Judas Was A Homo, You Know

May 14, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Okay, as a special Mother’s day treat, I offer you this speech by a typical Nebraska woman against gay marriage.

I would provide a translation but I don’t speak Batcrap Crazy.

Be social and share!

  1. This was made so much more entertaining by watching the guy behind her. He was priceless.

  2. The ignorance is jaw-dropping! Sweet Jesus … how some folks can be so damned ignorant of the truth just boggles my mind! Ignorance and stupidity is a disease of the Republican mind!

  3. ks sunflower says:

You know, if Sarah Palin had been able to trademark the condition of being willfully ignorant, she would never have to worry about money. She was the poster child of the latest movement to be proud of being deeply, arrogantly ignorant. I believer her national profile enabled the current resurgence of bat crap crazies.

I will feel better and be more hopeful for our nation’s future once we as a people cease to vote for these bottom feeders.

We need to stop the dumbing-down of our culture, and celebrate rational thought. We need to teach our children how to think, not what to think. If they have the skills to research, evaluate and synthesize information, they will have the ability to live thoughtful, responsible, compassionate lives. (We also need to provide more care for the mentally ill. They turn up in the media and in campaigns much too often.)

Thank you, Juanita Jean for caring about what’s inside of our heads, not just what may or may not grow on them.

  4. Holy Cats! Just when you think you’ve heard everything…

    4
  5. I used to say ignorance was curable, this one has proved me wrong. Here we have a case of terminal ignorance.

    5
  6. @ Cheryl- the guy behind her is not paying attention to her warnings and is definitely at risk for becoming…*gasp* gay. There oughtta be a law…

On the other hand, I’m dying to know what the woman next to him is thinking, sitting there stone-faced…

    6
  7. @Dave: Well, she is either trying her best not to get into an infinite facepalm loop, or she is slowly trying to come up with a reason to justify proclaiming Pilate was also involved in the three-way.

    7
  8. @ Dave – the two passed notes at one point and appeared to be in agreement on what was written on the notes.

  9. Marge Wood says:

    sigh. bless her heart.

  10. I am a native Texan, but I have lived in Nebraska three different times, from 1980 through 2010. (My children grew up there; my daughter says Nebraska has a “butt magnet” that pulls you back if you have lived there long enough before you leave.) I can tell you that there are some batcrazies there, but I would take exception to JJ’s comment that this is a “typical” Nebraska woman. I loved living in Lincoln (where this event took place) and in Kearney, about 130 miles west of Lincoln. Nebraska – especially west of Lincoln – is a very frontier society and tends to take care of her own and any others that happen to need help. They come from hardy eastern European and Scandinavian stock. I could not have survived my husband’s last years and his death without the help and support of friends, neighbors, and people I didn’t even know very well.
I share your opinions of this person who lives in some alternate universe, (her name is Svoboda, a very common name there, probably Chech origin) but I just couldn’t let this stand without speaking up for the people as a whole. I know full well it’s the most Republican state in the union, but there’s not the corruption there that we see so much here. The biggest problem from my standpoint is that Ben Nelson was elected as a Democrat but voted with the Republicans.
And @Dave, if you listen to the video posted here, then click on the next one when it is finished, you will hear the stone-faced woman’s comments. She’s the mother of a gay man and sounds like a woman I would like to know. And, though I didn’t listen to all of the next one, she sounds rational also.
I loved watching the guy in the background. He was priceless!
Oh! just a bit of trivia: The (gorgeous) capital building, very Art Deco with a tall central tower, is commonly called (in hushed voices) “the Penis of the Plains.” And, less commonly and with much lower voices, the Cornhusker Stadium (just up the street) is called the “Womb of the West.” [Am I allowed to type the “P” word here? Sorry, Momma!] Another caution: don’t try to snatch and eat any of the corn that literally covers the state. (Nebraska is “cornier” than Kansas.) It’s only for cattle and ethanol!

    10
  11. I got about a minute and a half into the ramblings, and turned it off.

I’m old. Too old to waste my time on people like this.

I already lost a minute and a half of my life I’ll never get back, on something so totally idiotic, as to defy description.

Don’t wonder she had to have it all written down somewhere. There’s nothing in her head…. that’s why she wears the hat.

