I Quit / You’re Fired / No, I Quit / Yeah, After I Fired You

Okay, to be honest, I am not comfortable with the military running my government, even if the keys to our survival are in the hands of a raving lunatic with an itchy self-gratification finger.

However, at least General John Kelly did one good thing.

It made me giggle when I heard that Kelly revoked Sebastian Gorka’s security clearance while he was on vacation.  It’s pretty funny that Gorka thought it was safe to take a vacation while sitting in a snake pit.

The conservative web site The Federalist reported on Friday that Gorka resigned with a scathing letter accusing “forces” in the White House of working against Trump’s agenda. However, a White House official told Yahoo News that Gorka did not leave of his own accord.

“Sebastian Gorka did not resign, but I can confirm he no longer works at the White House,” the official said.

According to the Washington Examiner’s Sarah Westwood, Gorka said it was “disappointing” that the White House said he was fired, because “I resigned.”

A source with knowledge of the situation said Gorka did indeed resign—but only after being informed on Friday by White House Chief of Staff John Kelly that his security clearance had been revoked, which would have made it impossible for him to continue in his White House job.

Good rule of thumb:  if they take away your keys to the building, it’s too late to resign.

About the generals:  I remember Al Haig.  Those guys scare me.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

  1. I need to buy stock in a popcorn company.

  2. So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen to you, Sebastian Gorka, AKA Boris Badenov from Bullwinkle fame.

You have to hand it to Trump, his cast of characters has been as good as any child’s cartoon show from the sixties. And Badenov was the best cartoon spy both before and since.

  3. I don’t understand why Gorka had a security clearance. His only “job” was going on TV as an attack dog for Trump. Other than that, nobody really knew what he did all day.

And then there’s this: Mia Bloom, a professor of communications and Middle East studies at Georgia State University, said she met Gorka at a conference where they had been asked to talk about the characteristics of ISIS. She said he was so ill-prepared that she and other participants wondered if they were witnessing some kind of practical joke.
“He was making incredibly basic errors about the Arab revolt,” Bloom said. “We were all looking at each other like, what is he doing here?”

  4. Whether Gorka was “fired” or he “resigned” with immediate effect, Americans are fortunate that there is one less KKK-white-nationalist-white-supremacist mole inside the WH feeding this POTUS Confederate-Nazi bull$hit. Removing the Hermann Göring lookalike Stephen Miller should follow asap. Their removal won’t fix this presidency, but maybe the anti-non-white elements gone, Hair Drumpf can concentrate on illicit profits, sex, and drugs instead of enslaving non-white peoples.

Who knew all of his hires were “summer intern” positions?

Well… it’s the start of another school year so… time to get that LinkedIn profile jazzed up.

  7. Yes, I remember Al Haig too and am concerned by lots of military guys in government. However, I’m more comfortable with them than Insane Orange Whore’s NaziKKK pals.

  8. TTPT, we don’t know what he was doing, but we’re all better off now that he’s not doing it.

Let’s have a few more resignations higher up the list.

  9. And Mike Pence, he jes’ lay low…

Gorka isn’t exactly gone. At least not as long as his wife is still employed over at Homeland Security. His wife is Katherine Cornell Gorka. One of Katherine Gorka’s acts at DHS was defunding Life After Hate, a group which facilitates deradicalization (particularly of white supremacists). Donnie sure is a “keep it in the family” employer.

  11. Most [about 95%] flag officers today are more like Eric Shinseki or Wesley Clark than Al Haig. This country is never going to go to the Haiges, Boykins or Pattons. The model is now more like vanderGriff, Eisenhower, Vessy than leMay, Patton, Max Taylor, et al.
Fear not — it takes an education to make O-7 now, not guts. We’ve determined that guts is a short round and education is always on target.

  12. I really don’t care how or why Gorka got kicked out of the White House. All I know is that I am beginning to breathe a little better. Now get rid of that pompous twit of an ass Steve Miller!
