Not The Honorable Greg Abbott! Nooooooo.
I know you are going to be shocked, shocked I tell you, to hear this:
A major donor to Gov. Greg Abbott received an immediate offer of help from the office of the governor after complaining that Democrats and their top contributor were on the verge of defeating a controversial bill insurance companies wanted, records obtained by The Texas Tribune indicate.
Texans for Lawsuit Reform, which should actually be named Screw The Little Guy, has given Abbott $720,000. That hunk of change buys them a billion dollars in unpaid claims.
Yeah, this is the same Greg Abbott who had no job and no health insurance when a tree limb fell on him in 1984. He collected $6 million dollars. He supports “reforms” that make it almost impossible to collect on injuries caused by negligence.
So, what we know now is that his legs are worth $6 million, but his soul is only worth $750,000.
Thanks to David for the heads up.
Damn! Why am I not surprised. Can’t wait for this to hit the mainstream and see the response. Abbott can really jibber his jabber so unintelligently. Now ‘scuse me. I’m going back in the basement where its safe.
1Some insurance companies are the mere spawn of Satan. What does it say about Greg’s ‘soul’ when Satan is a no show at the auction?
2how long till we get rid of him?
3Where’s a bigger tree when we need it?
4Soul? What soul?
Ya’ll let me know when Abbott presents evidence of having one. That goes double for Dan Patrick……
5WTF happened to TX? I lived in Houston in 1975-76. There were plenty of ignorant rednecks, but there were also lots of cool, intelligent people.
6Z, all those cool intelligent people are huddling over at the WMDBS.
7Everyone who read the paper or was here knew long ago that Abbott had that accident and felt that way. What happened at the polls??
8Technically his soul isn’t worth $750,000. That’s just what he’s charging. Though that may be fraud given that he sold his soul to the Devil a long time ago.
9That shriveled, sad, ugly little thing ain’t worth anywhere near $750,000. And that same description goes for…. Sorry, mama. I was about to say something there.
10Again, this man as governor is the direct result of Robotic Voting here in TExas–just wind them up and they automatically push the R button, not knowing what they will get in return. Look at what else we got–Patrick, the Lt. Governor (most powerful job) and Paxton, now facing felony charges–When will they ever learn? Texas used to Vote Smart–they had wonderful leaders in the past who put people before their own politics–Barbara Jordan, Ann Richards and LBJ–I am probably forgetting someone important. These leaders make Texas look like the laughing stock, especially with Abott feeding the Jade Helm frenzy–Where is health care for Texans, not immunity from lawsuits for the chosen few who have money to influence??
11Texas Republican government at its finest! NOT!
12My current state senator, Jose Menendez, accepted a lot of in-kind from TLR during the special elections. I was NOT amused to get their crap in my mailbox.
13look, this is the same state that elected and kept re-electing rick perry, the man with the broken brain. I’ve just assumed that at some point in time, the entire state of TX was given a pre-frontal lobotomy and, well, there you are.
we had that same problem in VA, but we’ve started to recover. ex gov (and his wife) in jail, ex AG booted out of office. now all we need to do is get rid of the nimrod republicans in the lege and congress, and we can get back to the business of leading the country.
14cpinva, I’m with you. Now if we could get some of our crooks behind bars or booted out of office, we might have a chance to reclaim our state. Right now, its leadership is in pitiful shape.
15Wait! Abbott still has a soul? Is it hiding behind his shriveled little heart or in his non-existent conscience? Sorry for all you nice Texan Democrats who have to endure his regime.
16Let me play English teacher:
JJ, you use the descriptive “honorable”. Please justify that with examples. If you cannot, please select a more accurate word. You are on the edge of hyperbole here.
17L Lester, you might mention Sam Houston also, too.
18Well, in all fairness to the payout disparity, the legs were functional. The soul, not so much.
19Anyone here go to meet Mike Collier when he had his listening tour awhile back? He might have some good ideas to help us find a good way to market democracy. I’ve heard he’s a good speaker.
