M I Double S I Double S I ….
Oh hell, let’s just move the whole operation to Louieeanna or Nevadda.
The Boston Globe reports a new PAC aiming to boost Republican congressional challengers in the Bay State had to file an amended Federal Election Commission report earlier this month to correct an egregious error. When the Massachusetts Forward, Inc. — its official mailing address is a P.O. box in Alexandria, Va. — was created in May, the group spelled “Massachusetts” with only one “T” and five “S’s”.
Y’all, there is a perfectly good reason for this: they thought the “S’s” were dollar signs.
Plus, everybody knows it’s spelled Taxsachusetts.
And they want to be in charge of education.
Thanks to David for the heads-up.
.
I bet they’d spell Bexar County ‘Bear’.
1Hee hee, it took me a long time to figure out that a) the “bear grass” one of my then-coworkers talked about was YUCCA plants, and b) that it was “Bexar grass” he was talking about…it’s no wonder I like the Latin names!! 😀
2One of my favorite gifts from my dear departed Uncle Dick was a ceramic beer mug with Massachusetts misspelled as many ways as could fit on it. I think my sister Mary still has it.
3@That reminds me of the still very relevant SNL skit from the 1970s where they spelled Qaddafi in as many iteraations as possible. You really can’t misspell that (dead) guy’s name. Massachusetts? Not so much.
4Ever notice that protest signs that are misspelled are almost never the lefties?
Tempted to make a remark about home-schooling, but I’ll refrain.
5That comment about Taxachusetts reminded me: there’s no free lunch anywhere. Places I’ve lived with no state income tax (read TX and WA) have higher property and school taxes. I also recall Louisiana taxes being pretty darn high for living in the swampy hurricane zone…At least in Massachusetts, they are among the top states for education, health care, public transportation and other good things for the people. Just sayin’…
6The second, third, and fourth letters in Massachusetts really describe who we’re dealing with
7They misspelled their own name?!
8“Massachussets Forward”? A Republican group? What happened to “forward” being a communist term?
9I lived in Mass for five years and really liked the place. Still have good friends there. I got to vote for Ted Kennedy and against Mitt. But I kind of like the way the misspelled word looks, from a design point of view. Almost symmetrical.
(Did you know that “misspelled” is one of the most misspelled English words?)
