It’s That Time IMPORTANT UPDATE AT THE BOTTOM
Here I am, hat in hand.
I’m here with Glen Maxey asking you once again to donate to send Ballot By Mail applications to Texas voters over the age of 65. There are small counties in Texas where voting in person means a long drive and facing a prissy election official who sleeps in a Donald Trump tee-shirt just to piss you off.
Grandma and Grandpa need you to send them a vote by mail application. $100 bucks will put an application in 420 senior mail boxes. $50 gets 210. $25 gets 100. Adopt a whole rural county for $50 bucks!
You donate here and you know exactly what you get. There is no overhead. There is no waste and it’s all done by volunteers. Your $25 gets 100 ballot my mail applications mailed to seniors in Texas. That’s the best bargain you’re gonna get this entire election season.
If you had rather mail a check, send it to:
Glen Maxey
PO Box 116
Austin, Texas 78767
Click here and let’s get this sucker done.
Here are the counties that need adopting. Pick one (or more) and make a comment that you’ve done a Texas County Ballot By Mail Rescue!

IMPORTANT UPDATE:
Honey, So many Republicans are jumping ship that Celine Dion’s going to sing the theme song.
So here’s the deal: We are having a lottery on “When Will Donald Trump Resign Off The Republican Ticket?” The lottery is open to any who donates to the cause – even $2.10 for poor little Reagan County where’s there’s only 5 Democrats over the age of 65 and you should feel real sorry for them, dammit.
From now on, post that you’ve donated and what date you pick between now and election day that Trump will withdraw. If you’ve already posted, repost with the date of your choosing.
First Prize: a Donald Trump tie.
Second Prize: two Donald Trump ties.
First prize may be exchanged for a tee-shirt I will order for you have have delivered to your front door from this joint.
There ain’t no second prize so go for the gold, Honey!
Thanks to Charles for the good idea.
Susan:
I just chipped in $134.82 on ActBlue to support you and Glen in this great project. Remember Goliad!
1$50.00, done.
2Smallest amount I’ve ever sent to/for Baylor with enough left over to cover another county. So proud I could help.
3Hope my donation helps get a Democratic vote.
4You guys are the damn best!
5Tried to donate through the web site but ActBlue (which handles the donations) kicked it back and told me that I was ineligible to donate. ?????
I’ll send a check to Glen. To whom should I make it payable?
6Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hope Act Blue loves you as much as we do.
😉 Now that I own a couple of counties of old folks in Texas, does that include needling privileges on Glen? Seems that cash in the wallet stuff includes special bands in the paper and scented ink. Only seems logical to send the contents of the wallet to Glen to and let him deal with the tracking problems. 😀
Spend it wisely, Glen. Remember the last Nevada Gay Rodeo Association event?
7Mark J – Make your check out to The Texas Democratic Party and make a note on it that it’s for Ballot by Mail. Mail it to Glen (see above). Thank you!
8Donated! Blue is such a pretty color.
Seen online: “Texas took one look at Donald Trump’s ego and said, ‘Damn, that’s BIG!'”
9I donated $100. Can we rename a county in memory of my sweet baby mastiff – Gooberville?
10Damn, you guys are good. $2000 in the first hour.
Keep it coming.
11Just covered Llano, in honor of my husband’s cousin and her husband, who think they’re the only Democrats in the county.
12Go Garza and Borden!
13And Thanks JJ, for all you do.
Polite Kool Marxist – BTW if you can remember last Nevada Gay Rodeo Association event, then seriously how good could have it been?
14Oh, and as to the lottery. Last night, Rachel said that he needs to pull out by 9/1 so that the snacilbupeR can get somebody else on most of the ballots.
So – *drumroll* – 9/2/16.
15Happy to help turn Texas blue!
16Dear Miss Juanita,
I just gave $50, looks like I covered Stonewall County. How progressive of them to name themselves after a gay rights landmark.
Craig
17OK … just chipped in $25 to use how ever you deem best! But I sure don’t want a Trump Tie … I might hang myself or use it on my neighbor who will probably vote for that fool and I wouldn’t want one of those t-shirts either!
