No Matter How Cynical I Get, I Can’t Keep Up

April 17, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Trump is siding with the nuts who are shutting down roads and entrances to hospitals because they “want to go to work” and the Democratic Governors won’t let them.

Get this —

Oh hell, these are the people who would let Typhoid Mary work at an elementary school cafeteria.  Or let anybody who wants to say they are a doctor because, you know, buyer beware and those shining crystal market forces.

Be social and share!

  2. Is anyone else concerned that he felt the need to say the 2nd amendment was under siege right after saying liberate Virginia? From the picture yesterday, these are the same people who protest with their assault rifles over everything.

  3. Let’s not forget “Doctor” Oz and “Doctor” Phil – advocating for opening schools – saying there will ‘only’ be a 3% mortality rate – ’cause, what the hell, that’s just a good school shooting or bus accident

“Oh hell, these are the people who would let Typhoid Mary work at an elementary school cafeteria.” Isn’t that the ‘logical’ conclusion to having Bitsy DeVile as Sec. of Evil? Or, every other government agency drowned in the bathtub of Republicon governance. Disband the pandemic team and cheer on the pandemic with the covidiots who are blocking ambulances from arriving at hospitals. Fascists, gun humpers and buybull thumpers: three kinds of crazy served in a Republicon cone.

Let’s face it, this is all about his campaign now (and always). He’s rallying his cult since he can’t hold his in person rallies, (though I’ll bet they’ll start in early May). Look for the AK47’s in his crowds now that he’s bringing the 2nd amendment into the conversation. And now he’s using his Fox News “doctor’s” Oz and dumbshit Phil as his new experts.

Grandma Ada, Covidiot* 45 is not nearly that useful. Before, during and after the quarantine think what you can do to defend your doorstep with a couple of canned goods and an otherwise unattended bra. David supposedly slew Goliath with just one rock. Armed with two sixteen ounce cans of peaches, you could take on A-butt with a shot left over for Ken Paxton.

Although not as big as the Rising Sun, Geffen’s other yacht is also on the list of largest yachts in the world. The Pelorus was also not as expensive as the Rising Sun which was reportedly built for more than US$200 million. Considering the unbridled luxury of the superyacht, the price tag is not surprising.

Film about how arrogantly world governments behave but not nearly as arrogant or stupid as the one on sitting on our backs at the moment.

Intense action and great performances rendered by David Keith and Ryan O’Neal, try not to be too critical of plot or content.

  13. Trump is the kind of guy who as a child, even if he had the measles, mumps, and whooping cough all at the same time, would still round up the neighborhood boys so they could poke a stick into a hornets nest.

And afterward he’d wrassle with them in the dirt.

  14. Phoenix Justice says:

@slipstream The number is even higher, considering that many of the “Republican” states and the US government is counting Covid-19 deaths in nursing homes or retirement communities.

  15. So we are seeing the sequel “Tea party 2-This time for freedom for the Plague”
All these astroturf protests against health measures in the name of “economic freedom” seem so famaliar.
Interesting comparison is the protests for the right to be infected and to infect others is so much like the ammosexuals arguements. Particuluarily that guns don’t murder people do and we demand the right that people are armed so they can murder.
Rephrase to the virus doesn’t spread on it own, people do and we demand that people have that “right”.
Same playbook as the Tea Party funded by the same greedheads manipulating the same fools and idiots.
They must be confident of a new crop of dodo’s coming up if they are willing to sacrifice the lives of the preesent crop of dunderheads.

ps Was thinking this and then read that Digby saw this as a replay of the Tea party playbook as well.

As Coronavirus Numbers Across State Continue to Rise, Florida Gov. DeSantis Allows Some Beaches to Reopen

“Why aren’t any elected officials speaking out against this?”

Edit: Less than 24 hours after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis relaxed restrictions on social distancing in the state, clearing the way for beaches and parks in some areas to reopen, the city of Jacksonville announced Friday its beaches would reopen at 5pm.

Jen Perelman, a candidate for Congress in Florida’s 23rd District, said the decision was guaranteed to make the outbreak in the state worse.

    @JENFL23

If any state could make #COVID19 worse, it‘s Florida.

Millions of people have yet to be tested, yet JAX beaches are open again where social distancing is almost impossible.

As Common Dreams reported in March, Florida’s decision to not close beaches during spring break likely contributed to the spread of coronavirus around the country.

Florida has been fighting releasess of COVID deaths in nursing homes and private prisons, and isn’t counting seasonal residents (a huge chunk of the state’s population) in their COVID totals https://twitter.com/jkbjournalist/status/1251119069832478720

  19. These “protesters” remind me so much of the “Brooks Brothers Riot” in Miami-Dade, Florida back on 11/22/2000, wherein paid GOP staffers “protested” the re-counting of votes in the presidential election. The main difference, now, seems to the the quality of clothing and their gender. This wasn’t a protest. It was an organized pro-Trump rally. Rumors are going around that the DeVos family helped pay the bills for it.

    It isn’t.

  21. Steve from Beaverton says:

One day he’s telling governors to be in charge of how to deal with Coronavirus in their states, and the next day he’s calling for his followers to rebel against their state’s governors. If this isn’t impeachable, what is? How can any congressman not finally say enough? Everyday is another batshit tweet from the orange sociopath that somehow got “elected” as our leader. Seriously, this is dangerous.

    21
  22. Merrigay:
That should’ve been it’s exactly like that. That’s the intent. Sorry. Sometimes I make my own double negatives

    22
  23. Those crowds look an awful like the Teaparty crowds, you know … the AstroTurf crowds that were made up of political staffs, for-hire actors, people employed by major political contributors who told off duty people to show up on their day off if they still wanted to have a job come Monday, and a few rubes and easily deceived true believers.

This is how consent is manufactured. Look for the ‘voice of reason’ where people who really want to reopen the economy the virus and casualties be damned but who claim to not want to because of concerns over safety will soon start talking about how these protests show that the majority really want to take the risk.

Trump is working hard to bring on board potential scapegoats to blame if things go south. If removing restrictions works, and relatively few people die Trump is going to crow about how he fixed the economy. It will be all about him. If it goes south he will have plenty of people to blame.

  26. thatotherjean @ 25:
Thank you. I was just watching MSNBC and marveling at how far down the rabbit hole we’ve come. Trying to make sense of a situation where actual journalists are trying to explain to the best of their abilities something they know is bullshit, because its the best they can do given the latest version of trump reality. It has to be taken into account because it keeps happening, as if it’s true. Repeatedly.

slip, you wrote that yesterday afternoon, the ‘official’ count early this morning was over 37,000 [which we know is gross undercount], a more than 10% increase in one day.
