Now, If You’d Done This …

You know, Trump keeps insisting he’s rich, rich, rich.  I think he’s not, not, not.

Forbes Magazine, which is certainly not the bastion of liberalism, is raising eyebrows at the amount of money Trump is siphoning off his donors.

Donald Trump has charged his own reelection campaign $1.3 million for rent, food, lodging and other expenses since taking office, according to a Forbesanalysis of the latest campaign filings. And although outsiders have contributed more than $50 million to the campaign, the billionaire president hasn’t handed over any of his own cash. The net effect: $1.3 million of donor money has turned into $1.3 million of Trump money.

Which leads me to another thought I had last week.  They say that Trump doesn’t start his workday until about 10:00 because he has to watch Fox and Friends.  I’m sure that’s true. However, I am sure that it’s also true that it takes him that long to dye and fix his hair, put on his make-up, and find the tape to tape down the back of his tie so it won’t stick out sideways under his neck.

One more thing.  Trump tweeted this morning …

Honey, I wouldn’t trust Steve Doocy with the weather, much less Constitutional interpretation.

If you ever find yourself quoting Steve Doocy as an authority on anything, please go have a brain scan before somebody gets hurt.

  1. Bob Boland says:

“I agree with the President” Who is he talking about? Much as it pains me to say it, he is the President, Vladimir Putin helped make it so.
Is he operating under the delusion that Hillary won? (Well, actually, she did, but that’s another matter.)
That boy needs some serious psychiatric intervention before he hurts himself.

  2. In days of yore, the Doocy character would have been played by a court jester, sometimes a person of small stature who would offset the seriousness of the other advisors with pranks and mischief. In our post-discriminatory era, the leader prefers his amusements by a tiny mind. Even on a big screen, Steve Doocy’s mind and qualifications don’t get any bigger.

Seeing Barr referred to makes me ask if anyone saw Lawrence O’Donnell las night report the Jeffrey Epstein taught at a private school in NYC even tho he had no college degree. his headmaster was David Barr – father of William. They apparently both left about the same time and things sounded suspicious.

Ahh, Steve Doocy; basically, what you get if you provide Louie Gohmert with a makeup artist and a dialect coach.

You know how they say politics is show business for ugly people? Faux Nooz is politics for vapid cuties whose internal ugliness hasn’t manifested itself externally yet.

  5. Grandma Ada–I just watched Lawrence O’Donnell from last night. Something certainly did sound fishy about Epstein and Barr’s dad! Thanks for the heads up!

This is on par with paying plumbers to perform prostate surgery in an auto salvage yard with only their plumber’s snake for a surgical instrument.

How Bill Barr and Trump triggered an insurrection in the Justice Department.

former acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal noted Monday night, every single trial-level expert on the case at the Justice Department pulled out of it.

“This is the canary in the coal mine,” Katyal wrote. “Trump is stuck defending the census shenanigans [with] people from consumer protection division,” who, he added, do important work. But they simply don’t have the same expertise in defending administration policies in court that the line attorneys in the Federal Programs Branch do.

The insurrection was actually quite dramatic and spectacular. First, an initial round of career attorneys withdrew from the citizenship cases in California and Maryland. Then two more attorneys also wanted a public record of their exit from the Maryland case. And then they all wanted off the case in New York, too.

“Never seen anything like this,” Katyal added.

  7. It’s quite clear trump isn’t as rich as he claims. Beside not funding his campaign as fully as he said he would, the fact that he opened his re-election immediately after he was sworn in was a huge clue. Because then he could fund raise, using donor money for whatever. On top of that, he charges taxpayers for using his properties for his golfing and weekends goofing off. Deplorable! The biggest, most huge deplorable ever.

  8. I swear to you all that Doocy will never live down the reputation he had here in D.C. When he was on TV, no matter what, he always looked like the favored son who got passed over. He had a real attitude about how much he was really talented.