So, from me to you, it’s just a donation in the hopes that Texas Turns Totally Blue!!
18When will Trump resign? October 31 at sundown so he can join all the other goblins, ghosts, and warlocks in their evil doings.
19I am in shock (except for the fact it’s Texas) you have to pay to get an absentee ballot. Here in Colorado, the application can be done online FREE!
20Larry, I probably did not make this clear enough. You don’t have to pay to vote or to get a mail ballot. However, if we mail applications to known Democratic voters, that costs money for us. Let me give you an example. In my county, we had 403 Democratic ballots by mail in 2010. In 2012, we raised the money and mailed the applications to known Democrats over the age of 65. In that election, we had 4,276 Democratic ballots by mail. It was the first time we even came close to matching to Republican numbers for mail ballots. They’ve done it for years.
21I’m not sure resigning will be the first thing he’ll do. I bet with my husband months ago that he’ll wait until the Repubs are in an impossible position. Then he’ll demand money (under the table, if necessary) to stay.
Once the checks clear, he’ll quit. This is Donald ‘What A Putz” Trump we’re talking about, after all.
22Here in CO, when you get your driver’s license, you check the box to register to vote and whether you want mail-in ballots for the rest of your life! I did and I do … eazy-peazy!! I guess whatever sales taxes I pay here must pay for the postage … not sure just who picks up the tab on that! I just know I always get my ballot in the mail, I mark the appropriate boxes and drive over to the County offices and drop said ballot in the box!! Done!! Hooray!! I want to make sure it gets to the box and not take a detour through Denver!!
23Thanks everyone… we’re at $2500 so far.
And for all you “out of state” folks: This is TEXAS. Of course we have to pay good American money to mail an application to our seniors. You think the Texas Republicans would make it easy to vote? Nope. They’ve almost outlawed voting in their voter suppression bills. So, yep, we have to work twice as hard.
24It should be a federal law that absentee ballots be sent to anyone who requests one!
25I actually don’t want Drumpf to quit, I want him to lose BIGTIME!
$25 for the cause!
As for The Tiny Fingered Vulgarian… I heard a Republican strategist on NPR today saying that the ballot deadline for North Carolina is tomorrow and that other deadlines (including Texas) loom in August.
Soooo… If he’s not out by 8/31, he’s in it for the duration.
26Motley County just got $11.76 from me.
I wanted to do this last time you wrote about it, and I forgot. So happy to contribute this time.
Also I LOVE the tee shirts. I want the one with Hillary on a dragon!
27$100.00 for the ballots.
28$25 which should cover either Baylor or Callahan with a bit to spare. I predict September 3. Susan F and I will be taking the ladies from the Rainbow Sunday School Classwe team teach to Kingdom Kamp near Schulenberg that morning.
29Glen Maxey, you are a good man.
$30 from SC being mailed in. I predict 9/11 for the talking Yam’s demise. His big ego has to upstage that somber day.
30Ok, kids. We’re about to hit $3000. Keep those donations a flowin’
31OK, I just sprung for McMullen, Menard, and Kenedy counties, all of 90 Dem geezers eking it out there (like me, but I didn’t see my counties on the list?).
32All three of those counties are sparsely populated, I’ve driven through them dozens/hundreds of times (thousands for Kenedy). Not even too many places to stop therein, and then just a 0’darkthirty ‘side of the road’ leak stop, heheh.
.
Predicting tRump will not withdraw, resign, or the like. But he might just have a most curious ‘accident’, maybe.
No tRump tie for Dawgs sake, and it don’t look like those tees come in my size (I’m 6’5″, and no longer exactly ‘svelte’, heheh).
I sure hope that the TDP doesn’t waste anything on mailing or calling me, I do not respond to that stuff, period.
I’d like to see Trump stay in and go down in flames, possibly literally. But if it becomes obvious even to his colossal ego that he’s going to lose, he’ll probably pull out (like his father should have) and blame everybody under the sun except himself for a “rigged” election. Unlike Hitler, he won’t have the guts to kill himself. But I wonder if his loony and armed-to-the-teeth backers will then riot in the streets and defy government authority even more than they do already.
33$250 for the ballot. If Texas flips blue and we elect a female President, my life is pretty much complete.
