Major Garrett Can Kiss My Big Blue Butt

July 15, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Apparently Major Garrett wanted to make a damfool of himself in front of 50 million people, and he sure got his wish.

Watch President Obama bust Major Garrett to Private Garrett.

If that question was any more loaded, Garrett would need a designated driver.

And if a reporter had done that to George W Bush, the entire cast of Fox News would be screaming that he emboldened the enemy.

The question about hostages in Iran is a legitimate question.  The claim that President Obama is behaving in an unseemly manner is not.  Nor is the editorial comment of leaving people “to hang out to dry.”

You can take the boy out of Fox News but you cannot take Fox News out of the boy.

  1. Major did not enjoy a career long stay at Fox. Sometimes even the tin foil hat wearers at Fox can get tired of somebody. The boy just did not get slapped up side the head when it would have worked.

    1
  2. And that is how a statesman and leader handles a twerp.

    2
  3. I always like the pause before an answer to questions that our President makes. Thinking of what he would like to say to this person and then saying what he considers a REASONED RESPONSE. I would go apes*** in that moment and would accomplish nothing but raising my blood pressure to the point that my neck artery would be pounding. Not a pleasant feeling.

Just imagine if a liberal reporter asked W if he thought the hundreds of thousands of deaths required to kill Saddam (because he death threatened Bush I) was making him (W) sleep better at night…

  5. Marcia in CO says:

I was watching when this jerkoff asked his question … I watched President Obama’s expression as he looked at that guy … you could just see a long, cold burn coming from those eyes and then Obama spoke and I said, “Way to go, Barack!” This guy is so cool when it comes to dealing with these jerks! I agree with JanetE … I would have popped an artery for sure, as well!

    5
  6. I would have lept across the podium and grabbed him by the throat and bipped him into a coma..

    6
  7. And that, amongst others, is the difference that caused him to become POTUS and the rest of us to be spectators. Well done my commander in chief.

Yes, the president handled the jerk rather well 🙂

Now, who do we have that can come even close to the intelligence, humor, kindness, coolness, and simple class that we have come to enjoy the last six years? President Obama is truly a class act.

  9. It’s that damned nuance that Jebby was complaining about. Cavemen don’t understand nuance nor the fine art of real negotiation. That reporter still won’t understand why those two issues shouldn’t be tied together – and neither will the FAUX audience, when FAUX runs this clip in outrage.

    9
  10. I’d have popped something, but it wouldn’t have been an artery. Well, not one of *my* arteries. Good on President Obama for keeping his cool and giving a snotty question a rational response. I think he needed those few moments of silence to do it, which is not a criticism.

Just why does that minor Major still have a job? Talk about the most insulting way of asking an irrelevant question!

    11
  12. Wow! That’s why I love President Obama! He thinks about the question and the answers, then delivers a smackdown of that stupid jerk! Hail to the chief!

  13. Ralph Wiggam says:

When we have a President that good, it makes me regret the term limits.

    13
  14. I love our President! He is always the coolest person in any room. While he puts up with tons of crap, he never loses his ability to remain calm and controlled. He is truly amazing.

  15. Elizabeth Moon says:

The chairman of the JCS has no business trying to make international policy statements….neither should have those GOP politicians. Five star generals do not command the United States military–the President does.

And no, I could not have managed as reasoned a reply to that scumsucking little toad. At best I’d have been choking back, if not letting out of my mouth, a string of well-known epithets that Mr. President so smoothly redacted (if he even thought them) followed by a longish disquisition on the toad’s ignorance, stupidity, rudeness, and unpatriotic desire to cause a rift between me and MY military command.

He is one smart, cool-headed dude!

  17. @Elizabeth Moon
And to drive a point home, if little Dougie McArthur were alive today he could tell the story about the time he called out a sitting POTUS.

    17
  18. Sorry for the typo. Not intentional. MacArthur. Little Dougie MacArthur.

  19. Hollyanna says:

President Obama has amazing self-control to put that disrespectful jumped-up stenographer in his place with such calm and savior-faire. Hats off to our Commander-in-Chief!

  20. Biggomama says:

Isn’t it a shame that we at last have an intelegent president only to see him besieged and besmirched at behest of the pinheads’ network? The president has endured this with grace and dignity. Blessings on him.

  21. lunargent says:

Wanna have some fun? Imagine Chris Christie or Donald Trump in the same position, getting the same question. Nothing left of Major but a smoking crater.

Of course, it would never really happen, because
    (A) neither of them would ever be able to accomplish such a feat of REAL negotiation and diplomacy, and
    (B) neither of these fatheaded, bloviating narcissists would ever stop talking long enough to take questions from the press.

    Well done, Mr. President!

Wow. I don’t watch news on Faux or CBS, so I was unacquainted with Major Garrett before this. Wow.
