I’m Shocked, Shocked I Tell You!
Sarah Palin’s PAC is a scam.
I know, unbelievable, right?
For the two-year 2014 cycle, the former Alaska governor’s PAC, a vehicle that helps her stay in the game amid talk that she may run in the 2016 presidential contest, has raised $2.5 million on top of more than $1.1 million that was in the bank at the start of the cycle. It has spent $2.7 million, with about $150,000 — or 5.5 percent — going to candidates.
That’s legal but it ain’t right.
What does her money go for? Mostly consultants who do research and write speeches, and in my opinion they should be charged with theft.
She also uses it for travel.
A lump sum of $13,000 was listed as being spent for “lodging, SUV rental, books for donors.”
And stuff.
And the PAC sent $10,885 to HarperCollins — publisher of all three of Palin’s books — for “books for donor fulfillment.”
Who would have ever suspected that Sarah was using something for herself instead of helping others?
Thanks to Brian for the heads up.
She’s not called Grifterella without a reason.
1I always kinda thought she qualified as a “media hooker”.
2“books for donor fulfillment”
No, I won’t let my imagination go there……
3Grifters gotta grift. True yesterday, true today, true tomorrow.
4Soooooooooo the Siberian Snooki has raised several millions for a run at POTUS nomination in 2016…?
5Meanwhile our own Guv pRick has has raised several hundreds for a run at POTUS nomination in 2016.
I’m not hugely into finance, but wouldn’t love to see the KochBros spreadsheet under “net present value” for these two, and compare.
The TeabagGOP gotta present the base a better quality criminal for indictment and election. Maybe pRick should host a benefit car wash or bake sale to help his campaign out of the red. So to speak.
I think she considers her daughters “consultants” too.
6Give it up Rick, even the Wasilla Wendigo is out grifting you.
7I still say this isn’t a bad thing. For every dollar the Grifter gets from her fans, that’s only a nickel that goes to real candidates running for office. We should think of her as a money diluter for the Republican party. Otherwise, that dollar would buy 20X as much in bs advertising.
8Sarah’s PAC is for Sarah? You can take that to the bank! Well, she can anyway.
9In addition to all the PAC money being spent “on behalf” of Druzilla Snowgrifter, some of it is finding a way directly into her pocket. It’s a scam she’s used in the past, often. Here’s how it works.
Everybody who attends some sort of function gets a book, half-written by the half-term half-baked Alaskan gov. FREE! Who pays for the books? The PAC. Who does the PAC pay? The publisher. And who does the publisher send royalty checks to every month?
Ah HAH!
10I wish Eric Holder would find a way to get her up on charges, as long as the pile of corruption charges keep piling up on that group.
11SarahPAC, also known as Grifters R Us.
12I find it amazing that the IRS or whichever entity has jurisdiction here allows such sloppy bookkeeping. Just lumping a bunch of disparate items together does not meet generally accepted norms for reporting expenses! This can be added to all the other nefarious activities in which she has been involved with over the last few decades. I hope it all comes back and bites her and that she gets to wear lovely orange overalls with silver bracelets for a few decades also, too!
131smartcanerican™, I believe Darrell the Arsonist Issa is best positioned to explain why his investigation of the IRS focused on the IRS and not the people they were investigating.
If the IRS went out fangs bared, there would be a considerable number of ‘religious’ pretenders paying taxes and $ister $arah doing some prison time.
Squirrel! Benghazi! Squirrel!™ In honor of pRick, OOPs, Ebola! That’s the third, really.
1smartcanerican™, it’s not just the IRS, Congress, the FEC and another whole group of ineffectual alphabet soup. The top law of the land isn’t collecting mega back taxes from Cliven Bundy, nor arresting the moocher militia for their crimes. Why?
I don’t know. Causing heads to explode at Flatulent News seems like a an excellent plan.
14The more money Sarah siphons off, the less there is for Republican candidates. I don’t see a problem here…
15@RepubAnon: I agree as long as she’s putting it up her nose or in her arm. I guess i’m concerned she’s microfunding right wing start ups with whatever is left over from her recreations.
16$arah who?
17She got people out there to donate $2.5 million over the last two years? Dementia among donors is more widespread than I thought.
