But, most importantly, “Replacement Check?” Really? Is it replacing something else? Did Steve lose the first check? Did it bounce? Is the dirty money the cause of the mess at his headquarters? Is it floating in his hot tub? Does Steve Stockman really have friends?

2Honey, if his desk looks like mine, I can understand how he lost it. But an uneven number? Maybe I need to poke around on my desk. Maybe Exxon sent me a check and i mislaid it.
3You’d think any auditor worth the title would throw up a red flag (or get out the big blue pencil) when seeing “replacement check” in a check register. This just has to be a potentially a material irregularity and must be investigated.
4Yes, I know that if you told Stockyard Steve that middle age men who drink suffer definite short term memory loss he wouldn’t 1.) believe you and 2.) immediately forget it.
5I always knew there were at least 3,000 reasons not to purchase gasoline at an EXXON station.
6The Exxon people usually have more sense than that. I loathe Joe Barton, but he’s a ‘ho’ (sorry Momma!) peddling legislative favors for campaign ccontributions-been just so for years now! He’s NOT a drooling idiot like Stockman, and he understands that he is meant to deliver the goods! I can’t imagine anyone giving that a$$ Stockman money!
