I Dunno. Is It a Sign?
The birds! The birds!
VATICAN CITY — Two white doves that were released by children standing alongside Pope Francis as a peace gesture have been attacked by other birds.
As tens of thousands of people watched in St. Peter’s Square on Sunday, a seagull and a large black crow swept down on the doves right after they were set free from an open window of the Apostolic Palace.
Whoa, I bet talk radio will be buzzing tonight.
So I suppose if the doves were armed with assault weapons, this never would have happened?
1Dang! Hundreds upon hundreds of years ago it was pigeons giving Rome a bad name with their bad bathroom behavior. Much larger predatory birds were ordered released and the pigeon problem resolved. The predators that attacked the doves were probably descendants of the birds released in the Middles Ages and were just doing their job inasmuch as doves look a heck of a lot like pigeons! Just sayin’ . . .
2It’s a sign that doves should never be released out those windows again.
3Well, the Righties will probably make a big deal out of the attack of the gull and the crow upon the sweet little white doves. Or, they’ll all be saying it’s Obama’s damn fault or that’s what the Pope gets for being so damned liberal in his thinking.
4Those poor domestic doves probably had no chance when somebody let them loose in a place they’d never been. “Releasing doves” for a wedding or any other fool reason is no kindness to the birds.