    11
  12. Marge Wood says:

Please watch the next testimony too. It is very good.

    12
  13. I’m with Miemaw. WTH is that poor old crazy woman even TALKING about? Did she seriously just spell the word P-E-N-I-S??? Holy freaking Hannah.

  14. Don A in Pennsyltucky says:

The Crazy Blue Protesting Lady is the heir apparent to Nancy Loft — a.k.a. Soviet Sputnik Lasers in Space Were Mind-Controlling-Jesus. Apparently she has been passing out leaflets — some image copies of which can be found at http://crazyblueprotestinglady.blogspot.com/ She also has a Facebook page of sorts — which is to say it is devoted to her not necessarily that she produces it herself. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Crazy-Blue-Protesting-Lady/195270517151500

Calling her bat-shit crazy is an insult to good fertilizer.

    14
  15. Live in Nebraska and have heard of this lady. She apparently is what one might call eccentric if she was your aunt. Here is an article about her in our local newspaper. http://journalstar.com/news/local/govt-and-politics/video-of-testifier-s-anti-gay-words-goes-viral-but/article_82ec7104-4062-5988-8e56-8effde1ff202.html

  16. Susan the Neon Nurse says:

I’ve seen several articles on this, one quoting a family member, and she is in fact schitzophrenic (in lay terms) and getting as much care as they can get for her/get her to accept.

We can make this a win, though, in a nice way. If you run up against someone being a bigot, you can mention the poor crazy lady in the video, then say, “SHE believes this stuff, but SHE can’t help herself, poor dear.” Raise eyebrow pointedly. “What’s YOUR excuse?”

    16
  17. @Jan, have to mostly agree with you.
More info at http://www.aksarbent.blobspot.com. The woman is apparently schizophrenic and well known as batshit crazy. The lady behind her (with the glasses) testifies later and is sweetly sane. Worth a look at the aksarbent blog.

  18. When you read the articles about this woman … it’s still jaw-dropping what her schizophrenic brain cooks up for her to spout … but when you discover the poor woman is really mentally ill with schizophrenia, it doesn’t necessarily make it “OK” but it does make it not so horribly horrible when you read that her family is trying to do what they can for her and the folks at the care center she lives at. Rather then being hateful towards her knowing all this … God bless her because she really needs it!

    18
  19. @Lindy: Your link takes me to a website called “YouLoveLife – You deserve the best”!
BTW, did you know that Aksarben is Nebraska spelled backwards. Someone years ago thought that was clever. They even named the horse racing track Aksarben.

    19
  20. @Jan: Thank you! I will watch her testimony as well. I should have added a third option of her picturing a number of ways Ms Svoboda should be slapped senseful (if that’s even possible).

    20
  21. Nice to have clarification on this from Jan and the rest. Schizophrenia is awful stuff and the woman needs a bit of compassion (though the “registered lobbyist” status seems a bit odd under the circumstances).

What amazes me, however, is how ordinary discourse, batcrap crazy and mental illness all seem to be nearly indistinguishable these days.

    21
  22. Before learning that this woman is commonly accepted as being mentally ill, I had visions of (apologies to the late Douglas Adams, author of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy) her intestines leaping up and strangling her to get her to shut up.

For those who post this sort of thing: “Does the nurse know you have access to the internet?”

    22
  23. Jan, thanks for the heads up. Not sure where I misspelled/mis-typed the url. Cut an paste of url is http://aksarbent.blogspot.com/2012/05/video-lincoln-nebraska-hearings-on.html
Sigh, found the error. blogspot.com not blobspot I guess I needed more coffee. Thank Sweet Baby Jesus the error didn’t lead to someplace realllly baaad.

    23
  24. Oh. My. God.

    24
  25. aggieland liz says:

Poor thing. And poor family, too!

In a U-turn of a digression though, thank you Jan for offering a perfectly wonderful solution to a common Bryan-College Station phenom. Kyle Field has a butt magnet too!! Works best on maroon or gray sansabelt slacks, I think. I always thought it was the water…sez the girl who has managed to claw her way north a whole 37.5 miles since graduation, sigh ;D

    More coffee, anyone?

    25
  26. Hmm diatribing without actual facts as if they are, using made up words, and being convinced of your rightness in position…maybe Sara Palin is schizophrenic too.
