I Love Yew, Texas

August 26, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Now don’t tell me we’re not a bunch of super smart people in Texas.  I got proof we know all kinds of health hacks.

No, seriously. Some of our citizens have figured out that if bleach will clean our drainboards, it’ll also clean our airways and kill weeds in our flowerbeds.

Besides, the good people at QAnon, who are the same good folks who brought you the John Birch Society, say those damn doctors have a cure but they ain’t telling you because they make money off sick people.

Thanks to Kary for the heads up.

I heard an author who wtote a book about Qanon and similar groups, who said that the people drawn into these are usually socially isolated and somewhat marginalized. They usually find an accepting community in Qanon, and a complex-seeming worldview they can adopt that will make people stop and listen to them. Basically Q has turned lonliness into a business model.

Trumpf is able to lead his people to the bleach and make them drink it too. He’s their master. Believe the master and you will be saved- from dying from coronavirus, but you will die from stupidity.

  5. The more bleach they drink, the fewer votes we have to worry about. If we can get Trump and Pence to swig a gallon or two, problem solved.

True. I just told my little bride, every single one of these cretins who come into an ER should have their voter registration revoked right there, no questions asked, no defense heard. And if they show up dead at an ME’s office the mail in votes should be checked and theirs removed and burned.

Stoopid so strong and deep it burns white.

Covidiots. Wait until they discover there is 70% medical grade HCL available. We won’t tell them about the minute proportions with which it’s used to produce many medications.

  9. I will admit, I can live without eating in a restaurant as long as we can takeout. But if the only way I can get authentic Rhode Island style calamari (without driving at least to Fall River) is to get a sunburn? I have my Aloe Vera lotion…

P.S. Sunlight/Vitamin D may help decrease the severity of the disease. Listen to RadioLab “Invisible Allies”.

  10. “… those damn doctors have a cure but they ain’t telling you because they make money off sick people.”

Which presumably includes the sick people who drank bleach because they listened to conspiracy theories telling them doctors make money off of sick people?

I’m sorry, I thought they had moved on to oleander and deadly nightshade. Have to check the mail more often.

  12. How about subversively suggesting to Trumpsters that while drinking bleach doesn’t work, but colonic irrigation with bleach works “miraculously.” You know, it’s a miracle if it works.

Night three of the dog dump crazy RNC spectacle. Mixed genre madness where science fiction meets theatre of the absurd on stage with crazy gory ripper novellas.

Shots of Fuenteseca Cosecha Blanco Tequila 2013 for us, bleach of their choice for the covidiots. For each lie the covidiots chug a gallon of bleach while we sip a sparingly lest we succumb to alcohol poisoning.

  14. I live in a college town.
    Classes started on Monday.
By then, there had been 2 confirmed cases of Covid.
Then we find out there had been a party last Friday.
43 kids, alcohol, a few masks

    They have been suspended indefinitly.
So it has begun. Glad the university enforced the code of conduct.

Ted- Ewe, a Clorox enema. Let’s say it was the new WH expert’s recommendation, Mr. Atlas. That should yield some really good shit.

  16. The Surly Professor says:

Although Trump was and still is an idiot, there was a whole genre of anti-vaxers that were feeding bleach to their kids long before Covid-19. Something about it preventing autism, over and above the autism-prevention of not getting vaccinated. Probably the Russian social media trolls figured that if they could get people to give it to infants in a baby bottle, those same folks would guzzle it straight from the Clorox bottle.

ButtermilkSky: don’t be ridiculous. You gotta soak the oleander leaves in the bleach, and then drink it. While hugging a My Pillow.

Years ago, I subscribed to North Carolina Folklore magazine. Bleach sounds appealing compared with what our great great grandparents took.

Bullshit tea (typically the taste was masked with a dollop of ‘shine). Kerosene.

A friend who came from the deep country was treated for sore throat with a red rag (it had to be red) soaked in kerosene as late as the early ’50s.

If I could be certain no one under the age of 18 would be drinking it, I’d advocate th bleach treatment for “ever right-thinkin’ ‘Murkin,” thin the herd, so to speak.

Hey, it’s Darwinian: live with it.

  19. 533 confirmed cases at the Tuscaloosa campus of U/Alabama. The other two sites – Birmingham and Huntsville – both have squeaky little virus counts that can’t possibly compare with Tuscaloosa widely known for its frats, sororities, Roll Tide football constant mindset. Birmingham is where the U/A med school is. Remdesivir, a possible coronavirus fighter, is attached to the campus. Scientists and engineers are mostly found in geater number at the Huntsville campus. If there is a failure to crackdown on the Tuscaloosa campus and the cases grow well past the 533 already known, those party hardy kids could literally kill their own school. Not that it would bother them.

The Cow College I went to also has over 500 cases. (I don’t know much about the school these days, it’s been over 50 years since I was there. But these college outbreaks suggest to me that either 1) it is not just the dopes who cannot comprehend the concept of ‘infectious agent’; or 2) the colleges need to raise their admissions standards — a lot.
