I Wish I Could Make This Stuff Up

If I could make up stuff like this, I could be a famous fiction writer.  The downside is that nobody would believe it.

Tennessee State Rep. Curry Todd (R, of freekin’ course) was pulled over around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday night, driving double drunk.

YeeHaw Republican Handgun Maven Curry Todd

But that’s not all.

There was a loaded .38 in the front seat with him.  The upside is that there was no male prostitute in the front seat.  The downside is —

Todd sponsored a 2009 bill to allow people with handgun carry permits to bring their weapons into bars and restaurants that serve alcohol, provided they don’t drink. The law passed despite opposition from law enforcement and district attorney groups, and easily survived a veto from former Democratic Gov. Phil Bredesen.

And there’s even more  —–

Todd, the chairman of the House State and Local Government Committee, is known for flashes of a quick temper.

So the angry guy who insists that people need weapons in bars gets double drunk and drives around with a loaded .38 beside him.  I’d say he’s running out of room on the dance floor, but this is Tennessee, where that’ll be legal after the next session.
