Mainly the Nails Ladies. They Are the Problem.

July 09, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Juanita likes to call herself the Texas Chainsaw Manicurist.  And now that name has some real special meaning.

Mitt Romney had a fundraiser at The Hamptons.   Now, I’ve never been to The Hamptons but I hear it’s kinda like Gulfport, Mississippi, for people who aren’t classy enough to own koozies or sequined tube tops.

Well, some enterprising reporter interviewed people lined up to pay major bucks to meet Mitt Romney.  This one was my favorite.

A New York City donor a few cars back, who also would not give her name, said Romney needed to do a better job connecting. “I don’t think the common person is getting it,” she said from the passenger seat of a Range Rover stamped with East Hampton beach permits. “Nobody understands why Obama is hurting them.

“We’ve got the message,” she added. “But my college kid, the baby sitters, the nails ladies — everybody who’s got the right to vote — they don’t understand what’s going on. I just think if you’re lower income — one, you’re not as educated, two, they don’t understand how it works, they don’t understand how the systems work, they don’t understand the impact.”

The common people can vote in America?  How did that happen?  Well, it must be fixed.  Here, let me explain to them how they are supposed to be poor and I am supposed to exploit them.

Yes, the common people don’t understand how the system works.   It’s just unforgivable that we give them the right to vote.

Thanks to Don A for the heads up.

  1. Systems..my butt (pardon me). Rigging the system is how it’s done: be born RICH, use off shore accounts, operate on OPM, be Lily white, give a lot of $$$$$$ to corps and candidates to make sure the SYSTEM is never broken. As for being educated…make sure it costs TOO DARN MUCH for the peons or their offspring…..you know, the ones who actually do the HARD work….to be able to attend.

Oh..and spend your days around the pool watching FOX.

This is the age old division between the Senate and the House, the House of Lords and the House of Commons. The difference between the Republicans and Democrats. Whether the government should be run by those who “know” or generally by all of us in a big democratic mess. It started as far back as Plato in the Republic.

Some people believe that not everyone ought to have the right to vote. It is clearly evidenced today by the voter suppression laws being made, eh?

  4. OMG! I’ll turn in my voter registration card first thing tomorrow…

I have a pair of shoes that are smarter and more evolved than she is . . .

Maybe those ‘common people’ really do understand how the whole thing works, and that’s why those ‘common people’ aren’t so onboard with Mitt and his 1% gang. Maybe?

meanwhile back at Stately Hacienda Mike…

Willard is a member of the American aristocracy, to whom high elected office is owed and intended. McCain was a member of the Naval Aristocracy who eventually married into money and became at least and adjunct to the aristocracy. The highest elected office was denied him. By a man, who while wealthy and influential in Chicago, was the antithesis of the American aristocracy. The aristocracy will do whatever it takes to not only make Obama a one term President but to ensure that the opportunity to defeat their candidate in future elections is impossible.

The traditional GOP believes that only the born rich can possibly serve successfully in the highest elected offices. OTOH I believe that the gene pool is far too shallow to contain all that is good and right about this country in the American aristocracy.

If no other candidate runs for high elected office motivated by their dad’s unsuccessful presidential run or term in office, it will be fine with me. I just can’t see heredity as a qualification for high elective office.

  9. What the nail ladies and baby sitters don’t understand is why they pay a 28% tax rate, and Mitt Romney pays 13.9%.

    9
  10. Unfortunately, I think she is correct. A large portion of the “common” voters do NOT understand how it works – so they will vote for Mitt at election, against their own self-interest. Just put Mitt on a pony with happy music – and show Obama in serious face with ominous music – and they will be influenced.

What are the chances this snob has ever had a real job? What are the chances she ever had to work to go to college or got a degree in something other than Art Appreciation?

People like Romney fit the description that originated with Barry Switzer (Switzer was the son of a prostitute as opposed to Romney who has prostituted his ideals):
“Some people are born on third base and go through life thinking they hit a triple.”

I keep searching for hope amidst the stupidity of GOP donors, and I found some in that New York donor’s comments.

Her college age child doesn’t agree with her, nor any of the people who serve her royal bottomness. Thankfully, there are more of them than people like her.

I’m going to sign up to pick up and drive Democrats to the polls in November. I may not have a Land Rover or a BMC, but my little KIA can get them there.

Lots of people with great educations are not upper income – think teachers, professors, artists – by god, there are even people on grocery store check out stands who have really good educations – money does not measure intellect!

  13. I would like to take that silly dingbat aside and “educate” her! So I am low income because of lack of education??? I will wager my education (3 degrees in unrelated fields) is far more extensive than hers. The reason there are so many low or no income people is because of her and those like her. We KNOW how the system works. That is why voting them and their greedy friends is sort of like throwing up in your hat, putting on your head and pulling down over your ears.

  14. @ Sgt Mike: What was that again about what happens to the offspring when the gene pool gets too shallow? Could it happen here?

Another plutocratic nincompoop. She wouldn’t want to meet my “nails lady,” who is just a tiny little thing, but what there is of her is all spring steel and rawhide. My “nails lady” knows more about politics and current events than this nut knows about the price of caviar and champagne. Sheesh!

@DJ, although I am not a medical doctor (but a medical doctor has seen me recently) I would say that in order to solve this gene pool problem, every conservative male should conceive one child with three different progressive women and every conservative woman should conceive three children with three different progressive men. This guided reproduction should probably go on for 60 or more years. Only then will there be sufficient depth in the gene pool for the descendants to reproduce without supervision.

This worked on Star Trek the Next Generation. I’m sure it will work in Texas too.
