Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
Going out for tacos tonight. I do like celebrating occasions that celebrate things I like.
1Making a calendar of the important holidays for my grand kids–taco day hits the top of this girls charts! I wish their was a decent taco place here in the cold land of Syracuse, NY–alas, I mean Sonoran style like my native AZ childhood home–it’s not safe to go back there, too many crazies!!
2Meant there, one finger and the dang self correcting iPad–sorry guys, and sorry to any AZ residents that are fans of JJ–that alone means you are different than the run of the mill AZ
3Republican types…
ELISE: I used to live in Rome, Ny…….no tacos, but some good pizza!
4Elise – tacos are super easy to make … concoct your own south-of-the-border version and your grandkids will love them!!
5HEY! I live in Phoenix and we are NOT all crazy here. Witness me starting and ending my day in TWMDBS! Does that sound crazy to you? We Arizona 5th columnists are adding blue so gradually that the GOP/Tea Party still hasn’t noticed the increasingly purple color of our politics. Bet we have a Democratic Senator before Texas does, too!
6A lesson on tacos: That picture isn’t of any taco I ever heard of! A taco like that, using a wheat flour tortilla, are rolled, not folded and called burritos, at least in my home state of New Mexico.
REAL tacos are made with a fresh, heated, not fried in oil, corn tortilla, everywhere I’ve lived in the Mexican food world.
7I agree with Dave– my tacos take a fair amount of time–first to make the carne asada and then the tortilla’s and stuff, my own beans as well–and green chile enchiladia’s–so it’s a bit time consuming…but better than any restaurant!!!
