Livingston, Texas.

Welcome to Livingston, Texas, just north of Houston, where men are men and sheep are scared.

You can’t get much more redneck than Livingston.  As proof I offer this —

According to a description from the Houston Chronicle, here is a house flying the Texas flag, the Donald Trump Supporter flag, and … well, Oh Holy Crap There’s Two of Them flag.

Hell, even the neighbors are upset.

Kenneth Ligon doesn’t let his children leave the front yard when they play outside.

He and his wife have lived in the same house for about a decade on Liberty Avenue in Livingston. But about one year ago, he spotted Nazi flags hanging outside a home down the street. Since then, Ligon, who works at night and stays home with the kids during the day, no longer lets them ride their bikes down the street.

Ligon said the flags prompted the family to put their house up for sale, and they plan on moving soon.

“We’ve tried to ignore it, but to be honest you really can’t ignore it,” he said. “The dude’s flags are flying right there off the road.”

The lengths some people will go to win the “Yard of the Month” from the Donald Trump Yard Art Club.

Be social and share!

Some yeaars back a nice young couple moved into a house on our block- we live in ther Upper Midwest. They were from Alabama, relocated by the husband’s company. I can’t describe my feelings when one day I saw a Confederate battle flag flying from their porch. I thought mybe it was an abbe ration but it was out there nearly every day.

I finally had enough. It may have been a cowardly thing to not address them directly but I placed a note in their mailbox telling them this was offensive to a lot of people up here. They stopped doing it and I never saw it gain. It was probably just a cultural misunderstanding.

A Nazi flag is a whole other animal. There can be no other conclusion other than the person flying it hates groups of people and wants to kill them. Symbols have power..

  2. Some very fine people live there no doubt.

According to the Right Wingnuts, the Nazis were leftists because they had “socialist” in their name. Odd how so many die-hard Trump supporters fly Nazi flags … it’s almost as though the far right knows they were lying about this.

Joe #1, I agree. I’ve been around here a long time and there have always been folks in the country with CSA battle flags. This weekend the Chronicle even had a story with pictures of Rice undergrads in the 1920s in KKK uniforms. I don’t think any of those folks would have a swastika on anything. It’s just a new level of evil.

  5. Good luck selling that neighbor’s house.

WTF, no treasonous Stars and Bars CSA rag? A serious omission for a MAGAot.

  7. When I was refereeing football in that part of Texas, defensive team had an easy time. The running backs were only allowed to run to the right.

    Where’s the derelict washing machine?

Seriously, Mr. Ligon should sue them for lowering the value of his house.

  9. AliceBeth says:

I would think it would be very hard to sell a house in that neighborhood. Can you sue for a neighbor lowering your property value or making it impossible to sell you house?

    9
  10. Where are those citizens who when a Black family would move in would claim “not to be a racist with black friends” but complaine about the loss of property values now.
maga flags – the new “block busters” destroying families investments in their homes, by lowering property values, across the country.

Wood burns especially when the occupant is off to a Klan rally.

  12. Rather have city council allow a waiver for a 12 ft solid fence all around this obscenity.
No need for whack jobs to be allowed to embrace martyrdom

  13. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. The First Amendment to the Constitution guarantees freedom of speech. Which includes the nazi abomination in the photo. IMHO billions of dollars and decades of time have been spent using one of our greatest strengths against us.
Against the Constitution that enabled it.

Interestingly enough, freedom of speech is sandwiched between the freedom from religion, and the freedom of the press.
So apparently the first three things guaranteed in the Bill of Rights are under attack from our president.
Hmmm, I wonder how long it’ll be before the rights to peaceably assemble and sue the government will be in the crosshairs of the Second Amendment, which is lookin to step up and take it’s rightful place as our new first amendment.

Uh … I live in Livingston. I drove up and down trying to find this property. Sorry, but I found nothing like this. I think it might be, in the local venacular, hog wash. I showed it to others I know, and they also have been unable to identify it. They live on the street.

  15. Old Fart says:

Out of curiosity, what would happen if you countered with rainbow flags up and down the street…

  16. Lee Bowen says:

Pamela Russell: The house in question is on Liberty Ave, on Cemetary Hill.