I read today that the Clinton campaign has quietly moved its political ad funds from Colorado and New Mexico to some Southern states that might be in play.
34Oh! I forgot to pick a date. I’ll go with October 17, anniversary of the Loma Prieta quake.
I don’t actually think he’ll pull out. I think he’ll stay in, crying about rigged elections and doing everything he can to poison the well.
35I kicked in because my poor daughter, son-in-law and grandbabies are Dems in Texas and I want to help them!
I will choose October 18, because that would be a great birthday present for me!
36I’ll kick in even though I live in NC (The Research Triangle is pretty liberal…. most of us are from someplace else), but the tee shirt really, REALLY needs one about my favorite Texan… Molly Ivins. Although Ann Richards is a close second.
37I chipped in $50 for Andrews County, because it was named for my ancestors including the first Texan to die in the War for Texas Independence. (How do they know he was first? From eyewitness account: he thought the battle of Concepcion was over, stood up, and got shot. No, not an ancestor of Louie G.) Might help a little to make up for my TX cousin who said she was giving all her grandchildren Glocks for Christmas so they can shoot liberals.
38PS, I will go with Sept 16, but I think he’s staying all the way.
39Chipped in from Los Angeles. Sept. 11……
40Didn’t see any allocations to the mail in ballot program on the website. Just said Act Blue. Hope there was something in the link.
41Just donated $100 for mail in ballot campaign.
42Hmmm. I got to thinking about the lottery and when The Donald might pull out. Then I got to thinking about how. And today gave him the perfect out.
So here, in his own words, is HOW I predict he will get out of the race:
“I’ve decided to withdraw from the presidential election because the bully American media has been unfair, so unfair, to my beautiful wife Malenia. They have smeared her SO badly — you wouldn’t believe it. Very unfair. She didn’t come into this country illegally and yet the bully media just won’t leave her alone about that. They’ve been so unfair about it. Very mean. And it’s just not true and she has proved it over and over but no one will listen. The bully media — well — that’s just it. They’re bullies. So unfair.
“And they said she plagiarized Michelle Obama’s speech when, clearly she didn’t. Believe me. Those are just words. Everybody uses words. Michelle used words. Malenia used words. Those are common words, too. The commonest. Everybody has them — so how could Malenia have stolen them? They’re almost public property. But again, the bully media is just a bully and won’t leave her alone.
“So, in loyalty to my wife, I must withdraw from the nomination. I don’t want to but the bully media is making me do it. I would never do it, believe me, but I’m being forced out by the bully media because I love my wife. It’s so unfair. Very unfair. I have to be honest. Believe me.”
So there you have it on record — in his own words. In Donald Trump World, it’s everyone else’s fault. He’s the victim and can get out before he loses.
43Two Crows … you nailed it!! It will be more then ironic if this is the route Dumbo Donnie uses!! Even more ironic would be if he states it verbatim!! LOL
44Two Crows: That’s AWESOME. All caps. Marcia in Co.: That really would be ironic. What with the whole plagiarism thing. But everything about it is right on the money.”I have to be honest. Believe me.” Hey J J. Is there a deadline for donations?
4530.00$ to cover Hamilton County. Glad to have the opportunity.
46Hi P.P. – Yes, there is a deadline. We have to have the money in the bank by September 1st. I’ll post it again two weeks from now unless we meet our goal.
Y’all are the best! Here’s hoping Glen will give us an up-to-date report soon.
47Just donated to cover wherever it is needed.
I met a woman on the Metro today she is visiting DC with her grand-daughter. Not knowing where she stood on the election I tip toed around the topic. She said she voted Republican all her life until this year. She is voting for Clinton this November. I hugged her.
I am looking forward to seeing a blue Texas in November.
48Oh and I think he is staying in the race. He will continue to loudly and more often scream that the race is rigged. He said the same thing about the R primary does that mean he is the one rigged it?
He is so in debt to Putin I would not be surprised to learn Putin is pulling the strings. I know I sound like a fictional spy novel. Putin was head of the KGB.
49Loving Sherman! I don’t know if a man with that many kids believes in pulling out.
