I Know I’m Dashing Around Like My Hair Is On Fire – But My Hair Is On Fire

August 24, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

It’s kinda crazy around here right now.

In case I didn’t tell you already, the best Houston weather is here.  We’re going to be fine. We’re on high ground so all we fret about is wind and the trees but even then we’ve got 100 year old oaks that have stood so far.  However, I do have two or three backup plans — family, friends, and a hotel reservation in Austin.  However, bringing in everything from outside and packing up to leave in a emergency takes a lot of time.

But, I’m trying to keep up with breaking news.

If you want to feast your eyes on the cover document, here ya go.

And the big story is here at the Washington Post.

And there’s more.

Lots more.

Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, the former friend of Melania Trump who helped produce the 2017 Presidential Inauguration, taped the First Lady making disparaging remarks about the president and his adult children, Yashar Ali reports.

Wolkoff plans on sharing the First Lady’s comments about her family in her forthcoming book Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship with The First Lady which will be published on September 1.

It’s probably not a good day to be a Trump.

Be social and share!

  1. I know you’re very busy right now, but when you have time (or if anyone else knows) who are these other people besides ‘ol Eric who are named in the lawsuit?

    1
  2. Never mind, I got my lazy self to look them all up. Seven Springs is a fancy Trump retreat, and the rest of the names are all lawyers.

    2
  3. Stay safe, JJ!

  4. Ha,ha,ha… Look at the panic on that face!

Don Jr. fears his father will lose — and the Trump family will be prosecuted: report
    ************************************
Edit: He has told the conservative activist that ‘he expects that a Biden administration will not participate in a ‘peaceful transition’ and instead, will ‘shoot the prisoners.’” ~Gahhhh!~

  5. And don’t forget Biden’s son, you lying, dog faced, pony soldier!

Totally agree with Miz Juanita Jean’s source of weather reports. Those guys are the best!

Text received from a friend this morning: A guy walks into a bar and orders a Corona and two Hurricanes. Bartender says, “That’ll be $20.20.”

Good grief! Who are these orange fool friends and family? Do they ALL secretly record each other?!! Humorous for the rest of us to be sure but still waaay creepy.

As a former homeowner near Buffalo Bayou, I would not be too optimistic. All those folks in Meyerland seemed awfully surprised to end up at the bottom of a lake.

My expenses for tell-all (tell-some?) books about Trump are rising faster than the S&P.

  8. I hope all of my friends in TX and LA stay safe, but the current track makes me worried about my friends in western Virginia. It’s a bit too much like the track of Camille in 1969. Camille slammed the LA-MS border as a Category 5 storm, but killed more people in Virginia than on the Gulf Coast. The remnants hit the mountains in VA causing flash floods and landslides that no one was prepared for. One location reported 5 inches of rain in 30 minutes.

  9. Will Eric sing? Now, or in the shower at Reikers?

    9
  10. Stay safe. And your family too!!

  11. Averages of the spaghetti models show Laura tracking east of Houston, east of the Louisiana & Texas border which is also confirmed by the ECMWF model, probably the most accurate over the last few years.

Unless there’s a major shift in the forecast track tomorrow JJ, you should be OK, except for rain from the outer bands of the storm. Best wishes.

I agree with you, Rick. I’ll check tomorrow morning to see if I should cancel the hotel. I think we’re going to get lucky in Houston.

  13. NicaBrian says:

Bill Barr and My Little Cowbaby Nunes may have an October Surprise cooking up but we’re getting multiple strippers popping out of a giant schadenfreude cake in August. And I’m loving it.

Jerry Falwell Jr will be hawking colloidal silver miracle cures with Jimmy Bakker after the lawyers suck all his money dry, Eric the Trump is taking a precautionary 5th in advance of even an invitation to questioning which will look really good to a sentencing judge. Don Jr is projecting that Biden will not participate a peaceful transition? Guess whose daddy actually said he won’t, Donnie. But at least he can see the 20 foot tall letters saying LOSER! and admits the election may as well be over.

Meanwhile friends I’ve had for 60 years are trying to tell me that if (when) Trump loses they have their guns, ammo, foxholes, food supplies all ready for their civil war and to hide the kids and kiss my ass goodbye. I’d think it was funny if it weren’t so sad. Hoping there will be a QAnon Anonymous for all these murder junkies after this is all over.

Then there will never be a good day to be a trump.

NicaBrian @ 13: my bro-in-law has been carrying on about civil war after the election. What makes these people think there will be a civil war? Unless they’re planning to start it.

  15. Sandridge says:

    Rick @11, JJ @12,
    It’s all changed this morning.
Hurricane Laura is beginning an RI [rapid intensification], possibly leading to a Cat 3 to 5 major status. And she’s taking a slightly more westward track, which may take her somewhere from a Port O’Connor eastward landfall.
With an increasing chance of striking a little west of Galveston.
IOW, the worst possible case for the Houston area is developing rapidly …
