I Think This Officially Makes you a Wino

September 30, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

So, we’re hearing that Congressboozer Paul Ryan spent a recent evening showing Americans how to live the good life.

Paul_Ryan-cropped-proto-custom_2Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), a leading advocate of shrinking entitlement spending and the architect of the plan to privatize Medicare, spent Tuesday evening sipping $350 wine with two like-minded conservative economists at the swanky Capitol Hill eatery Bistro Bis.

He later said it was “stupid.”  Ya think?  By my math, that’s about $80 a glass or one cancer treatment.

Be social and share!

  1. I’m shocked, SHOCKED I tell ya, to find out that Rethugs are hypocritical, elitist snobs! Who knew?

  2. Ryan is absolutely one of the worst in the Repig House of Drunks. I really want the names of ANY and ALL congresscritters who smelled like booze on Saturday nite. Anybody else working would be FIRED for drinking on the job – these people are BRINGING DOWN THE WORLD ECONOMY WHILE GUZZLING BOOZE AT OUR EXPENSE. FIRE THEM ALL.

  3. Miss JJ That was two years ago in 2011

  4. I think I’ll stick with my “inexpensive” Merlot.

I think it will take of “inexpensive” Merlot….. to get me through until 2014 elections.

The only way they can come up with the idiotic things that they do….. is if they are about three sheets to the wind.

Nobody……. sober……. would shut down the government of the United States…… and put the entire economy of the world ….. at risk.

@Bananas……the drinking was yesterday. Reporters said the stench of booze was everywhere. Check Huffington Post. The House reeked of booze. This is our taxpayer dollars…. at……… sleaze.

  5. I actually don’t have a problem with the rich enjoying luxuries as long as they aren’t trying to prevent everyone else from having necessities.

Do we know who actually paid? Were lobbyists or corporate sponsors involved?

    5
  6. Those sums beeches should not get one penny of their pay while the government is shut down.
They might learn to appreciate a fine iced tea with a hint of lemon.

    6
  7. While certainly one who could learn to enjoy good wine, I’d rather drink two-buck chuck with Democrats than Chateau Lafite Rothschild with Ryan and his cronies.

    7
  8. I know ….. because it’s happened…. that lobbyists in Texas are allowed to bring checks to the floor, where people in the legislature are supposedly doing “the work of the people”.

However, I would be surprised…. if lobbyists were taking booze the the floor ….. in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Regardless of “who” may have been involved. Most people who (a) drink on the job…. are fired. Period.

Most people who work drunk on the job…. are definitely fired….. period.

    But…. you never know.

  9. Gerald Fnord says:

Remember, you dumb librul, that Ryan is one of the Good Guys, and so entitled to do whatever he wants, including torturing _you_ whilst remaining a Good Guy…John Calvin is relevant here, though he was anti-Christian enough to insist that even the wealthy were also unworthy.

It’s not like a rich man’s last thousand-dollar packet of his ten thousand such were taken and misused to give some losers some food!

Close enough, Bananas. I’m still pissed off about it.

  11. People with money may spend it as they wish. I’m with LynnN though. Those with money spend way too much of it trying to cut worker’s wages and any programs that help the poor. Time to move tax rates on income above $1million into the 80% bracket and remove the Social Security income cap.
Even as recently as 1986 the top marginal rate was 50%. The rich have bribed their way to ever lower taxes since then.

    11
  12. Yeah, this is old news, so it’s sort of not fair here.

But I kind of suspect that whether it’s cutting Medicare (in 2011) or “defunding Obamacare” in 2013, the behavior is probably pretty much the same.

    12
  13. If you want to know who is paying for the fine wine, or House floor booze go to

I’m happy and pleased to say that my House representative, the Honorable John Lewis (D, GA) is a relatively poor man. Takes no big contributions and lives on his salary.

    13
  14. Didn’t he get caught doing this during the election, too? You’d think he’d know better.

    14
  15. One treatment for me was $10k just for the drugs. Yes we do need the AHA. Just wish it was the original one before the right wing nutcases trashed it.

Oh and the right honestly believes that the senate won’t bounce their blackmail bill.

See Mama I behaved and it wasn’t easy!

    15
  16. Miewmaw, the next time – and there will be such – the House reeks so much of booze that you can see the vapors, somebody please light a match!

Mama, this was the best conduct I could gin (forgive the pun) up after reading about Ryan’s snootful.

    16
  17. Ryan boy is from my state. I apologize to everyone. I don’t have a problem with the bottle of wine split between three guys. I would have preferred some good brandy. What I object to is Pauly boy’s arrogance & his disdain for those who actually do the work in our country. He’s lived on the govt. payroll all his life.

    17
  18. Actually, if the booze was supplied by “lobbyists or corporate sponsors…” then we, the taxpayers, paid for it. You don’t think they’d dole this stuff out unless it were a deduction, do you????
