Okay, it all started with Laura Ingraham saying something mean, which is what she does for a living. Maybe you’ve never seen her but she’s a regular on Fox News and Slime Tweeting.
She SlimeTweeted one of the leaders of the Parkland students by saying, “David Hogg Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied and whines about it.”
The students called for a boycott of her show. Advertisers heard it and it’s working …
Online travel website TripAdvisor and Rachael Ray’s pet food brand Nutrish have since said they would stop advertising on Ingraham’s show.
So Ingraham tweeted an apology to Hogg.
Holy week? How ’bout you apologize in the spirit of human dignity?
Okay, I say we let it go this time. Think about this: if she loses her job on Fox, she’ll be the next Secretary of State or some damn thing.
Hey, once Trump gets impeached, I’ll help you tie her to Sean Hannity and let her talk through her nose in his face for days on end.
More like, “in the spirit of Holy Cow! I didn’t think I’d lose advertisers over saying something stupid. That’s my stock in trade.”
I think people like Laura Ingram and the NRA and Republican legislators better start taking these kids seriously. A 4.2 GPA vs. an AR-15? In the long run, my money is on the 4.2 GPA.
1Before I ever went after that psych graduate school program, I was taught that you don’t dis anyone who is going through hell. So the kid was upset about all the reject letters he was getting. It wasn’t only the letters that got to him. Ever hear of survivors guilt? Its rough, damn rough. Some people never overcome that feeling. As for “getting over it”, Ms. Ingraham is not trained in anything but nutrition. That was her forte. And as for her alleged apology . . . well, its about the end of Holy Week and I do not want mamma to wash my mouth out with soap!
2How about we wait until she apologizes for behaving badly, rather than a fake “ sorry if you found my obnoxious behavior hurtful.”

4I dunno – the biggest whiners I know are the ones who are afraid they might have to go through an actual background check to get yet another AR-15 to add to their arsenal.

5I have what amounts to a minor in translation so let me help you:
In the spirit of Holy Week, I recognize that it might not have been a good idea to attempt to crucify a mass shooting victim in order to increase my ratings. Please don’t call my sponsors and tell them to drop me for bullying teenagers, I need the money and I don’t want to be the next O’Riley and have to fall back on my degree in nutrition studies (particularly since Nutrish has dropped me as I’m also toxic to pets).
Wayfair has also dropped her.
6Stuff it, Laura. You meant what you said about David Hogg, and you did what you did because that’s how you earn your money—by picking on others, riling your nutty followers/supporters up to ramp up the attacks on the targeted person, feeling smug and laughing about it, and depositing those rather large checks you receive for doing these things. As my dearly departed parents would have said, “Ugly is as ugly does.” The rest of America’s sane citizens will work toward expanding the boycott against you. My parents also had another saying they loved, “God does not like ugly.”
7And that didn’t buy David Hogg off.

I have had Allstate insurance for nearly 20 years. I just called Allstate and asked if it is going to stop advertising on the Laura Ingram show. After repeating the question four times the customer service rep said she would have to check. I offered to hold while she did. She said she would call me back. I told her if I did not hear back today I will call tomorrow. She seemed most taken aback by that comment.
9I could be wrong, but I suspect that the attack was directed/sponsored by Faux Corp.
Not that I give Ms. Ingram any slack, but the “House of Ailes” was all about control over content. For that reason, the boycott is an even better response because Faux *is* a money making enterprise…
Of course Costco had to end it’s Kirkland branded aspirin, otherwise I would already have nothing to do with any of the companies on the Hogg list.
10As if any faux news followers understand GPA, and, I know it’s old, but I’m ROTFLMAO, at the thought of those watchers attaining anything near a 4.2 That GPA indicates one is earning Bs and B+s in high level classes or As and A+s in mid level classes, and is well above average. Getting into any university is a balance of several factors, but again, why waste breath trying to educate the ineducable.
11We knew the ugly americans would crawl out from under their rocks after the March for Our Lives and they didn’t disappoint.
12We adults need to have our kids backs while they lead this crusade, so boycott those advertisers and speak out in letters to editors and to our congress and stand up for them in any way possible.
But … but … the snacilbupeR are the party of taking responsibility for yourownself. So Laura get about the business of taking responsibility for the situation you caused. In other words, you f*cked it up, unf*ck it. Now.

15Opinionated, your GPA may be as awe inspiring as sunrise over the Grand Canyon and it could still get you nowhere when it comes to college admittance. Easily over 25 years ago, colleges of all tax brackets admitted that they paid too damn much attention to the kids with the highest GPAs and not enough attention to the kids who were a little more down the numerical ladder but had plenty to recommend them. I swear they are now trying their damnedest to compensate for not enough “diversity” in every respect. My daughter applied to 10 schools and got accepted by two. Those damn application fees just about broke us! She couldn’t go to the state school because it was out of state and couldn’t guarantee her a from room (!!!). She would have to find loving off campus. Her father’s head almost exploded. The other school was a private girls college in-state with tremendous respect for student safety (emergency telephones all over the campus, inside and out) plus a really good dorm room. It cost her an arm and a leg (our $$ plus some puny scholarships and a LOAN). She did very well there but couldn’t stay because of the finances. Off she went to a nearby state school and then onward to a second state school a little closer to home. Thats where she finally got her degree. All I can say for this young man is God Bless and Stay Strong!

17Opinionated Hussy, even back at the dawn of time when profs used papyrus scrolls they told us to never count on admission to any college because something as simple as “we already have 2 freshmen from your state” could trigger rejection. It’s much more complicated now, of course, as we admit there’s more to a balanced class than geographic origins.
Then of course there’s the state U up the street that would much rather have out of staters because they pay more. Foreign students even more so, but Donny is doing his best to ruin that.

David Hogg has the right stuff to be excellent in studies of Public Policy and Law. I hope he’ll be offered full paid scholarships to go to any university he wants to attend. I wish the same for Emma Gonzalez as well.

21The worst was using the spirit of holy week as the vehicle for her boilerplate apology. I am sure that resonated well with those in the flyover states, and no wonder why they got that moniker. For me, in the spirit of the resurrection of Christ, she deserves to be crucified.
22Ingram apparently couldn’t stand the heat from sponsors. She has decided to take a break from her Faux noose show for a week. When she comes back she can clear out her desk and leave. Thank you David Hogg!

She was the new face at Faux and supposedly their move towards diversity and away from the crotch grabbers that have been falling by the wayside with regularity over there.

She was the #4 rated cable show I believe after Rachel, Hannity and Carlson. This boycott, in a roundabouts way, also hits home at Faux by at least stifling their mad dog or possibly removing her. This by extension, hits Faux’ popularity and empowers Rachel even more.
