Just a Feel-Good Story

July 21, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

There’s a guy by the name of Larry Householder, seriously, who is the Speaker of the House in Ohio and a pretty powerful damn big deal in the state.

He’s a Republican and you can pretty much tell that by looking.

Well, it turns out that ole Larry is a greedy man, which is Section 2(b) of the Republican oath. Hey, lying hypocrite took up all of Section 1.

Early this morning Larry and some of his friends were arrested by federal officers in a $60 million bribery case.

Also arrested, according to the source: Neil Clark from Grant Street Consultants in Columbus; former Ohio Republican Party chair and consultant Matthew Borges; Juan Cespedes, co-founder of The Oxley Group in Columbus; and Jeffrey Longstreth, adviser to Householder.

The Oxley Group is in the business of lobbying, as is Grant Street Consultants.

The Republican Party in Ohio has just been gutted right here before election time. I’m betting that odds are pretty good that Bob Barr didn’t know about this.

Thanks to Steve for the heads up.

Corruption doesn’t run in the Republicon Party, it gallops.

  4. Barr either didn’t know or was pissed because he didn’t get his cut of the action.

  5. I’m just surprised it’s being prosecuted at all…must have been REALLY egregious…

  6. What’s the over/under on how long it takes Barr to remove THIS federal prosecutor…

  7. Hey you forgot this…

Householder ran for office in 2018, saying: “I’m a Pro-Gun, Pro-Life, Christian Conservative with the highest NRA rating in Ohio’s history.”

“Christian conservative” indeed. Although I would never use such language myself (pretend you can see me blushing), honesty requires the exact quote:

“Never do business with a religious son-of-a-bitch. His word ain’t worth a shit — not with the Good Lord telling him how to fuck you on the deal.”

  11. WA Skeptic says:

The mind kind of buckles at it’s hypothetical knees when it contemplates the levels of corruption that the “Party of Lincoln” has managed to descend into.

Bill Barr wouldn’t touch this; his boss is getting a big cut of that money.

  12. Bob Boland says:

When you get right down to it this is no surprise. It may have started out as the “Party of Lincoln” but within a decade of Lincoln’s death it was the party of robber barons. A brief look at Grant’s administration will reveal all the corruption you can abide without barfing in disgust. Then there was Harding and Teapot Dome. Then Nixon and his bunch.

If the real history of America was taught in the schools instead of the pablum that is taught, the only people who would identify as Republicans would be self-confessed criminals.

How much do you care to bet that these fine gentlemen get pardoned if Boss Tweet gets a cut of the proceeds, and they all still get GOP votes in the next election anyway…

I know why the “Bob” was paired with Barr.
We all remember Baghdad Bob who claimed there was no fighting going on while bombs, mortar explosions and machine gun fire were So obviously going on behind him.
J.J. just forgot the “Baghdad” Bob Barr, who also lies with impunity while ridding the Justice Department if anyone of conscience or ethics.
