Look, It’s *Almost* Good News

July 30, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I ain’t saying that the Koch Brothers found Jesus and some common decency because I think they are way past being saved, but at least we now have the some of the same enemies.

Top officials with the donor network affiliated with billionaire industrialist Charles Koch this weekend sought to distance the network from the Republican Party and President Trump, citing tariff and immigration policies and “divisive” rhetoric out of Washington.

They finally figured out that Trump is increasing the debt faster than a bullet with legs.  Have you ever noticed how Republicans are exuberantly pro-debt when they are in office but swear we’re all going to hell if a Democrat puts fifty cents on the national credit card.

The co-chair of the Koch group lamented that “the divisiveness of this White House is causing long-term damage.”  Ya think?

At least they are finally seeing a little smoke while the rest of us have been sitting in the fire.

Don’t get your hopes up. Koch’s are reliably Republican up until the time a *true* conservative starts talking about AG subsidies with words like “no more welfare” or “let’s start means testing”.

And some news from the fruitcake insane wing of Koch Industries:

I’m posting this since the Proprietess may feel it constitutes tooting your own horn to quote from your own offspring. Sadly, we’re reduced to it being an accomplishment to get Alex Jones to stop calling a dead child the parents’ “supposed son” who “reportedly” died.

In any case, let the young attorney know that we’re all cheering him on. Can a lawyer get a Edward R. Murrow Award for shooting down a complete loon pretending to be a journalist?

  4. I agree this is almost, kinda, a little bit good news. I’m taking it with an ocean’s worth of salt though, because those old bastards still want to control state governments, take from the poor to give to themselves, undermine democracy and generally turn the USA into their own little fiefdom.

But this is an improvement. I’ll take it.

Debbo, easy on the sea salt! 😉

Skepticism about the Koch brothers is always warranted. If in addition to rejecting Donnie’s lunacy they’d taken a few swings at their own previous lunacy in the form of the John Birch Society, there might be some hope for them. But no. Those greedy old lunatics are “just fine” with the misery Zinke is inflicting on the western states that profits the Kochs. Charles and David continue to throw their money around to subvert democracy in favor of their special blend of parasitic capitalism.

I boycott any purchases that might be made at Home Depot and urge others to do the same. There is no way I’m going to allow these a&&es the means to continue to destroy our republic.

I know it doesn’t sound like much, but every dime we DON’T spend there adds up fast.

With any luck the Koch brothers will now want to take Trump down. If anything maybe they can start using their power and get all those Trump paper debts pulled ASAP and force them into bankruptcy again!

  9. The Koch Bros are softening?

Surely not, just after they delivered some-odd hundreds of millions to the beloved Paul Ryan to distribute as he pleases for the current election cycle.

Any overtures made now are to whomever might actually win the Fall elections, but the gold train has already left the station.
