Just When You Thought That Texas Republicans Couldn’t Possibly Ever In a Million Years Embarrass Themselves More
They can. Oh yes they can.
The political consulting firm run by Republican Allen Blakemore has been hired by both the Dan Patrick and Greg Abbott campaigns, two Republican men who are both running against Democratic females Wendy Davis and Leticia Van De Putte.
Blakemore’s consulting firm formed a PAC and registered it with the Texas Ethics Commission. The name of the PAC? Boats ‘N Hoes PAC
Yep.
Not only did they form this PAC, they strutted it in public. And, it’s not like they haven’t had problems with the Hoes before now.
“Greg Abbott’s consultants are clearly taking their cues from Abbott himself, who campaigns with an admitted sexual predator of underage girls, who pays women less than men for doing the same work and who forms his education plan with the ideas of a man like Charles Murray, who argues women are inferior to men,” said Davis spokeswoman Rebecca Acuña.
Speaking as a Ho, I feel it is my duty to remind the Republicans that their entire statewide ticket is all male, all white, all straight, and all wealthy. I thought they couldn’t limbo estrogen any lower, but bless their hearts, they are putting some heavy duty work into insulting women and dragging their own knuckles.
Thanks to everybody for the heads up.
Hi, Juanita! Do you know–what is the “Boats” reference?
Do these guys own boats? Is “Boats” slang for something?
Did they mean to name their PAC “Boots and Hoes” and made a spelling mistake?
1What amazes me more than anything is…. that they actually pay people, in good American money, to come up with this stuff.
2Apparently the GOP cannot be bothered to be original, even when being misogynist. They plagiarized, eh borrowed, the name from the movie “Step Brothers.”
3Like to see a list of donors to that PAC.
4Maybe Angelo over at the Dairy Queen can lay his hands on it.
I just googled Boats n’ Hoes and found a song with some, er, v-e-r-y interesting lyrics. I wonder if this had anything to do with the choice of the name.
5OldMayfly, the title Boats and Hoes is a reference to a song from a movie. The song is so vulgar that it embarrasses almost everyone. I won’t even post a link, but if you must, search you-tube at your own risk.
6You Tube has a video about “Boat’s and Ho’s” starring Will Ferrell! I wonder if the PAC will try and get permission to use it?
It’s hilarious, watch it here at:

7Please, PLEASE tell me that all this garbage is reducing their chances of winning office in Texas, because from what I’ve seen I doubt that it does.
8Remember that Country Western song, “Put another log upon the fire” ? In my head that plays as background when I see stuff like this.
9I’ve given up thinking they have already hit their low point, they always go lower.
I wouldn’t bet on the “all straight” part.
10From a song written by somebody else? Hey, that means they need permission of some kind. I smell a lawyer nearby representing the folks who penned this immortal piece of almost music. Seems to me that a recent political campaign had this same problem, using somebody’s music without consent — and they didn’t give a damn when told to legally cease and desist. Why shucks, ya don’t think they hold themselves above the law, huh?
11Astonishing!
12@11 — One cannot copyright titles. Trademark yes, but that’s a different kettle o’ fish. “The GOP: our boats are slimier than your fish.”
13@Rhea: This won’t register on most republican women in TX. The mindset is so surreal here that it is like living in a Dali painting.
14Juanita! Shame on you! Assuming “Hoes” is about women is terribly sexist! That term covers alot of ground right across the gender spectrum. Believe me, I’ve met quite a few MALE hoes! In fact, there was a time in my youth (granted, a short time) when ‘ho’ would have easily applied to me. (Blushes with embarrassment and a touch of shame.)
15i am sooooooo glad i no longer reside in tx, although SC is just about as loonitic as your local fools.
GOTV get every women to the voting booth
16Aw, shucks … now look what they’ve gone and done.

And here I was really looking forward to Dan Patrick singing a cover at the Houston Area Pastor Council Luncheon.
17HmptyDump — Well, dang it! I’m late to the party again, and now all the fun’s been used up. Oh well, if I wait a few minutes the repubs will do something equally crazy I’m sure.
18Just because Abbott and Dewhurst have to pay….
19Wow. That was a dizzying ride.
20Do not assume all those white men are straight: They could just be closeted with a wide stance.
21And on a slightly different topic, I wondered if you all had seen this?

Sounds like a good strategy to me.
22Well, at least when Perry opens his mouth we all are reminded of why we don’t want to vote for him.
23or you can do like me and move to Virginia in time to elect a Democrat governor and watch the former republicun governor and his wife be indicted.
24It’s okay to leave Texas, people; it’s not that great a place.
