Leaving Faster Than a Bullet With Legs
Well, it appears that the NRA is now less popular than warts.
According to a new PPP poll, the NRA’s position on gun control has become so toxic that voters view NRA support as a reason not to support a candidate
The latest PPP survey, found that 39% say they would be less likely to vote for a candidate who had the NRA’s support to just 26% who say they’d be more likely to …
I dunno. I could be wrong but I think it has something to do with how screwy Wayne LaPierre is. I mean, you can see loco camped out in his eyes.
I would not buy a used car from this man, much less a gun policy.
Now it seems that I am not alone. Way to freekin’ go, America!
Thanks to Diane for the heads up.
Just about lost my lunch clicking on that link, JJ!! That man is one scary, scary looking gun nut! Makes for a great anti-gun poster boy though. Sheesh…
13 little kids shot to death in Denver, CO this morning!
2Had to add 3 more to list…
GUN KILLINGS IN ONE WEEK
3Mon (1 CA): doctor shot/killed by old veteran
Tue (1 AL): school bus driver shot/killed by old veteran
Wed (1 IL): teenaged girl shot/killed in park
Thur (1 TX): D.A. shot/killed outside court house
Fri (2 AZ): businessman & lawyer shot/killed by old man
Sat (2 TX): Navy SEAL veteran & neighbor shot/killed by Iraq veteran on shooting range at luxury resort
Sun (3 FL): Devout father forces separated wife to watch him kill their 2 sons & himself
Sounds like we should ban old men. Being an old woman, I’d go for that.
4Marcia ~ Started a new weekly list yesterday & these 3 in Denver were added today.
The list should be a blog called “USA Gun Killings” – perhaps with thumbnail photos of the victims – just to get the point across.
5NRA weapons free school zone position in 1990.

6The NRA wasn’t always an unreasonable lobby, but they sure are now. I refuse to believe all of their members are this radical, knowing many members. Most of them just want to protect their right to own guns. Reasonable guns, like home protection handguns and hunting weapons, not assault weapons.
I admit I have a few friends who own assault weapons and shoot them for fun, in very controlled areas with very enforced public safety, away from town. They bought them legally and use them responsibly. They are the kind who would be on the front lines should our country ever be invaded (a well-armed militia), God forbid.
The NRA needs to clean house and learn to be a responsible lobby instead of a lunatic fringe. There are gun rights that need enforcing, but knee-jerk attacking every single piece of gun legislation is not going to gain them any respect.
7The picture should be circulated on the front page of every newspaper in the country. Poor, pathetic guy. As David Niven once commented about a streaker at the Oscar show: He’s showing everyone his shortcomings! What he needs is to see people laughing at him!
8Couldn’t happen to a more deserving Special Interest Group…….. i. e. Lobby.
They have managed to “buy” legislation for years. With “their guy” in the White House.
Sunshine, or in this case, an informed public, can sometimes be a good “disinfectant”.
About time somebody challenged the NRA, and it was stopped. Or at least slowed down.
We don’t need to lose any more people to gun violence. Something HAS to be done.
9Perhaps they will turn to Ann Coulter as a more empathetic spokesperson.
10The NRA represents gun profiteers, not ordinary gun owners. It seems that this creates a niche that someone should fill: a responsible gun organization that realizes that protecting gun rights requires being rational about gun safety.
11Noon News just reported that 2 kids and the mother dead in Denver and a 2-year-old is in critical condition in the hospital. The oldest child was 6 or 7 years old. News didn’t say who the shooter was … possibly the mother … don’t know.
It is all just so outrageous!!
12Moms Hugs aka Eve, great idea! We do indeed need a gun homicide/gun wounds calendar or ticker of some sort. It could be daily, weekly, monthly, year to date. Maybe by state would be good.
I’m not up-to-date enough to create something like that, myself.
13So long as the membership fees keep coming they are as happy as pigs in sh-t, regardless of whether they win elections or not.
14Yesterday when talking to my Mom about the old man who shot the people over the dog – not far from her house in Dallas – I mentioned the Daily Gun Killing – today I changed it to Hourly Gun Killing~Mom agrees, at 83, she is truly sick of Texas gun nuts and “nitwits with guns”.
15So sorry, Mom. I just told her I posted “nitwits with guns” – she corrected me – she said it was “HALF-wits with guns”.
16Does anyone know how many NRA members are shot, or shot and killed every year? I tried a Google search, but nothing. 4 million NRA members, 32,000 people shot & killed each year, some of them are NRA members.
17LaPierre is an evil shill for gun manufacturers. By his thinking, there should be no laws because laws don’t stop bad people. Well, he is one bad person and the sooner more people realize it, the better off we will be.
18There have been proposals for insurance for gun owners. For my house policy , I have to let them know the breed of my dog (they don’t like Pit bulls or other breeds they deem dangerous) I have to verify I don’t own a trampoline, but nobody ever asks me if I own a gun??? Does this make sense?
19I assume the reference is to venereal warts.
20@Carol – When my homeowners insurance company asked me whether I had an alarm system, I jokingly said, “yes, my dogs.” To which they replied, “if you have dogs, we have to raise your premium $50 a year, due to the increased risk to visitors.” I tried to reason with them, I explained that they were 8 pound poodles, that no poodle has ever been responsible for human death, etc. but I had to pay the $50. I’m sure a couple of 8 pound guns would have been fine.
21Finally!!!!!!!!
22An organization called “Stop Handgun Violence” maintains a 200-foot billboard running along the side of the Massachusetts Turnpike as. it enters Boston. The board carries a total of children killed by handguns since the 2010 elections; in December that number was 6,248.
23You can find images of the billboard by searching “Stop Handgun Violence.”
Here’s some pertinent news. Be sure to read down to the last paragraph.

24If you put a square moustache under Wayne’s nose, who does he look like? Just thinking.
25LynnN and June are right on the money. Gun sales have skyrocketed
26recently because La Pierre and the NRA leadership are inculcating the fear that the 2nd amendment will be struck down. Ka-ching!$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Gun manufacturers are rolling in it.
