It’s War, Dammit
Tarrant County (think Fort Worth) Republican Congressman Michael Burgess has finally agreed to have a town hall meeting. Burgess was one of the leading proponents of impeaching Barack Obama, although he never got around to pondering why.
Fort Worth Republicans have declared war. They are not anywhere near ready to cede an inch of lily white ritzy to the dirty scoundrels who dare question the pureness of Congressman Burgess’ intent for his constituents. They are girding up their loins and are ready to hit you with their portfolios.
Here’s how they are billing his town hall.
Don’t surrender the high ground.
Remind me – when did Republican ever have the damn high ground?
Thanks to Don A for the heads up.
Will they have their followers exercising their 2nd Amendment rights??
Boy–maybe Democrat Texans should adopt the slogan “No Taxation Without Representation”.
Y’all be safe out there, OK????
1Good luck (not really) to those .01% snacilbupeR who would like to dismiss those deplorable that Donnie brought to the snacilbupeR party. They’re similar to the religious wrong about whom Goldwater warned them. Sorry snacilbupeR, but those crazies are your crazies and they do love them some 2nd Amendment rights.
2Thanks WA Skeptic, that’s going on a tee-shirt,
3“No Taxation Without Representation”. The snacilbupeR have rolled America back to 1755!
See this blog entry,

and note “The event is free and open to TX-26 residents only.”
Just wow. Aren’t we all TX-26 residents?
4Indeed. Republicans have plenty of ground, unfortunately; but I don’t recall that any of it is very high. Much of it seems to be swamp.
5“Remind me – when did Republican ever have the damn high ground?”
Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away, they were anti-slavery
6When they rolled the clown car and the battery fell out of the bracket.
7Micr, “No Taxation Without Representation” is already the slogan on Washington DC license plates, because DC has no representation in Congress. They also have glassbowls like that congressjerk from Utah who keep negating democratically-passed laws in DC and what DC residents choose to do with their own tax money.
8These new openly White Supremacist Republicans have got the “Heil” ground.
9is this the bonehead that said this?:”It’s ‘a good thing’ if more Americans lose coverage”

Rhea, the actual license plate message is “Taxation Without Representation” i.e. they are paying taxes without having any say in the use of their money.
11The change is very deliberate.
can’t have any of “those” people asking embarrassing questions, wouldn’t look good. it’s funny, I recall, back in 2009, when democrats were holding town halls, to explain the ACA, and rightwing groups actually did bus in people from outside the districts. they proceeded to create chaos, but the democrats continued holding the town halls anyway.
12Bob Boland, yes, I got it wrong. “No Taxation Without Representation” would be the slogan of DC residents who would withhold their taxes until they get representation. There are surely some who are tempted, but it’s going to be a looong time before they win because the GOP knows that DC is blue.
13So another delicate little snacilbupeR flower is afraid to hear anything but those who kiss his pasty white ass.
“If you can’t take the heat, get out of Congress.” Hillary Clinton
14I am constantly reminded that rethuglicans hypocrisy is boundless. They seem only to want god centric country, all white, all wealthy , all their particular brand of hate everything but themselves religion. Well after they rid themselves of all those pesky immigrant types who have different religion, color and values let’s see how the rethugs like picking vegetables in 100 degrees, cleaning their own toilets, collecting their own garbage, etc.
