

There’s a t-shirt or a bumper sticker in there somewhere, Debbo. “They got the beauty, we got the beast.”
