I was right.  The McDaniels / Cochran race is going to last forever and get crazier and crazier.

Here’s the deal.

Yes, indeedy.  Chris McDaniel played basketball.  In high school and junior college.  So he could not be … you know, racist.  Because he played basketball.

Holy crap.  How can you use a racist statement to prove someone is not a racist?

“It’s been frustrating to see so many people in the black community be convinced that Chris McDaniel was a racist just because someone they trusted told them he was,” the editorial, published on July 2, read. “If they did a little research on their own, they would find out that McDaniel was a basketball standout at South Jones and Jones County Junior College.”

Makes your head hurt, doesn’t it?

Okay, so where are all those basketball players coming forward to report that McDaniel is not a racist?

[crickets.  crickets.]

But not even that.  Let’s just stand in a state of stunned for a few minutes that anyone would use junior college basketball as proof of tolerance.

No No No No No No  Do not do that.

  1. As soon as you say “These are the dumbest human beings God ever made” an even dumber pair will creep out of the woodwork. Hell here goes “These are the dumbest human beings God ever made.”

There. Dare ya to trump ’em.

Donald Sterling owned the LA Clippers, but the “I can’t be a racist, because, because, because” thing isn’t working out so well for him either.

So, Chris, how many of your good college day buddies had dinner with you lately?

    3
  4. Micr, please don’t lay out that challenge. I hate to see the dumb in the universe increase at all. The fact that they breed faster than the literati is bad enough.

  5. I’m not so sure you-all should deflate, demote, remove, do away with, etc, this brouhaha but, on the contrary, encourage more of it amongst the repub inbreds to where even some of their followers might even get sick of it by election time. Do you believe we normal (at least you-all:) people are going to cure these repubs with prudent actions?

He played for the KKK. Those hoods were a real impediment though. They didn’t do so well.

  8. Woop!

These people are crazier than betsy bugs.
    Stoned, crazy, dehydrated betsy bugs.

Uh, were they the Runnin’ Rebels or the Flaming Wizards? That moron went to neo-Confederate fundraisers and picnics. Yeah, yeah, it was all about state’s rights, I’ve heard it all before you jacka$$es, and the only thing the stars-n-bars is good for is an a$$-wipe. Please excuse my vulgarity, traitors bring out something pretty ugly in me.

  10. Teh Gerg says:

Rationalizers have no idea that they are not rational. To them, any argument is a good argument, and everyone else should believe what they say so long as they think they’ve scored an argument point. Logic escapes them, but they think they and their ilk are the only logical ones.

That is, except for the ones who are cynically trying to manipulate the lowest common denominator of voters, who they totally depend on.

  11. So he hung out with his teammates years ago.

Question: Does he still hang out with any of the African American ones now?

    11
  12. e platypus onion says:

In McDaniels eyes,he doesn’t hang out with his ex-teammates because they are Black and they are the racists now. Leaves him looking to his followers as a white MLK. The old saying applies-if you have to claim to be whatever-you probably aren’t.

    12
  13. Doesn’t matter with whom he played Jr. College basketball. He still didn’t win the damned election to the United States Senate.

People in Mississippi, including newspapers…. need to let go of this. McDaniel needs to put on his big boy britches, and get on with whatever life he has. I’m as tired of this as I am reading about a sad, sick basketball team owner with Alzheimer’s.

  14. VintageMomma says:

Preach it, Miemaw. I’m with ya. That’s what happens when you don’t come in first, Chris – you LOSE! Didn’t you learn anything in basketball?

    14
  15. OMG. I feel sorry for his high school and junior college. They just don’t deserve this kind of collateral damage.

  16. Sam in San Antonio says:

Waiting for the picture of him eating watermelon. Do these TEA Partiers have any common sense or decency? (rhetorical question)

  17. A Republican denying that he is racist is like a billionaire denying that he is wealthy.

  18. Rubymay says:

Dang! I didn’t play any sports in high school or college. I guess by his reasoning that makes me a bigot. And all these years, I thought it was because I had zero athletic ability. MICR is right — just when you think they can’t get any dumber…

  19. You don’t understand. He played with black people, real black people!
