More of That Entitled Crap

October 21, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

You guys need to know something.  I am a good egg about leaving political families out of this.  I am.

You know there’s a but coming, right?

The entire Romney family is the biggest herd of entitled people on planet earth.  They are entitled to keep their tax returns secret.  They are entitled to take a tax break on their fancy horse.  They are entitled to stay out of the military and to count their politics as “service” to the country.  They are entitled to talk trash about you behind your back.  They are entitled to refer to you as “you people.”

They are entitled to have your boss threaten you to vote for them, because they are entitled to use 5 justices on Supreme Court as leverage.

… the notorious billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch, two key financiers behind the Republican tea party movement, sent a voter guide to more than 50,000 workers at Koch Industries warning of “consequences” if Obama is reelected. Attached editorials by both brothers Koch condemned President Obama and praised Gov. Romney, and a preferred candidate list featured nothing but Republicans.

The practice used to be illegal, but the Supreme Court’s Citizens United ruling changed that when it equated money with free speech, breaking the dam between corporate profits and campaign finance.

Sixteen tons and whaddya get, another day older and deeper in debt. St. Peter don’t ya call me because I can’t go.  I owe my soul to the company store.

I think somebody should be allowed to go around behind them and say, “What would Norma Rae do?”

I will be so glad when they just go away.  I’m sick of them and their prissy ways.

Thanks to Brian for the heads up.

Be social and share!

You and me both. Smaller companies do it too. And here in Kansas – where it could NOT be more Republican if it was owned by Karl Rove himself. I just don’t understand the thinking. This is what happens when unions lose power. The employEE loses power and the employER gains power. There are (not very) veiled threats and insinuations. Even in little bitty towns in “Locked up for the Republicans” Kansas. Voting the company line is not yet “required” here, but it certainly will be by the next election.

And they don’t even give a hoot if they are called on it, they feel they are simply so worthy it doesn’t bear noting.

  3. The do it here in Tennessee. It is terrible. This state abuses the right-to-work law more than any place I’ve ever lived.

The Voting Machine story is going to big later this week. Send tweets and emails to @CNN @NBC @ABC @CMB @MSNBC @chuckrodd @MorningJoe and DEMAND they report that ROMNEYS OWN THE VOTING MACHINES.

  4. They won’t just go away. They need to be surgically removed.

Has it occurred to any of the Corporate devotees of
Rmoney, that the corporate jail system has grown so large that it must be fed? And what better way than dividing the populace so there is a large dissenting group to feed in on one excuse or another. You bet it has.

  6. Eykis: Won’t do any good….Chuck Toad, er I mean, Todd has already state the voting machine “conspiracy” thing is just a joke. And you KNOW which side he’s on.

    IOKIYAR….

  7. I do not and never will understand poor people who will vote for Romney, he despises the poor and treats them like dirt and they vote for him – of course they will never need medicare or social security or health care, my husband and myself swear they must listen to Limbaugh and Fox all day.

  8. And specially Mitt’s prissy little walk!!! Makes me point at him and giggle!!!!!!!

Joan, remember that most people seem to think they *are* in the top 50% or more (regardless their income; it’s sort of like Lake Woebegone, where all of the children are above average), and they think *they* will be the ones getting the tax breaks and the good life. They simply don’t understand that when Willard talks to his “base,” he doesn’t at all mean them. So they happily drink his Kool-Aid.

If anyone is watching Bill Moyers’ program on PBS right now, there is an ongoing discussion about the “haves” and the “have nots” ( or those who don’t have as much). The divide is growing . Mussolini defined fascism as the merger between corporations and the state, and the pure definition is “extreme right wing, intolerant views.” Bill Moyers talks about a “plutocracy” which is a society governed by the extremely wealthy.
We are watching this happen. Where is the outrage? Why are people not marching in the streets? Why are low income people voting for republicans? What on earth is going on in this “land of the free and the home of the brave” that appears to be so lacking in both freedom and bravery?
Here in Dallas I am watching our public library being offered to corporate ownership. The corporate culture is growing interested in our public schools. Our public arenas, parks, schools, and other public venues are being sold to the highest bidders to keep from having to manage our tax monies, raise our taxes, or stand our ground against this influx of money from the private sector. With that money comes power and control by that private sector. It is taken out of the hands of the citizens. The “suits” are running the show. And the common citizenry is losing economic ground rapidly. The so-called middle class has just about disappeared. And those who are poor have become demoralized by being told that they are , on the one hand, victims and , on the other hand, to blame for their poverty. We are in a truly sorry state !

Corporate ownership of heretofore publicly owned business and property is truly disturbing. An excellent example of the foolishness of this is the selling of parking meters in the largest cities. And the idea of any business sector owning my public library makes my stomach churn with fear and dread. Our citizenry is so interested in “who loves who” and screaming about socialism they don’t see the facism and plutocracy galloping (not creeping) up to surround and overtake us. I have volunteered at the County Food Bank here for several years. I see so many people who certainly never ever expected to be using our service. Our business started picking up in the early 2000’s because of lost jobs, lower wages. The Plutocrats are trying to break us (the middle and lower class) completely, and they are succeedng before our very eyes. That Romney/Ryan would even seriously be considered to run our fedeal government is astounding and very disappointing.

  12. Why do poor people vote for their enemies? To appease them. They believe that they’re powerless and cannot create change; they believe the rich will know for whom they voted, if they vote, and punish them. If they have a job, they’re afraid they’ll lose it (exactly the threat made by corporations–if the wrong guy wins, there goes your job) and if they don’t have a job they’re afraid they’ll never get another one. They’ve also been taught to fear “the other” (whoever the current “other” is, from Reds to blacks to whites to “illegal immigrants”) and basically they’re scared spitless and witless.

If they’re religious of certain stripes, they’re also being told God demands they vote against “godless humanism.”
