Late Train
Ted Cruz is now making me wonder if he has a metric ton of hydroxychloroquine stored in a warehouse somewhere. We’re talking here about a guy who just won’t give up.
In January, just six weeks after the Justice Department announced a raft of fraud charges against Sam Bankman-Fried, founder and CEO of crypto exchange FTX, Sen. Ted Cruz introduced a resolution calling for businesses operating in the U.S. Capitol building to begin accepting bitcoin and other digital currency.
Yeah, he’s all big on digital currency and the only damn reason anybody can figure out why is (1) Cruz thinks he’s smarter than you and feels giddy about the possibility of cheating you out of all your money, and (2) he’s an anarchist.
Here’s my favorite part about all this —
“Most members of Congress don’t understand crypto, yet they are hell-bent on regulating an industry they know nothing about,” Cruz said in a statement, after declining an interview request.
I’ll bet you some cash American money that he denied the request for an interview because there might be questions involved and he doesn’t know diddle damn squat about crypto currency.
But Teddy does know how much he can make plugging crypto. And hopefully other scams will view him as a viable spokes critter.
1Fled was elected to deal with really important stuff, right Texas R’s? Wonder what’s in it for him. I’m sure he’s not doing this for free. Maybe he put all his money in crypto and now can’t even buy a sandwich at work.
2My thought exactly, Steve. He must have been up to his sleazy eyeballs in crypto.
3As I recall, crypto took quite a plunge not too long ago. If Teddy Ooze is plugging crypto, and it craters, he better to stay out of tall buildings with windows.
4“they are hell-bent on regulating an industry they know nothing about”
Why should crypto be any different than the hundreds of other bills and bullshit these folks talk about?
Is that why they are so big on de-regulation? Because they don’t know jack-sh*t about any regulations–so they think they are not needed? Unless, of course, it is regulating other people’s body or money.
5If you read the post really fast, there is some interest about the guy being in a crypt, but oh, then comprehension comes crashing down. False alarm.
6I do think he should leave his maligned spouse strict instructions that he is to enter his crypt on that last trip bedecked in his Princeton paisley robe. That way the gatekeeper can quickly determine his status.
I remember going to a continuing education seminar after law school on crypto and thinking that the only purpose of this was to hide unlawful activity. That was many years ago, and my opinion had not changed.
7Cruz doesn’t think he is smarter then his constituents.
8He thinks that are stupid.
He lies to them, thinking they will never question his lies or actions.
