Don’t let that sucker cross the border — unless it’s the one between Texas and Mexico.

  4. The Mexicans are smarter than the RePiggery of Tejas~they would not let GoodHair cross the border – he’d have to go to Nogales, Arizona and cross!

  7. I’m glad I live in Austin. We’re going to stay with the Feds if Texas secedes. But Round Rock and Pflugerville will not be considered part of Austin. We will build a fence between us and them.

  8. I thought you’d like that one. But too bad we couldn’t have stopped the Bushes at the border… Same thing for the wooly adelgid, brown marmorated stink bugs, and kudzu. Time for some pest control in a large way.

This is the best pro-secession reason I’ve heard.

  10. Hey! I live in NE Austin, but my kid goes to Pflugerville HS. Pflugerville ISD was the first in the area to offer insurance benefits to domestic partners, including same-sex partners. Besides Pflugerville has a cool slogan – “between a Rock and a Weird place”. That shows that they have a sense of humor, at least. So, no walls between Austin and Pflugerville, please. When PHS had a mock vote for the presidential election, Obama won overwhelmingly (according to my son). Pflugerville has also been one of the leaders in fighting the ledge about funding our schools appropriately and the overuse of standardized tests.

  11. LOL. The south has a over a 100 year long history of being unable to hold the carpet baggers at bay. But for the past 100 years carpet baggers have been crossing state borders all over the USA to run for office. One prime example is Hillary Clinton. She and hubby Bill borrowed money for the down payment on a home in New York in 1999, so Hillary could run for Senator in a state that neither she nor Bill had ever lived in. Now that raised carpet bagging to a whole new level. At least the carpet bagger Bushes actually had lived here (at least part of the time) for years before they ran for office.

My grandchildren live in a liberal household in Round Rock! I guess they will have to continue to be members of the sanity underground.

  13. I really like today’s ‘Doonesbury’ strip about a 120,000 Texans have signed the secession petition & another petition – “Forget the Alamo” – to expel Texas. http://wpcomics.washingtonpost.com/client/wpc/db/

Anyone watch National Geographic’s “Doomsday Preppers” program? It showcased a Texan who paid $2 million to buy 700 acres out in Nowhere, TX and build “The Alamo” – a fortified compound.
