I’m Just Exhausted

August 16, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Y’all, the past few day have been one hell of a year.

I am exhausted.

I have Trump fatigue.  He is unhinged, and not even a United State General can fix that.

I’ll post some toons and any breaking news, but I need a few days and a couple of baseball games to get my feet back under myself.  My happiness is on backorder.

I know the feeling, JJ … I, too, am exhausted, depressed and just plain sick & tired of all the turmoil.

Go … rest up! We’ll still be here when you get back!

    Love & Hugs!! 🙂

  3. That is exactly how I feel, you need to get away from this horror for a while. It is relentless…

  4. Every once in awhile I remember, this is Trump on vacation.
And I wonder, can it be intentional, is this what he does to relax?

No wonder everyone around him has that expression on their face.

Speaking of (Fascists) and Confederates, this writer says it about as well as anybody. Damned good read, and a good flag graphic you can steal.

    https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2017/8/16/1690292/-This-Isn-t-Rocket-Science

I’ll quote a little, oh hell, almost the whole thing, it needs exposure:
“I cannot believe the number of idiot Americans and conservative pundits trying to use the Confederate monument issue to try to equate that with Jefferson and Washington being slave owners, as though somehow that should justify leaving them in place otherwise everyone is a hypocrite.

    Are you f**king kidding me?!?!

Let’s get a few facts straight:

    1. Although absolutely reprehensible that Washington and Jefferson (and other founding fathers) owned and exploited human beings for economic gain, they were instrumental in creating a UNITED country, flawed as they, and it, was.

    2. The Confederacy sought to CONTINUE to exercise the right to brutally kidnap and separate human beings from their country of origin and their families to continue that oppression and economic exploitation long after it became obvious to many that it was morally reprehensible to continue. They were ISIS-style terrorists who sought to oppress and control a population of disenfranchised human beings and bend them to their will and to do so, they were willing to DESTROY the United States and split it into two separate countries. They wanted the “freedom” to mass-murder, human traffic, and oppress.

    3. In pursuing this goal, they became traitors to the ideals that were meant to bind us as a nation and committed an act of treason by attempting to break away, form their own military, and create their own flag.

    4. They lost. Let me repeat that. They lost. The biggest mistake that the winning side in this battle of moral wills made was to not punish and make an example of the losing side. Instead we allowed a terrible revisionist history to be created by the losing side, and those “leaders” who wrote romantic tales of their “heroism and courage” helped to create what is now known as the Lost Cause Of The Confederacy which haunts the public discourse to this day.

    5. The symbols of their failure should NOT treated as some romantic reminders of that terribly flawed and dishonest revisionist history, but should be treated with scorn and NEVER allowed to be equated in any form or fashion as somehow appropriate or OK. They are symbols of traitors to the country and its ideals, and symbols of terrorism. Period.

Don’t ever let anyone say anything different. Ever.”

    Thank you, Sandridge.

In that spirit, there are two statements floating around out there i don’t want to hear anymore:
    1) “She (Hillary) tried to warn us.” She didn’t “try”, she did warn us.
    2) “If only people had listened.” Excuse me? I got it. I have no more f***ks to give for those who didn’t.

    Enuff.

    @realdonaldtrump
Rather than putting pressure on the businesspeople of the Manufacturing Council & Strategy & Policy Forum, I am ending both. Thank you all!

WTG, asshole. Shitcan the whole damned things, that were supposed to be good for the USA (I know…), in a fit of pique.

Holy shit, you’ve got the right idea, Ms. B, this crap is overflowing like a sewer in a record storm. It’s just incredible, somebody has to take him out, imagine him handling some foreign crisis with the Russkies, Chinese, or the DPRK like this…oh…wait…

There are about 60 million voting ‘Murikkans who should be too ashamed to come outdoors by now.

  10. One of Clinton’s tweets said that “A man you can taunt with a tweet should not have his finger on the nuclear button.” Anybody with a grain of sense agreed with that and then voted accordingly.

And yes, the Confederates lost. So did the Nazis. There is no reason to emulate either of those racist causes.

  11. If the southern states had not tried to leave the Union in order to preserve slavery, no one other than military history buffs would know who Robert E. Lee was. And the same could be said for Jackson, Longstreet, Stuart, or Forrest. (or, to be fair, Grant, Sherman, Thomas, McClellan, or Meade).

If Washington didn’t own slaves, he would still be honored for his role in creating this country.

We are focused on housework and yard work. Our crazy friend organized an Eclipse Party AT OUR HOUSE, because we are in a great spot. It keeps us from fretting more than we would.

Personally, I blame Trump for having to add another blood pressure medicine and a small increase in my alcohol consumption…nothing scary but more than before.

  15. @Arakasi

I agree mostly with your comment, “no one other than military history buffs would know who Robert E. Lee was. And the same could be said for Jackson, Longstreet, Stuart, or Forrest. (or, to be fair, Grant, Sherman, Thomas, McClellan, or Meade).”

I opine that absent the 1861-1865 war, historians would likely note that Lee, Jackson, and possibly Longstreet would have served terms as Commanding General of the United States Army, replacing McClellan, Grant, Sherman, and Sheridan between 1861 and 1881.

If I’m a right wing nut job about now, I am asking myself how is it we dove into an impeachment for a popular Dem Potus-whom the wingnuts in congress could work with easily-for having sex with a blue dress and totally ignore this kluster-you know what, and all of his scandals.

I’d be thinking opioids are easy to get and OD on so why not save the world from us wingnuts.

I didn’t appreciate MASH until it was shown in syndication, MICR. Since we are all friends (kinda) I would like to announce I have a Great Grand Daughter with a name I cannot wrap my lisp around.

My youngest son is a prowd Grampa at age 37-barely. The rest of the story has yet to be writ. I should not say any more than this. Has nothing to do with abnormalities and everyone is healthy.

  22. @epo

I can imagine how that math works out.

If you zig when you shoulda zagged you wind up with a chile turning 48 the same August you turn 64.

    22
  23. @Micr/EPO

The stories behind ‘Suicide Is Painless’ are entertaining. Mike Altman got — and continues to get — more for that song than his dad got for making the movie ($70k). His dad (Robert Altman) had him write the lyrics because he wanted the song to be _insanely stupid_, and thought his 14-year-old son could do it.

I read the book again a couple weeks ago. Still love it.

  24. e platypus onion says:

Interesting about the song, eyesoars. Micr guess who (Me) is 64 this August? Come on-you’d never guess (Me) who it is that is 64.

Felix Sater who is a former partner of Drumpf’s claims he is going to prison and so is Drumpf. That would make being a GGP all the more merrier for me.

    EPO –
I downloaded this for myself last month. Sorry about all the granny images. An original version of the song proved surprisingly hard to find on YouTube.

    Enjoy!
