I’ve found a bin location near me to place my mail in ballot. I’ve asked the Harris County Clerks office if they will start counting votes before November 3rd but have yet to receive an answer. If Biden picks a VP who will be popular, this may increase the already motivated voters.

2Grandma – the answer to your question is yes, they do start verifying ballots before election day, but not counting. In my county, in a presidential election, it takes about 2 weeks for 20 election workers to open and verify the signatures on the ballots by mail. However, the ballots themselves are not run through the machine to be counted until election night.
