I Dunno, Maybe It’s Just Me. But We ALL Pay Your Salary
There’s an Assistant US Attorney in Beaumont, Texas – yes, that is East Texas – who has taken to Facebook to show his ability to seek justice. Okay, not justice exactly. More like to make a total jerk of himself.
Speaking about the Trayon Martin trial, Assistant US Attorney John Craft tried to make Facebook friends with this —
Craft wrote: “How are you fixed for Skittles and Arizona watermelon fruitcocktail (and maybe a bottle of Robitussin, too) in your neighborhood? I am fresh out of “purple drank.” So, I may come by for a visit. In a rainstorm. In the middle of the night. In a hoodie. Don’t get upset or anything if you see me looking in your window … kay?”
Nope, no racial prejudice here.
And there’s this —
In another comment, Craft wrote that “low information voters carried the day for the Dalibama in the last election” and posted an image of a graphic that said: “Obama: Why Stupid People Shouldn’t Vote.”
Babe, Eric Holder is your boss. Do you know who selected Eric Holder? Honey, are you living proof that maybe stoopid people did elect somebody who would hire you?
His boss says there is not social media policy but that he found Craft’s comments to be “reprehensible.” However, he wouldn’t say if Craft would be disciplined.
Talk is so cheap.
Thanks to Dennis for the heads up.
Don’t worry about a ton of bricks not coming down on this jerk. He has made himself socially networked and the DOJ knows about him and his lily livered boss. Think blunted career. He may not be fired but he can be posted to somewhere else such as Moosedump, a “town” consisting entirely of one mobile home.
1I like this, Maggie! If George Bush could get legit U.S. Attorneys fired, then Eric Holder should check out the need for another Assistant U.S. Attorney for lower Moosedump. They annexed another mobile home last week!
2I have a used rodeo clown I could send them as a replacement…
3Good judgment is an important part of being a successful attorney. If this fool ever wins a case for the prosecution the defense attorney should check for tampered evidence/testimony. Clearly US Attorney Craft has bad judgment and a personal agenda.
4As a retired federal employee I am well aware that this type of brain-flatulance is not only inappropriate, but against the federal government’s tolerance for appropriate behavior. Even if this attorney did it in his own time he is a full time representative of the Justice Department.
His attitude is reprehensible, isn’t anything near to showing good judgement, and he should be terminated. I for one, am going to write my Congressman and Senators and pursue termination or severe punishment for this John Craft, a sorry excuse for a U.S. Attorney.

I just shake my head in total disgust … what an A-1 total a$$hole! I’m sorry, Momma … what would you call this disgusting pile of moose dung?
6This is going viral. He has the right to free and private speech, but when private behavior embarrasses one’s official office, there surely will be consequences. Mr. Craft should be available for a career change to the private sector by the end of the week. Stay tuned.

7I don’t understand such stupidity. More and more often, I feel like I’m having a nightmare of being stuck on the set of the movie “Idiocracy.”
8Some places don’t have a formal social media policy for the same reason they may not have a written dress code – an underlying assumption that anybody who works there would have at least a bit more sense than a golden retriever and would conduct themselves in a professional manner. Then some yahoo comes along and demonstrates the truth of the old saw about how one spells “assume.”
9I’ve never know a Golden Retriever to intentionally try to hurt anyone’s feelings. Can’t say the same for many 2 legged folks.
10Why is it that Republican idiots believe the right to free speech means no negative consequences whatsoever for their speech? There is no vice versa for them on the right to free speech. Perhaps Peggy Noonan will write in her next column about how Obama should apologize to him, after all he just proved his bona fides as a rodeo clown.
11Since my last comment above, I’ve called my Congressman and Senator and voiced my displeasure with this idiot. I am also going to call Holders office and complain. There is such a thing as the Hatch Act that limits political involvement for federal employees, but it’s been updated a number of times and like many Acts it can be confusing….I am contacting the Office of Special Counsel to voice my opinion there.
I am too old for this crap. I argued against this bigotry in the 1960’s and now that I am old and cranky, I don’t have the patience to just sit and argue it again….I am doing whatever I can to fight it! “Do Not Go Gentle Into the Night……”
12The man is an idiot. A friend of mine just lost his son to an overdose from Purple Drank. Not cute in the least. Oh, the friend is a white male republican.
13I want my money back!
14this idiot can only hope for official sanctions as some of the MAJORITY of Beaumont might take offense at what he wrote. Take a look at Beaumont Population stats.
Black alone – 55,489 (46.9%)
15White alone – 41,041 (34.7%)
Hispanic – 15,898 (13.4%)
Asian alone – 3,850 (3.3%)
Two or more races – 1,522 (1.3%)
American Indian alone – 360 (0.3%)
Other race alone – 111 (0.09%)
Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander alone – 25 (0.02%)
Al Alvarez in AZ: You’re absolutely right on all counts. I am contacting my Senators, but there’s no point in contacting my congressidiot — he hasn’t ever had a thought that wasn’t drilled into his head by his GOP handlers. I am truly sick and tired of the lack of any respect or decency towards our President. I know the nincompoops don’t like Obama — I get it, okay? — but should any American have so little respect for the office of President?!? There are times when I start to believe there really should be some limits on “free speech.”
