No, Charles, They Pretty Much Did That On Their Own

January 02, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

You’ll enjoy this one.

Republicans have grown to habitually blame everything on Barack Obama.  The economy?  Barack Obama.  The deficit?  Barack Obama.  The fact that it’s 2013 and we still don’t have flying cars?  Barack Obama, well, and maybe Bill Gates.

They have grown so used to doing this that they cannot stop.

Appearing on Fox News Thursday, syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer said President Barack Obama has successfully broken the will of Republicans in the House and has created an “internal civil war” amidst “fiscal cliff” negotiations.

“He’s been using this, and I must say with great skill — and ruthless skill and success — to fracture and basically shatter the Republican opposition,” Krauthammer said. “His objective from the very beginning was to break the will of the Republicans in the House, and to create an internal civil war. And he’s done that.”

So what is President Obama?  The Dope Whisperer.

In his attempt to govern and to keep us from falling off the cliff, it’s Obama’s fault that the Republicans are square dancing with chain saws.

Good grief.

Then Krauthammer says …

But all-in-all, he explained, Obama will be “remembered as a failed president.”

Honey, if Barack Obama destroys the GOP, then he’ll go down in history as a great, nifty and handsome.   He doesn’t have to do anything else, just that and history will adore him.

Thanks to Ralph for the heads up.

  1. DO these people EVER take responsibility for their own actions?

    1
  2. Ya see? This is why I refuse to read Krautie’s columns and always mute the TV when his ugly mug appears. But. . but. . . you say, “He’s one of the great intellectuals!” Only in his own pea-brain.

So let’s see, President Obama, whom history will remember as a “failed president” has “broken the will” of Republicans, “fractured” Republicans, “shattered” Republicans, engaged Republicans in a “dance of defeat and surrender” (Newt), outmaneuvered the “emotionally compromised weeper” Republican leader (Starnes), defeated the “worst negotiators in history” Republicans (Trump) and fomented an “internal civil war” amongst Republicans (Krauthammer again.)

All them lean, mean, Armey machine Republicans, tied up in knots by the “failed” President. The “worst ever,” some say, and yet, apparently, good enough to beat Republicans like a pack of rented mules (which, in fact, they are.)

If I were the Republicans, I’d be more than a little ashamed by that. But then again, if they could feel shame, well, they wouldn’t be Republicans, now, would they?

  4. It’s like when Lincoln broke the will of the Confederacy, and those 8 people in Hattiesburg still consider him a failed President.

The Rethugs are a cancer on this country. What can you expect then Limbaugh, Norquist and Roger Ailes dictates their policy and mythology?

Our President continues to play three dimensional chess whilst the Rebubs play checkers.
Crying ‘King Me’ before reaching the back line, they allow themselves to be pawned on the side lines, overhead and under. I absolutely love the ‘Smell of SCHADEN FREUDE’, don’t you?

  7. What a bunch of thumb-suckers. Hissy-fit pitching brats. They can all just kiss it.

  8. This insanity will never stop. The GOP has chewed off their own legs up to their knees but are crawling around on the floor whining for the President to give them back their missing limbs. They just KNOW he used some kind of Kenyan, socialist magic to get them to start munching.

Hell, I’m sure if they had negotiated with President Obama for their limbs he would have let them keep some of it (Paul Krugman says he would have let them keep it all—but that’s Paul).

  9. Juanita Jean: You should give the Repubs a little credit.

At least they are not still blaming everything on Bill Clinton.

    9
  10. “A pack of rented mules”, Chipster? That’s terrific!

Thank you, JuanitaJean, and all the commenters here. You make me laugh, every day, and that’s an essential nutrient. It’s nearly impossible for me to see what these Republicants are doing, and not wonder if it’s just some kind of crazy charade; that they’re just play-acting. Nobody can really be that dumb and mean, can they?

  11. Krauthammer reminds me of one of those wrinkled up ole nasty Muppet guys …

Ms. Patty Paige has passed away … God rest her soul!!

Gas is down to $2.76 a gallon in my part of Colorado!!

And, Diane … No, the Repukes have shown they NEVER take responsibility for anything they say or do!!

  12. TexasEllen says:

The old Muppet Guys are Statler and Waldorf. Maybe Krauthammer could be Motel 6.

  13. @TexasEllen for the Win!

  14. Ralph Wiggam says:

It wasn’t Obama that caused the Republican civil war, it was Santa Claus. Our reward for being good little Democrats.

    14
  15. President Obama, a “skillful”, “ruthless” “Dope Whisperer”? I’ll accept that.

    15
  16. Sam in Kyle says:

Nothing worse than a smelly bowl of Sour Kraut.

    16
  17. Criminey! What are these people smoking?!?!? (And where can I get some?) They seem to have forgotten who voted for all the budget busting and economy destroying measures during the Reign of W 43.

“dope whisperer” … I love it!! Thanks, JJ.

    17
  18. “So what is President Obama? The Dope Whisperer.”

    Awesome.

    18
  19. Marge Wood says:

Let’s see. Day after Obama was inaugurated, wasn’t it the REPUBLICANS who said they were going to make him a ONE TERM PRESIDENT. I b’lieve y’all can research that. Now if THEIR intent was to make Obama a one term president, how can Krauthammer say what he is saying? Kind of backwards, isn’t it?

    19
  20. Voodoo. Must be voodoo.

    20
  21. penelope roberts says:

i keep asking people why krauthamer is considered such a great brain when he’s a great propagandist. very inarticulate when it comes to analysis and facts, lots of hyperbole and bloviating when he needs to blacken someone else for his own failings.

    a real gassbag.

    21
  22. Yeeeeesh!!! They all sound like they got coal in their Christmas stockings and for good reason. And Boehner is 3rd in line in case anything happens to the Prez and the Veep! Think about that, people! We need to make sure that from here on in only the most stable and competent people are in that position. (Can’t forget how badly I went into a 24/7 sweat when Newtie held that gavel!)

    22
  23. Uncle Dave says:

Krauthammer is hired to pander to a particular audience, populated by true believers, who are mostly old. He probably knows better than to believe his own bs, but he does not dare tell them the truth. His latest pronouncement demonstrates how desperate he and other right-wing propagandists have become. The risk for them is that they are dependent upon the continued love of true believers who may abandon them for other prophets who better help them ignore a common sense of inadequacy and frustrating feeling of impotence.

  24. Lorraine in Spring says:

Ya know, after watching the neo-cons seemingly rule in the early Bush years, then the arrival of the RWNJ Koch/Adelson funded TeaPeople, I think the GOP is getting exactly what they deserve.

I wonder how Shakespeare would have written this one.

    24
  25. ‘internal civil war’ ??

How do you have any other kind?

    25
  26. If President Obama has fractured the will of Repubs he has done it in the same way that a fan fractures stuff that hits it.
